Evening all....just in from cocktails in the courtyard at school! Well water and nibbly things! Thank you eveninv for parents who've helped out....all a bit awkward at first, I knew nobody but started chatting with a lady called Helen who I recognised from DD2's primary school. We were both sad and lonely so stood making small talk ( quite interesting , she works in food too) for an hour.
Work was work and is over and done with for another 3 days. New awful person was given her marching orders at end of shift. I've never met anyone like her ( nor has boss) she continually answered back , aged 32... If she was one of my kids she'd have been sent to her room a while ago!her parting shot as she left was....' I'm a free spirit. There's too many rules and regulations here for me....' Tata...that's my pleasure she's gone!
Home on train , it's been very hot today.
A parcel from John Lewis had arrived , hurrah!
Shower, hair wash and dried, dress on and heels unearthed form the shoe cupboard....approval given by DD2 and off I went!
Do have a good week0 -
Not a huge amount thus far today:-
1. Walked and dealt with muddy paws from dog walking this morning then vacc'ed up! Cuddles and fuss with the four hooved buddies out the back!
2. Got three pairs of my boots - which I have used allot these last four weeks - polished. Kitchen smells of boot polish now
3. Cappucino and house to myself (well cat and dogs don't count!)

1) Neighbours have topped one of their large old silver birch trees that run along the boundary between our gardens and donated us the big branches for the woodstove.
2) The house that's been newly built across the road has had carpets laid this afternoon so we won't have the flotilla of vans parked outside for much longer, hoorah!!!
3) Found some nice stocking fillers in town this morning at a reasonable price too!
4) Unexpected phone call from Charlie retrievers Mum to see if we wanted to walk this afternoon, don't normally get her on a Monday, lovely walk too!
5) Salmon steaks for tea tonight, I like salmon!!!0 -
1. had my hair done- look less like a badger - it was booked before my car broke down and I found out about my job - but as my hairdresser is a friend of a friend the cut, colour and blow dry was £39 so not too budget busting - but may have to start and do it myself again after xmas
2. hairdresser told me about tesc0 selling advent calendars for half price - had to go to town anyway so picked one up for DS

The doctor has called me in after the blood tests all came back with issues including thyroid, I pop in tomorrow to discuss what to do, it all sounds fixable I hope but I am a little concerned tonight.:(
1. Toasted some cheese for lunch.
2. My interview today was postponed for the 4th time I suspect it won’t happen.
3. The animals are very playful.:)
4. I re mowed the lawn in the hope that it’s the last mow of the year.
5. Then I moved upstairs and put away the clean pile of washing, properly cleaned upstairs, took off bedding and put on clean bedding after a dreadful nights lack of sleep last night.:p and I did a little of the large filing pile so it's a little less.
6. I did serious food planning today as budgeting and we have plenty in the freezers. We have to go to Mr T tomorrow for something only they sell for the animals “lactofree”, someone kindly gifted us some dried lactofree they had been using to bring up hedgehog babies it kept us going for months.
7. I had an accidental nap, I was woken up from a deep sleep by a delivery, but I couldn’t help but notice the smirk on his face:o as it was abundantly clear I had only just woken up, and it takes at least one hot tea to make me communicative again, however it was the poster I had ordered from the MSE email and its great, I just need to pop to Ikea to get a frame for it at some point before the C word.:T0 -
Haven't posted in ages, but love to all and I've enjoyed reading all the posts x
1. Today has been a NSD as I deliberately left my handbag at home. Must do it more often!
2. Head brought doughnuts to staff meeting to thank us all for all our hard work recently, so that cured my sugar craving at 3:30!
3. Managed to get all my marking done by kicking out of school by the caretaker time, yay....I loathe bringing books home!
4. Had a gorgeous weekend with DD - I took her to netball yesterday, and we then had scrummy lunch and a mooch around Oxford.
5. Was able to have a lovely chat with a parent I often had to call in to tell that his child has behaved badly....the child is making lots of good decisions when faced with situations he used to find very trickyLove having the good chats, rather than the X whacked Y type ones!

Day off number one Hurrah!
Good chat with friend from home...putting the world to rights again..if only we could!
So hot today , mid 30's and so, so windy.
So much washing done today to take advantage of said weather!
Just popped out a couple of times, first time to post a letter, get bread at bakers and mince at local supermarket. Mooched through Salvos but saw nothing I fancied.
Then a wander over to vets with Haggis to make an appointment for Saturday. His first boosters are due. His daddy shall be taking him!
He likes going to vets.(Haggis! )
Lolled about moaning about the heat. Sweating like a sweaty thing and generally being pathetic about it all....its not even summer yet! Had aircon, then a fan from the room with aircon ( dining room!) pointing in the direction of the kitchen which is open plan with family room which has a ceiling fan....hoping to push some cold air through there!
Got a letter from letter writing friend so wrote back and will pop out soon and walk with dog and OH to post it.
Made spag Bol for tea which was rather nice.
Have lied to my children by telling them house is being inspected tomorrow morning! Rooms being tidied as I type!
I've said it so many times I'm almost believing myself!
