thanks for the tip re fenland wobbleade BOP as Lainey was designated driver soft drinks only for me.
Frost on the grass first thing when we walked the girls, air felt cold but cleaner after rain.
Trip to the farm shop for fruit, veg and meat, still have the lovely boxes of satsumas at about half the price of emporium.
Lovely farrier sorted Bill's feet, on the whole good although warm, damp weather taking toll on most equines apparently but my lad is a lot stronger and can stand three-legged quite happily.
Trip through fenland to pub, yummy food, had roast cod with pea/pancetta risotto followed by Choc brownie with HM cherry ice-cream, so tasty, obviously freshly cooked and served on proper plates. Not a slate platter or wooden board in sight, yay! Company of good friends topped off a fab evening.
Snuggled down under extra blanket and HWB.
Frith whoop whoop on weight loss and freedom

Frith well done on the weight loss
Pleasures
1. Have been given a disabled parking space at work for icy/snowy conditions (if we get any - I know its forecast to get cold next week) so I wont fall on my @rse. Am unsteady on my feet at the best of times :rotfl:
2. MOT booked for Monday and as I took out a service plan the cost is reduced to £25. The dealer made a hash of setting up said service plan and so agreed to put £25 of petrol in my car on Monday. I forgot and got carried away in @sda as fuel was 99p !! and filled up. Quick email to dealer and he has agreed to do MOT for free instead :T
3. DS has been getting up at 4am on early shift and I have managed to get back to sleep, not getting up till 6am when my alarm goes off. Haven't felt too tired
4. however this morning he had to do another early to make up some hours and so I got up with him and had a cup of tea then went back to bed when he left and slept till 9am ! Nice lie in
5. Meal planning was a success this week so haven't bought any takeaways so far this year and haven't bought any lunches at work.

Frith - well done on the weight loss
DD - Look at you, how far you have come in those three years. Can't believe it's been three years....
Kittikins - you too have come along way in the past few years. You are an inspiration for my new beginnings about to - err - begin
PK - good luck for the job
Welcome, Mrs White.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Getting through the work. It isn't a pleasure to do it, i am so over the work thing nowjust ploughing on and the pleasure is ticking things off my list
2. Shopping and restocking fridge and freezer. We were very low - but clearly not as low as i thought as i struggled to fit everything in. There are more portions of Freezer Surprise meals in there than i thought :rotfl: Lovely chat with my lovely butchers, who were :rotfl: over the hair fiasco
3. Took DS to the quacks about his skin. He has severe acne and we can't shift it. More anti-biotics and more lotion - after this its the consultant (who, ironically, has the worst skin I've ever seen - or almost)
4. Left over paella for tea. Also I have discovered HFW light and easy recipes for gluten free crackers and scones which should help scratch my baking itch (OH needs to lose weight so i have said i won't bake) and I had a (rather dry) almond and buckwheat scone with the paella. I will experiment to introduce some moistness.
5. An evening watching TV. I rarely watch it, but OH was away for the day and DS was watching footie elsewhere - so I caught up with Call the Midwife and Hinterland. And did a lot of knitting. :T
Have a fab weekend allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1) Super day with DD2 and that Zebra yesterday, the new house is really nice and once they've put their own stamp on it will be a very comfy family home, they chose well.
2) Got the first unprompted cuddle from the Zebra yesterday, we were sitting reading and he just turned his little self round and hugged me, was THE BEST!!!
3) Got to visit the scoop shop near the new house, DD had lived nearby in digs when she was at uni and I loved using it then but they bought the first flat too far away to walk comfortably. Oh the joy!!!
4) Lots of reductions in the veg department of the Co Op when I went to get some carrots this morning, now stocked up for the week for very little outlay, YAY!
5) All the Christmas/New Year kerfuffle is now well and truly behind us and life as we know it can begin again, so much better, I just love 'everyday'.0 -
11 years single, BoP, not 11 years married!
5 Always good to see car of Germanic origin in car park slun in and attempted to park. BoP, slaps motor of BoP into reverse, gets a close as possible to block car in, great things reversing sensors! Had a choice of two as well. Pity we left before them, perhaps next time, we would be just a tad longer, or, perhaps the driver came out and could not get the thing out!
4 Breakfasty this morning we had Snorkers, best smoked back, mushrooms, toms, toast, and poached eggies. All washed down with tea. And we have double choc biscuits in as well. Guess what? Rubs Tum!
3 Got forms and that through, so sifting the data and getting things sorted. Loads of bits! May need a wobbleade!
2 Well after putting film on for BoPsie with Burt inn it, did I get a Monroe last night. No. Had to do with a classic. Well maybe tonight! And be careful as well, BoPsie has been inn about the parish again. She thinks I has gone all soft. No I has not!
Where I grew up, we had pure bristle for beds. The nails faced upwards!0 -
Hi Everyone and happy weekend to you all...
Today's pleasures.
1. Well firstly a much needed lie in until 9.30am, so much better than the 7am work days especially at this time of the year when its dark, cold and wet.
2. Meal plans done for the week and the big monthly shop out of the way.
3. Made a corned beef, crustless quiche a very old slimming world recipe which my lot love ready for Mondays packed lunches.
4. cleared the huge pile of ironing, which is not exactly a pleasure, but I was definitely in 'smug mode' when I had finished it.
5. Feet up now, dogs all sleepy, I am catching up on here and looking forward to sharing a bottle of wine later on.Well Behaved women seldom make history

Pleasures for today:
1) Was a good sleep until smaller son's mattress was delivered at 06.50! Got his old mattress off the bed, put new one on, made bed up again - and we all went back to sleep!
2) Sons went ferreting with my brother. It actually stopped raining for that.
3) Made some hm bread. Had that with soup and brie for lunch when sons got home.
4) Took the old mattress to the tip, cleaned the car out (a bit) and went to Sainsburys.
5) Went swimming with sons and my brother. I am covered in injuries at the moment. One bruise on my shin where I ran into the coffee table in the staff room yesterday. A bruise on the back of my hand where bigger son bashed me whilst playing "water polo" at swimming. And a fat, split lip where smaller son bashed me in the face with a football and my lip caught on my teeth! That also made my nose crunch but that doesn't hurt now.
6) Fish and chips from the van. Then apple pie. Then some Roses chocolates. Healthy eating out of the window today so will start again tomorrow.
7) Some text messages from my sister today which was nice, although her baby has croup. :-(
8) Enjoyed Casualty.
9) Smaller son enjoying new mattress now.
10) In bed with 1 hwb.
VJsmum - your son has my sympathy. I was on oxytetracycline for years (never really helped) and my skin was (and sometimes still is) pretty bad. My sister's at times is even worse and bigger son's is awful at the moment. He has never mentioned it so I am still pretending I haven't noticed.0 -
vjsmum doing PhD 2nd best decision I made (1st obvs my children)
1) lie in hooray for Saturday. Then caught up on ambridge. Poooooor Helen!
2) off to mr t. Ds is 21 tomorrow (I know bop I don't look old enough :rotfl:) and has requested sausage pie for tea hence mr t (it"s rolled out puff pastry spread with sausage meat, folded over then cooked). Remembered to take surplus tonic water back as had kept receipt yay
3) used the rest of the 3 hour free parking to see dd1 who was running her first event at science centre. Bugs and biodiversity. Given a free basil plant to grow
4) asked her what she wanted instead of sausage pie as she now veggie. Cheesy snails (another el cheapo family fave from their childhood - roll out puff pastry, sprinkle with grated cheese, roll and slice, bake)
5) rest of day spent avoiding the weather (apart from brisk doggie walks), candles lit, watching all 3 episodes of the there were none, and eating a portion of Christmas pud.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1. Up and out early for us running errands picking up prescriptions, getting car keys cut.:)
2. We popped into the next town on as I wanted to get “proper” fresh veg and fruit from the fantastic market stand they have there:j. By the time I finished I came away with 2 full carrier bags crammed with fruit and veg that cost a princely sum of 5.30, I am always incredulous, but I had so much we had to take it back to the car.:o:o
3. I found a new work and laptop bag which will cope with my laptop and all the other “junk” as DH put it:o, it’s deep purple compact and slings over a shoulder, it was £4 from a CS, it looks brand new never used, so I looked it up online and it’s daftly expensive. We also popped into Whsmith to get DH a fake filofax insert, on getting it he got a voucher for money off a diary which I immediately used.:money:
4. We stopped in at our cafe, it was delicious as usual, full roast and tea and coffee, but we also tried the machine that squashes oranges it was amazing.
5. Travelled over to DF, where DH sorted his electrics, while I ploughed through his paperwork and also fixed bits and bobs.
6. Used up reductions for tea, while watching Hunger Games.:D0
