Argh, smaller son decided to update this laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and it is now almost unuseable!

    Pleasures for today (2nd attempt).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Back to school after 2 days off.

    3) More than 50 children off on Tuesday (and it's not a big school). I always worry that I won't be believed when I'm ill but I think I'll be OK this time!

    4) Smaller son had a half day at school so my brother picked him up and took him to play tennis.

    5) Chinese takeaway for tea.

    6) Enjoyed watching Hunted.

    7) Another step closer to rejigging mortgage - what a palaver!

    8) Bank card came for new account so £100 golden hello should follow ;-)

A very up and down week
    1. not really a pleasure but a huge relief knowing my dear man passed away five years ago before the disease or alzheimer's took their toll. Where has the time gone?
    2. A friend got my sewing machine out for me, it's 45 years old and not been used for 15 of those but after a good clean and oil it worked beautifully. My first project is turning some old psychedelic curtain fabric into tote bags to brighten up shopping trips.
    3. Another friend has offered to come and do some heavy work in the garden
    4. Still waiting for the roof to be repaired, the pleasure is the weather has been beautiful so no danger of more flooding. So far. I would like to be able to use the upstairs lights though!
    5. A black squirrel ran down my lilac tree, across the garden and up the wall into the cob nut tree in the orchard. It stayed still long enough for me to go and get my camera and get some super shots of it. The cob nuts are dropping, I've already got a full tub which I'll crush for adding to bread/tea loaves.

    Sweet dreams :)

    5. A lovely soak in the bath whilst reading textbook gah some of those theorists, if they were alive today would be astonished at how progressive we all are now.

    Night all xx

Evening all, Friday round about 6.30pm and we are still daylight...just ! Our clocks go forward this weekend and we briefly are 10 hours ahead of UK until your clocks go back at end of month. It was our first hot day with a hitter weekend to follow.

It was back to work today. We were so busy as it was a public holiday. We hadn't even opened up properly and people were coming in.

OH got train in to work town and then we went out for some food afterwards, I just had cake! He had risotto .

Looking at baby Haggis photos with DD1 ....passed a pleasant half hour with oohs and ahhhs!

Looking forward to flicking through a glossy magazine one of my customers kindly brought me today ( she gets them free at her work) ...I will pass it on once I've read it.

Have a good Friday ( though if feels like a Saturday as its a holiday! )

Poorly people get better soon please!

Ah yes Broomstick, the course was put back a week as the Tutor broke her foot but is hobbling around with crutches, ouch :( it's something have been wanting to do for some time now, used to write a lot years ago but lost in mists of time, time to change that!

    Pleasures for yesterday and today

This glorious sunshine continuing, it's put the paint on my final toms so no needs for the jars had collected to make GT chutney.
Lovely ride on my boy yesterday, weird how other animals don't perceive you as a threat on horseback and are happy for you to get much closer, Hare sat happily and watched us go by.
Successful and thrifty shopping trip this morning, cupboards and freezer full, inc fav coffee and wine.
20% voucher from one of my fav clothes websites so jeans ordered ready for colder weather.
Have booked long weekend in the Peak District for two weeks time, last six months have been tough for me and OH so will be good to get away, time just for us, perfect!
Paella for tea with wine of course, weekend is here :j

5 Back on the nest. Came back with broken glass and beads yestereve. Lass from sweetie shop was at mill last day, and BoP, being kind to all, bought the usual liquorice bits. Unfortunatley, the coconut mushrooms did not travel too well again! Rubs Tum.

4 Went to w8rz this morn to get the fruits for the xmas bits and that is it girls, offers are there. Get it in. Saw the pitiful offerings on the shelves for xmas. They will be left on the self. Removed some evil items from display.

2 Morrow BoP is on tour with his new alloy wheels, purchased last week! Nice! Sunglasses ready!

    Evening all :D

    Five pleasures for Friday:

    1. A couple of hours at the allotment tidying up and planning how to get a few more things planted for over winter and what to dig and by when.

    2. Yet more deep cleaning of the house. I'm even doing things like the paintwork and the plug sockets which is unheard of.:) The bits I've done are looking lovely. (Lots more to go!!!)

    3. Returned library books and had a nice chat with the woman at the desk. Sorted out ordering two inter-library loan books which cost a fortune to get but they are so important to my work I'm going to need to spend time with them and sitting in our local non-lending academic library will take too many visits. Much easier to read them at home and I'm really looking forward to getting them.

    4. Listening to Wimsey on R4 iplayer while cleaning. Somehow I'd missed 'Five Red Herrings' before on paper or audio. I like having 8 x 30 min episodes to have as company alongside boring jobs.

    5. Knowing that there's just one Magnum sitting in the freezer and I'm the only person at home this weekend so I think it has my name on it. :rotfl:

    Sweet dreams

  • 1) Skype with my Zebra and his mum and nice long phone chat with DD1.

    2) He Who Knows had a really good days fishing, bless him!

    3) Found a nice padded CS denim jacket for Zebra for the spring, when he's grown longer armies.

    4) Saw my lovely neighbours daughter this afternoon and they've now found a tiny 2 bed house to rent with a garden and it's 2 minutes from here, she and 'bump' are both doing well and it will be really nice to have them back in the village, especially when 'bump' arrives in February.

    5) Found a really useful and comprehensive guide to Herbs their uses in Oxfam this morning.
