Aparently its my MSE 4th birthday today - thanks for all your pleasures and support over the years folks x

1. was woken about 4am by thunder and lightening but managed to get back to sleep after a cup of tea and then had a nice lie in till 9am
2. went food shopping, arriving at @ldi at 10am when they opened its much quieter and there is loads of parking spaces. Can't do my shopping tomorrow as I usually do as my car is going for its MOT. Managed to resist buying any carp - no cakes biscuits ice cream etc feeling very virtuous !! :A
3. made chicken fajitas for lunch we use fat free natural yoghurt instead of sour cream - tastes the same and less calories and opened a jar of jalapinos from my store cupboard which I bought in co-op a few weeks ago yellow stickered down from to £1.69 to 42p.
4. did some washing but as it keeps raining it will have to dry indoors on the airers. The heating will be on for half an hour later but has been off all day as its still quite mild here
5. got some brains faggots in @ldi haven't had them for years so looking forward to those later in the week0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Sometimes life can be so cruel, have just heard that Daisy, the lovely three year old mare that we had such fun with yesterday had to be put down today. She had a bad colic attack overnight and despite being rushed into the equine hospital this morning nothing could be done so was put down this afternoon. She was young, beautiful with so much potential and her owner is devastated.0

1. Got clean bedding out for all the animals, we have new vet bed which I swear should be used as carpet it’s lovely, and their current bedding is my old fleeces so they are binned the easy way to keep up with washing.
2. A rather lazy morning, well incredibly lazy:o
3. Roast pork and crackling cooking away, roast pots, courgettes, carrots and sprouts, smells lovely, with HM apple sauce.:D
4. Had a search about on Gutenburg for a book that’s no thee’s and thous, fraid I ended up on Amazon downloading a free book.
5. 4 loads of washing, 1 of them is set to soak for an age now.
6. NSD day and no diesel day.0 -
mrs motivated would you share the recipe for corned beef crustless quiche... sounds delish !
[/QUOTE]
Hi Skintyetagain, I can't remember the original recipe as I adapt it now and basically use up what's in the fridge
I mash a tin of corned beef in the bottom of the quiche dish, I add some cooked chopped bacon and sprinkle grated cheese on top, whisk 6 eggs and add black pepper and chopped spring onions and pop in the oven 180degrees for about 25mins.
Original recipe used cottage cheese instead of cheddar, which is also nice.... sometimes I add mushrooms, its so easy and you really can't go wrong.Well Behaved women seldom make history

2) cold wet walk walk home did at least push the pedometer dial
3) ds home already then dd1 arrived and he opened his present from her - a portable record player. Much hilarity ensued as they marvelled at an lp having TWO sides
4) then dd2 collected from work same time as mum arrived.opened a bottle of champagne (£9.99 from mr l and not half bad)
5) then chocolate trivial pursuit. Again much laughter, lovely day (only slightly marred by discovering a damp patch on a chimney breast upstairs - the weather has been foul)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Happy birthday to DS, DD!
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in!
2) The surveyor came to look at next door's roof (or lack thereof) so hoping something can be done about that soon. It's quite nerve racking, walking past it.
3) Went to get son new trousers, 1st birthday present for niece etc.
4) Had eyebrows threaded at last.
5) Went swimming with sons and my brother. Swam 800m.
6) Watched Iron Man.0 -
Popping in to say hello , have been lurking since I last posted! So much for time away!
Pleasure one is work is over for another 3 days. Left today feeling slightly peed off but no more until Friday.....may consider moving on sometime .
We lost the dog's name tag....then I found it...after he'd vomited!
Trip to the beach yesterday evening, lovely after a very hot day ( even hotter today , even hotter tomorrow and then a boiling hot Thursday! )
Another book read and popped into the library after work and borrowed some more books.
Also popped into Salvos, had donated a pile of stuff last week. Bought 5 lovely china balls/ ornament-y things, I rather like them . Some flowery, some stripy, all blue and white. Just $2.25 each . Also spotted a typewriter, which DD1 has been after for a while, which works, called her and yes, she would like it please, so lugged it home.
Having lentil soup for tea. It's rather delicious, cheap and cheerful and served with lovely baker's shop free bread.
Keep well everyone0 -
This post is being interrupted by Raffles, he has just landed on the keys!
5 But BoP is made of sterner things, and can handle it, Right!
4 Tea last eve was Roast buzzard with blackcurrant jam, as well as the usual trimmings. Raffles was keen to sneak up on the blind side as the sharpened carving knife was used with such venom. Rubs Tum. Oh, did anyone actually use an electric carving knife. We got one as a wedding present years back! Not used!
3 Poached eggs on toast this morning! Always nice to go out on an egg!
2 Weather too bad this day to be bothered about doing the tredder tyres again. Must try again in the morning
I note that my 1972 re-release Space Oddity 45rpm has suddenly gone up in value!0 -
RIP David Bowie :-( I love Space Oddity so much I can actually remember specific times when I heard it unexpectedly! On the radio on the way home from a trip at primary school and in a small student flat whilst holding a mug of whisky.
Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Quite a tough day at work (and worked through lunchtime). Was met with such resistance last thing, gave up trying to encourage smaller person to do some work. :-( I still wish someone would tell me what I am supposed to be doing, and how to do it. It is incredibly stressful each day.
3) Went to the charity shops after work.
4) Salad for tea. Wish weight loss was showing a difference!
5) Cleaned floors and lit the fire.
6) Bigger son got all the old photos out for a school project so we all enjoyed looking through those.
7) In bed already with 1 hwb (we've one each tonight!) and will listen to the radio in a bit.
Glad you found the dogtag, MHags!0
