Hello - i have been very remiss. Can't even remember the last time i posted, so apologies for any repetitions

    1. Your pleasures are always a pleasure. I am sure you will all understand when i say particularly Mhags at the moment.
    2. Finished DS bedroom. I think he likes it as he has spent so much time in there this week.
    3. carrot, squash and coconut soup
4 more decluttering - a boot full to the tip another to the chazzer. Starting the paperwork - loads in the recycling, including my wedding cards. It seems i don't need to keep these things to know i am (happily) married. Couldn't even be bothered to read them :o
    5. new company car - it's electric.
    6. trip to York on the train with the marking. Lunch in a wholefood cafe (i tend to seek these out on my travels, as a point of focus and for ideas). This one was a bit meh, but it was nice sitting in a sheltered courtyard in the sun - and the rain :rotfl:
    7. an early morning text from DD "Mummy come to Southend to give me cuddles - and make me food" - poor thing was a little under the weather. Not sure if the cuddles or food were wanted most :rotfl:
    8. DS still working hard on revision. There are different policies in place for different pupils regarding study leave. he is supposed to be in school all the time due to his lack of commitment in German. Well b*lls to that - he will do far more work here so he is <<ahem>> off school ill today and is currently revising hard for tomorrow's English and doing some maths which is the only lesson he had today for which he has yet to sit the exam.
    9. My outfit has arrived for Saturday's fancy dress do - it is :rotfl:
    10. One more batch of marking to go :T

Have a great day all - I am off to a staff forum where major changes are to be announced (again)
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • 1) Found an almost new fleece for my DGS for £1 at the charity shop this morning.

    2) Picked up a punnet of locally grown strawberries at the greengrocer for 99p....weighed 600g!

    3) Warm enough outside to have lunch in the garden today.

    4) Rhubarb 'almost' jam made yesterday had actually set when it cooled down I discovered this morning, with relief!

    5) Foxgloves in the front hedge have all opened flowers in the sun and look lovely.

    1) trying out different alarms on my puter - this morning was 'bells' made me jump out of my skin as well as bed. will stick to birds in future!

Just seen this and thought "I didn't realise it was possible to get your computer to do an alarm call for you".

    How do you do that?

Is it something on YouTube or something?

I'm wide awake in the middle of the night! I went to bed and fell asleep as usual but woke with a start and a crick in my neck.

Thursday ( as I'm now on Friday by 1 hour!) came and went much the same as the last few days.

Work was okay, I baked a lot , which I enjoy, so that was fine. Main colleague was feeling poorly and then had an upset from home so felt a tad ( a very tiny tad) guilty as I left work early to go to hospital.
I'm not sitting eating grapes whilst visiting OH, I'm helping him with his personal care, helping him to communicate with the many people involved in his care, advocating on his behalf as it's so much effort and energy for him to use. From leaving work to getting to the ward takes about an hour.
I appreciate getting away from work early but feel it's sometimes looked on as if I'm skiving. Maybe I'm being over sensitive. Don't feel that with boss just with some of the others as they are left in the lurch of a busy lunch. I'm also cramming 7 hours work into 5! And out of the house for 14 hours.

Anyway, I got to the ward and was upset to see an overfull rubbish bag attached to his bed table, no cup to drink from , him in pain and something we were told would be done the day before hadn't been done and some simple topical pain killer hadn't been given and I started to cry. I appreciate that the staff are busy but these are basic care requirements that were just not met. I'm also aware that I am very tired and over sensitive but I was upset at what I came in to. He's 'too nice' to trouble them .....I was not so much!
Anyway, he improves slowly but surely, still some areas of concern and he has much pain at times which is always difficult for me and obviously for him. But from where he was this time last week, it's all going in the right direction.

My daily chat with our 'neighbour', I think we take encouragement from each other.

Giving up on a crap book...honestly how some books are published I've no idea! It was one I'd picked up from the library magazine swap box .....no wonder it was in there! The pleasure was that I let myself stop reading it....once upon a time I'd have persevered.....life's too short to waste time reading rubbish .

I had chicken a la king and rice for my very late lunch / early tea.

My friend picked me up, good chat/ moan on the way home.

Making the decision not to send out my daily email update....due to lack of response from some certain people , I just thought nah! Can't be @rsed!

Home to my family and cold left over pizza and a dog walk! Roll on some normality ( of a very different kind , I know) returning when OH gets home , hopefully next week. Chit chat with kids and then into bed!

Right, I need to try and get back to sleep...alarm goes of in exactly 4 hours and I will start all over again....!

    Have a good day :)

Oh and I learned a new thing yesterday , I'd never heard of the word crepuscular Mrs LW, so I had to look it up and I shared my knowledge with colleagues and OH!

    BoP ... ginger nuts !

Frith .. well dodged on ill child

Mhags good to see your update but not so good to hear about hospital treatment ... hope your OH gets home soon x

Well to top off the worst weeks holiday I've ever had.... I have put my back out :(

    So I need some pleasures

    1. car started this morning - so must be all fixed now

    2. shopping in Ald! came under budget

    3. got lots of stuff for a BBQ when DP's come down on Monday (fingers crossed for good bank holiday weather ! )

    4. put my back out whilst unpacking shopping, but managed to dose up on prescription painkillers and meet friend for lunch at Toby. Used the £10 voucher they sent me as compo for a previous complaint so we only had to pay for drinks. Got re-fillable cokes and sat outside with lovely sun warming my back

    5. got home and managed to hobble to another friends house in next road for a cuppa. Was starting to seize up and am supposed to keep moving. Thank goodness for pain meds

At least I have not had to contend with all this carp whilst also going to work this week ... am thankful for small mercies as they say .. and mindful that my problems are minor compared to others on here so apologies ..sorry for the moaning :o
