  • 1) The rain stopped for long enough for me to walk that Cookie, mind the wind was strong and we both got blown sideways by the odd gust, usually into a puddle, she didn't seem to mind though!

    2) He Who Knows is safely with DD1 tonight and they've got tickets to the RUGBY!!! and they're going to the fish and chip pub for supper before they go, jealous now!!!

    3) DD2 has said I can buy Zebra some toys for Christmas, I was only on books and practical things before, but she's started feeling guilty and now says he can have a few toys too if I want, OH I WANT!!!

    4) I've got myself organised in case we have a power out in this overnight 'Barney' storm and everything I might need is to hand and instantly accessible.

    5) Horrid sore throat and ear I had this morning is feeling slightly better now but I'm coughing well, small mercies!!!
  • LFS: :j Yeah for your order I'm pleased, and as for cake it should be a staple!

    1. All of my interviews are cancelled this week tomorrows one has been filled internally, I felt disheartened, its hard not to, but I re distributed my CV.
    2. The doctor was ok ish, injections 3 times a week (not my favourite pastime) and a few bits and bobs, no point worrying other things until we know more, also it’s handy to be able to fit it in at the moment.
    3. HM Egg mayo and tomato for lunch.
    4. We went to Mr T tonight for lactofree and did our main shop, sadly it’s always many more £ then we go there:(, which is why we only go once a month now as we can’t find anywhere else doing lactofree. We were in shock looking at just how much things have increased in there, we will be doing Christmas from Aldi this year.:rotfl: We did pick up cream buns for 15p and 4 bags of 1kg local potato’s for 5 pence each.
    5. I did a bit more filing but after an hour I bailed out as I just seemed to be building up different piles to file after a while. It’s getting there now, I reckon just one more go and the filing will be complete. Can’t wait I will complete it :T!!

    Quick pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Smaller son's favourite TA with him today and they had a game of football at lunchtime.

    3) Smaller son's school report here and all OK.

    4) Bigger son did homework (eventually...)

    5) Work went better than yesterday (that wouldn't be hard - what a ridiculous day!) and a new colleague said the bits of the job he finds dreadful and they are the bits that I have struggled with every day!

    6) Went to town after work to try and buy the Sinter Klaas present (eagle eyed readers may remember this is where the extended family draw names and we buy a tiny present for "our" person but the packaging has to be well designed with a poem). I have my brother this year and have written the poem but can't get a present to fit!

    7) Christmas cards arrived from National Autistic Society. I had given up on Autism West Midlands ever selling theirs but they are on their website now - too late!

    8) My school friend phoned. She moved recently so the phone was only connected yesterday.

    9) The water went off for a while during the storm but the electricity pretty much stayed on.

    10) In bed now with 2 hwb.

Hello from the land of ever so warm !

    Day off number 2

Muuuuuum, can you run me to school? Me....I'm still in my jammies! No one will see you....no one did! If you had said to me 6 months ago I would be driving in my pjs.....!

    Ironing done whilst watching Holby.

Went to local cafe for lunch with DD1 , having some concerns about her trip to Europe and safety , her travel companion has no concerns which is upsetting DD1.... 2 weeks tomorrow till they go. They have an appointment with travel agent tomorrow .

Had an appointment with DD2 after school , we were en route when it was cancelled ....luckily we were at a bit of road we could easily turn back from.

3 bedrooms are tidied.....oops and estate agent 'cancelled'

Just having eggy sandwiches for my tea.

Do have a good day :)

mhags - giggling at the cancelled appointment! :D

Desperately sad news about the death of Jonah Lomu. DH was quite shaken when he discovered that JL was only a month older than him.

Pleasures for the last couple of days.

    1) Yesterday was a NSD and NPD! :j :j

    2) Learned more about my school becoming an academy and what that will mean for terms & conditions, pay, continuous service etc. No effect at all.

    3) I was observed this morning teaching Literacy. I survived and the children loved it. The head of school said that every child obviously really enjoyed their learning. :j

    4) Been having a play with this Inspirograph.... http://nathanfriend.io/inspirograph/ Enjoy!

    5) I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! My guilty pleasure!

    6) Probably more seriously, I entered my gas and electricity meter readings into the power provider's website. They want to reduce my monthly direct debit by £3 per month! :j Every little helps!

1 biggest and best - offer for PhD has come through. Unofficial notice in, formal notice by the end of the week :T:j and :eek:
2 good parents evening for DS, he has taken to sixth form far better than I thought possible, with really decent grades
3 not s pleasure - washing machine has been written off for the sake of ball bearings, but need so many associated parts (because of sealed units) that it is prohibitively expensive to repair. Good news is that new machine arrived within 24 hours.
4 doing a 7 songs in 7 days challenge on FB. Really enjoyed selecting the songs (etta James, goo goo dolls, big country, David bowie, Alanis Morisette, pearl jam, and defying gravity- in line with my sig coz I've closed my eyes and leapt)
    5 had hair done.

    Have a good evening
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • The Chinese in Baghdad on Friday 13th July 1990 was not too bad! Apologies for low profile from BoP, I am on phone this week as digs are ...

Look, tomorrow is another early POETS day. And it is holiday next week.
  • My pleasures for today

    1. Dgs out of hospital after being admitted for bad chest infection.
    2. DM seems a bit more cheerful, after losing dsd to BT in March, I think she is finally grieving & letting things out.
    3. Dinner of salmon & bulger wheat cooked by Dh.
    4. A lie in this morning as feeling unwell with cold.
    5. A small profit on eBay sales.

Quick pleasures for today as I am tired.

    1) Not a bad sleep, at least after storm died down.

    2) Not such a tough day at work as previous ones.

    3) Another phone call to my former solicitor - obviously they have no memory of their dealings with me and have destroyed all paperwork :-/ but they have taken the address of the solicitors acting for the building society and are going to try dealing with them directly...

    4) Booked an eye test at last!

    5) Had a bit of a blitz on paperwork.

    6) Gammon for tea.

    7) Enjoyed watching I'm a Celebrity.
  • I’m feeling a little annoyed, Dh has developed bad snoring recently. I broached it with him today and he got defensive instead of talking :(.
    1. Pie and veg for tea tonight. Lunch was gorgeous fresh bread with cheese and coleslaw.:p
    2. Travelled over and took shopping and bits over to dad, to also meet with his new carers. Bless him he buys food he wants but can’t eat:(, so every now and again DH and I have to clear the freezer to make room for pureed food. But it does mean my meal plans have now drastically changed to include 2 whole large cooked chickens, so it’s sarnies, wraps, and a whole host of curry to cook up Thurs.:rotfl:and of course I am sure the animals won't say no.:p
    3. The “office” is nearly there the filing is completed!!!!! So happy, now to de clutter the things that have been put in there where its been used as a bit of a junk room. Then I reckon it will be useable.
    4. Being home I sorted the home insurance, I’m feeling virtuous because I made a mistake… I misread the date as today rather than a month today.:rotfl:
    5. DH put some scrap metal out to be taken, it was there “I kid you not”:o for 15 minutes before there was a knock on the door, well it saves us a tip trip.
