woo hoo vjsmum you'll love it. i'm currently supervising 3 phds (one nearly finished, pne just starting) and it's such an exciting process
5 for yesterday
1) almost a nsd - 20p on a banana
2) took lunch and tea to work so i could walk straight to band practice at 8
3) getting a new puter at work. had to be approved by the dean cos it's gonna be a mac laptop (never had a mac before)
4) rather wet at 8, but have new rain coat and saved the bus fare (which would have been much more than 20p)
5) band practice good. only muffed up one tune. then tea and cake and dd2 unexpectedly arrived for lift home.

Almost bedtime for me.
Had a busy day.
Early start as we had hospital in city. Traffic was horrendous driving in, I could not be bothered doing that every day...luckily I don't have to.
First appointment went well, we got results of last weeks MRI which came back as all okay. Then we went to see speech pathologist, to do 6 month post op review from the rehab programme OH did, then next clinic. New to us doctor...'well this is all rather awful isn't it' , my heart missed a few beats I think....but he just meant in general, cancer twice . Yes , it is but we are moving on doctor doom! Then back up stairs to see our nutritionist as 6 month review from rehab programme.
We then drove out to St Kilda and parked the car in a free area and walked a couple of miles to a restaurant at end of the pier. I had a pumpkin salad and drank lots of water. It was sunny but very breezy. Then walked back to car with a stop off on a wall overlooking the beach and sea.
Home eventually , again traffic horrendous and it was so warm . Fans on, aircon on and still boiling hot.
Got a call from old neighbours daughter to tell me that he died this morning, he was 95, his family were with him and he just slept away. I whet and told the other neighbours . Sad but a life well lived.
Went to supermarket for a few things! Had a $25 e voucher to use ( dog food refund the other week)
So 3rd day all done and dusted.
Right , London people, can you help? DD1 will be travelling from Scotland to London on 2/1/16 , either by coach or train, what's the best way to get to Heathrow from City centre, another train or by bus? Cheapest if possible
Thanks.
Have a good day, back to ye olde work tomorrow !0 -

1) a YS piece of steak for He Who Knows in W8rose this morning for him to have tomorrow as I'm away with DD1 for the weekend for another concert.
2) Just walked the Cookie monster in the dry, first dry patch all day and we got it right because it's raining slightly now I'm back.
3) Found a lovely game for that Zebra for Christmas in the newsagents this morning.
4) Had stuffed mushrooms for lunch with cream cheese, bacon, truffle oil and a slice of cheddar, one of my favourite things.
5) House clean and tidy, washing done, suitcase packed for tomorrow so hopefully a quiet afternoon and maybe a doze as I had a rotten night last night!0 -

Cheapest will probably be the tube but it takes a while (nearly an hour), Heathrow Express train from Paddington is faster (15 mins plus time to Paddington) but pricey and is shutting down early on 2/1 due to Crossrail engineering. I wouldn't consider a bus for this journey as, if there is traffic (there will be), he would be stuck in it.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

5. Early night, snuggled down into clean sheets and slept well.0 -
Which terminal. mhags?
Terminal 4 ampersand
They had booked return flight from Heathrow- Amsterdam- Melbourne , when it would have been easier to do Glasgow- Amsterdam but have been told it will cost $300 each to change tickets which is quite ridiculous .
So they need to decide on mode of transport to London , either train or bus then out to Heathrow .0 -

Good evening everyone :hello:
A quick 5 pleasures:
1) Chatting with my friend in Dubai. Great to catch up and put the world to rights. We've arranged to visit Chatsworth at Christmas when she's back in the UK.
2) Met a friend of a friend for the first time today. Lovely person - and she covered my class this afternoon. Great compliments about how great my class are!
3) Sausages for supper. yum....
4) Tesco vouchers printed out. Lots of extra points on things which I buy all the time.
5) Cuddles from the cat. She loves it.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0
