    For today
    1. We went to pick up bits for my car from a friend who deals in car scrap.

    Some pleasures for today.

Lazy old start to our day, one cup of tea turned into two and then bacon sarnies for breakfast, then coffee and coffee....

Finally dressed and went over to pick DM up to take to her eldest brother's house, they are off on a week long coaching holiday tomorrow exploring the south west.

Lovely catch up with my uncle and his wife, first mince pie of the year, HM of course :)

Back home in the twilight, quick walk with the girls, fluorescent collars come in handy.

And finally, sea salt chocolate, my favourite.

Peaceful evening to you all x

Good evening from the land of much heat. A boiling hot 35o....however, tomorrow to be down to 16o so winter woolies back on tomorrow !

This morning I stood out in the garden as sun was just rising , my black bird was singing its heart out on the aerial of next doors roof. Normally I hear but don't see so I just stood for a few minutes and watched him and listened and enjoyed the moment.

As I left for work I smelled the lovely roses overflowing down my garden fence and admired them.

As I walk to the station I always rub my fingers on a huge lavender bush in a garden I pass. I then sniff!

I said good morning to the magpies as they waddle about like little people .

I got off the train and thought what an absolutely perfect morning it was. Blue sky, sun rising and at that stage pleasantly cool with a hint of promise.

I baked , made carrot cakes, two big trays of brownies ( again ...people keep eating them) yoyos. Then made so many breakfasts , we were crazily busy !

Busy, busy day and then home on train. Bakers shop for OHs cakes, popped into see DD1 at work who has been doing a double shift. Then home and straight in the shower. Had it as cold as I could bear.

Washing in and washing out ( I was ironing at 5.30am this morning! ....was just going to to DD2's school dress but kept going!) the good thing about 35o days is the speed that washing dries!

Had some leftovers for tea as will everyone else when they eventually get in!

    Watched Downton ....Awh!

There ...I've covered yesterday's missing pleasures!

    Have a lovely Monday :)
  • where did the weekend go....?

Managed a few pleasures despite the awful weather both days

    1. trip to Ald1 which has been closed for weeks due to building works - cupboards stocked up again and less money spent

    2. ordered some pre-loved DVD's for DS for his xmas stocking. He loves 80's action movies so got him 4 DVD for under a tenner including postage.... one was only 0.01p (with £1.28 postage) ..... shows how little value these things really have, especially when they sell for £9.99 upwards when newly released

    3. also got a cats cradle (bit of string :rotfl: ) with a book for 99p including delivery - mostly for me to play as a bit of nostalgia ! ;)

    4. met up with a friend for coffee at her house

    5. iron blew up (have had it over 10 years) so bought another in Asd@ for £4 - its lovely and lightweight so a good choice for my bad neck and hands

.... wont encourage me to iron more though :rotfl:

    Happy Monday everyone x

  • 1) It's another dry day albeit a trifle breezy out there, my washing line complete with load of washing and also the large concrete block it was set into all blew out together when we had one massively strong gust, He Who Knows is re planting it in new concrete as I type!

    2) Lovely exhilarating walkies with the houndicus this afternoon, her ears blow sideways in the gusts and make it look as if she's wearing a Russian winter hat with ear flaps.

    3) Lunch out at the garden centre, always makes me happy.

    4) Book ordered on A*azon prime was here by 10 this morning, such good service.

    5) Another T*sco points coupon pinned up on the notice board and I now have enough to buy the Christmas gammon joint, super!

Hey MrsLW I don't care what anybody says there is no place your own comfy bed and it's bliss when it's perfect too :)

    1. Well, had a lovely chat with fellow dog walker this morning who gave me a raft more gossip on a certain person - lifted my heart it did :rotfl:I know you shouldn't smile at others downfall but with horrible person it's justified.

    2. Got the L/O lamb in the slow cooker for tonight's dinner - Lamb Korma.

    3. House is clean and tidy and no laundry in basket waiting to be ironed because it was all done yesterday.

    4. Elated, elated, elated I sold one of my big Emma Bridgewater cake plates on fleabay last night. Got a really good price on it and it was one of those things that I had been trying to sell for quite some time. So glad it has gone and the money will be in the bank tomorrow once they have received it okay.

    5. Quiet night in and feet up.
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D

Slightly about, not very much though. Marking way past another sort of anniversary.

    1. New baby girl's crochet jacket here:
    http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-hoodie--hat-hoodie
Obliging pattern. & adapts everything to her purpose, as now, with all pinkie tones of all sorts, but all natural, lots enzed - llama, vicuna, kid mohair, silk, lambswool, angora . Reached end of one colour+row with 3cms to spare, just where it needed to be:-)

    2. Declining veggies souped, blitzed and scrummy - brief lunch+'nana, more shortly, while kettle boils for 1 hwb, maybe even 2! Choice! Excitement!

    3. Will &? won't &? well, Andy H. is just being introduced as newbie on JAM. Might not auto-switch away....on verra. & loves Andy H. Major decision.
Brain-wreck likely. Piping all to poop-deck of Brig of Bop, where new news reveals that World Champ of Evil Elbbarcs is a Nigerian chap.
Check with mhags, please, Other side of continent, so will need large wave.
Did not hear name of Raffles spoken.
No newts were spared in the making of this announcement.

NOTA BENE: ALL COMMENTS BENEATH GRAUNIAD ARTICLE MUST ALSO BE READ.

Not only does Champ. answer to &'s region of birth, but All Blacks are - as in 2011 - Rugby World Cup Champions, for those that remain ignorant
    i.e. no-one within 26,000miles of & :-) What a natural segue glide was that:-)))

& fancies one of those t-shirts.

    4. Felled hollyhocks which have erupted, twice &'s height, through footpath bitumen this year...again. Still picking raspberries, but today's 500gms must surely be the last. & has now thought this 3 times. Also picked probable last rosebud, now in specimen vase.

    5. 3/4 nights of YH vouchers, redeemed against Mr T pts in May, expire end of Nov., so will look later and choose where/when to take off. Love this feeling.

[Well, nothing's odd any more in &utah land. The 2 things I linked here are the VW camper tin of mini jaffa cakes, £5, and the barista coffee console, £6. The links now show, to &, as beef mince and some roasted fowl....don't ask me. I'm just hitting the buttons]
Last tin too dented to give, connectivity cauchemars have re-surfaced and the blutty things have sold out everywhere. Not coming back in until full-price again.[quelle surprise]
Okay RWC+AB bloodline &....to work, rolling maul and ruck, I reckon:-)))

    Good evening everyone :hello:

Great few days - a trip to watch rugby in Exeter. So, my lovely team didn't win but we had a great time. Everyone was so welcoming and had a good laugh. Bonus!

    So my pleasures:

    1) Spending time with friends - and watching rugby :D.

    2) Cuddles with the cat, though she's in and out of the cat flap at the moment... Bonkers thing. ;)

    3) Watching Hugh's War on Waste. Frightening, as ever! DH and I are definitely a whole lot better than we ever were.

    4) DH has done the ironing! :j :j (surely a pleasure?)

    5) My flowers, which were sent 8 days ago, are still looking beautiful! Fabulous!

    Night all xx

Heard quite a lump of Tigs v. Chiefs' commentary on t'wireless, vicky, and thought of you.
Sounded to be a bit of a Steenson roadshow.
