On such a sad, sad day for France I'm going to try hard and find my pleasures. My daughter and friend are due to travel to Europe in just over 2 weeks time. So many innocent people caught up in this carnage, it's just utterly dreadful.

    Pleasures for last two days

Work, work has actually been okay. Main colleague off for next 3 weeks so we went for a cold ,soft drink after work yesterday and she kindly drove me home.

I kindly bought Her flowers ( as I'm nice like that!) but asked florist to split 2 different coloured roses for me , so I took a bunch too. They are lovely.

New guy at work still a bit of an @rse...very bossy and had the cheek to say to MC that I micro manage and am very bossy in my kitchen! Yep....too right I am! I've been there 2 years though....not 2 minutes! He was trying to be very bossy today with 2 of the girls and they just laughed out loud at him! Take him with a pinch of salt girls!

Now new girl who has started ...she is something else! Oh dear! Glad I'm on a day off tomorrow! We are having an open recruitment session on Wednesday evening....see how that goes.

Went out after work for a quick bite to eat and then went for shopping. So blooming expensive! Supermarket has changed its loyalty card system , you used to accrue points and points turned into vouchers every so often. Now you buy something that has an orange sticker and get cash back on that eg buy a loaf of bread for $6.50 get $1.00 reward. They just seem to have added the 'savings' on to the item. Managed to get a few RTC's which are in the freezer .

Also got sausages from work freezer for my freezer. They were leftover from our street party 2 months ago and boss was saying chuck 'em......chuck ' em my way please!

Last week I got a set of wooden crates that were all screwed together that had been used as a display case at work.....getting chucked out .....so they've sat at back door all week , my son unscrewed them today so I shall fill them with plants tomorrow .

    Do have a good weekend.
    sparrernice to 'see' you.
frith thoughts are with your friend and their family .
skinthugs re your work. It's a bit pants!

    Such sad news about France.

Had to work yesterday but just for the morning. Spoke to a colleague who is having problems with her son and I'm not sure how she is managing to work.

    1. Managed to spend time in the garden. I raked up leaves to make leaf mould. It didn't look as if I'd done anything at the end though!!

    2. Picked some butternut squash and had some baked for tea. They were very tasty and so easy to grow.

    3. Long conversations with both son's yesterday.

    4. Enjoyed watching the rugby on Thursday. We won and scored tries. One of which was great. Good chat with other supporters.

    5. Managing to declutter some magazines which DH has taken into work.
He has been given a bottle of wine as a present as a thank you.

skint - bad news about your company. :(
Frith - BTs seem to affect anyone. Horrid things.

Horrid, horrid news came out of Paris whilst the Tigers were playing Stade Francais (who are based in Paris) last night. Apparently when the Stade team came out of the changing rooms after their showers they were all very subdued, as you can imagine.

    Pleasures:

    1) NPD yesterday. Travelled to the rugby by train (ticket bought ages ago), then got a lift back with DH.

    2) Visited the Richard III exhibition in Leicester today. There is a charge to enter, but well worth it. Fascinating stuff. Couldn't see the tomb because the cathedral was closed for a lay meeting.

    3) Time with DH today, including lunch out.

    4) Children in Need at school yesterday. Great to have the discussion with my class about why we raise money for charities. Hoping to make philosophical thinkers out of them at some point!

    5) Freezer just about empty, so almost time to refill it with batch cooking. :D

    1) A lie in. Woke smaller son up at 10.30 :-)

    2) Off to the Millennium Green for a game of football. Hundreds of pears on the grass so took 10 or so. Think they might be Worcesters so must be cooked tomorrow.

    3) Did of a bit of pocket money spending with sons.

    4) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    5) Chips from the van.

    6) Watched Dr Who and Casualty.

    7) In bed again with hwb. Storm blowing outside. Driving lesson for sons in the morning!

    Good Evening !

It's been a beautiful afternoon after a cool and drizzly start.

Woke up at silly o'clock but thankfully didn't have to go to work.

Ironing done ( I do like ironing) , washing after washing done so more ironing to be done.

Out and about with OH, mooch through papers ( still staggered at the news) and read through a magazine lovely customer gave me yesterday ...she also gave me brand new , yet trashy mags....hmmmm...thanks....new guy, do you want these for your girlfriend?

Walked up to hardware store in our wee town and bought some plants for my new to me wooden crates, all planted up thus afternoon.

Met a nice golden lab called Peggy when out with Haggis.

    Back garden tidied up again.

Just been out to get 50% off dog food, so bought 3 bags. Should keep him going for a while.

    Have a good Sunday :)
  • 1) Weather last night not as bad as expected but we had a howling wind all night which made being asleep difficult, dry this morning but still windy, small mercies!

    2) DD2 and that Zebra have decided to visit us over part of the Christmas holidays which is WONDERFUL!!!

    3) Just cooked up a very ancient pack of frozen croissants for breakfast and found they were very nice indeed, I shall buy more.

    4) Went through all the Christmas presents I've collected over the last few months and realised I'm nearly done, nice feeling.

    5) The freezer is beginning to be emptied, I've made conscious decision NOT to buy YS things until all those already in there have been used and it's working!

    Good evening everyone :hello:

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Caught up with a friend today over a coffee.

    2) Made a pea and spinach soup for lunch - enough for two days, then the rest in the freezer.

    3) Trip to Mr T's and I actually stuck to the list! Didn't go off list once; this is a minor miracle. Plenty of ingredients for soup... :o

    4) Caught up with my mum over the phone. She's going (horse) racing tomorrow and was in a pickle over which route to take to the racecourse. Fingers crossed she gets there...

    5) Started to put next year's dates on my calendar. Scary to think about how much is already in the diary - good though, as it means spending time with friends and family.

    Night all

Not posted for a while so been catching up! Such sadness and fear in France (and elsewhere!) & thoughts of you and yours filling my head - hope none of folk and kin have been injured!

My house seems to falling apart one bit at a time - 2 fence panels gone today! added to the not fully working loo, the broken light in the dining room, my incomplete front wall and a tumble dryer that is dead! Kids driving me mad too - everything ends in a fight - I'm exhausted and its Monday again!!!!

Hard to think of pleasures at the moment - so really need to!

    1. Walk along canal side today - blustery but dry and no one ended up in the water! Stopped for cake and drinks - naughty but nice!

    2. Choir good on Thursday but harmonies for some of the Christmas carols are challenging!

    3. Got formal notation of masters pass with merit - not doing the graduation though - lots of money and lots of hassle!

    4. DD1 seems to be doing well in Senegal - pics are amazing - home in just over 3 weeks - gone so quickly!

    5. Finished book yesterday was great except a slightly disappointing ending!!! http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22716194-inside-the-o-briens need to find my next good read!!! nothing I have inspires me!!
