Good evening everyone :hello:
mhags - sorry to hear about the lack of care for your DH, but very positive that he could be home mid-week. He'll be able to recover more quickly surrounded by his home comforts (& family)
So, quite a busy few days. Pleasures are as follows and not necessarily in any order. Or not intentionally anyway!
1) Spent yesterday and last night in Bath for a rugby match. We didn't win, but we had THE BEST time. A great laugh and I had my photo taken with many players. Even DH got in on the action.
2) Went to see "Far From The Madding Crowd" on Friday at the cinema in the local arts centre. Really enjoyed it. Was there on my own, having not found anyone to go with me.
3) Bought a scratching post for our new cat from Arg*s using Nectar points to pay for it! Bonus!
4) Picked up our new cat, Millie. We've sort of rescued her. A family in school had two cats, but Millie was being traumatised by her brother and not able to cope with the 5 noisy children in the house. The mother decided that the best thing to do was to try to rehome her, which was where I stepped in! I was asking around some of the mothers, who seem to have a tight knit network, should anyone know of any cats/kittens which need rehoming - lo and behold it took 12 hours to hear of Millie!
5) Packaged up a present to send to my friend who has just had a baby. I'll be at the front of the queue for the post office on Tuesday morning to post it!
Night all. It's been a busy weekend!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

2) and at the end the voluntary was schubert's marche militaire. brilliant. reminded me of fairground organs
3) congregational lunch - not our usual restaurant cos that was closed so we were on separate smaller tables, but managed to 'get around'
4) then a few of us went on for a hot drink at the dca. good to catch up with B who i haven't seen for a while
5) lift home from S, walked dogs and have been reading my book and listening to a variety of music, including a rather unusual rendition of bohemian rhapsody. get me to a steam rally! http://www.wimp.com/rhapsody-organ/MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Stayed Saturday-Sunday at my school friend's house in Oxfordshire.
2) Stopped at Snowshill Manor on the way home. What a strange place!
3) Bean casserole in their caf! for lunch.
4) Stopped at mum and dad's on the way home to see the pheasant chick. They found it abandoned so it's living in a cardboard box in the moment but likes a lot of fuss.
5) Brother came here for tea.
6) Lots of post when I got home including that smaller son's appointment has been brought forward from September to June.
7) Lots of phone calls from smaller son with the upshot that he is still in pain (15th course of antibiotics underway) and could frankly do with his operation tonight. :-/
8) Bedtime in a mo and will catch up with the Archers.0 -

2. Baby bunnies looking big fat healthy and cute!

mhags sending love and prayers as always, excellent news that Mr mhags has been moved on. Good progress!
1. Thursday was pulm rehab class with a talk by a physio who asked us who who gets breakfast every morning. I was surprised that only two of us didn't put our hands up, then it occurred to us she'd said breathless! Her slight speech impediment had us guessing about several words and biting our tongues to stop smiling.
2. Friday was swimming followed by shopping for Saturday. Out to an art exhibition and supper with friends
3. To a convention in Norfolk on Saturday, our local branch provided part of the buffet. Stopped at Walpole St Peter on the way home to visit the church and collect some details of the upcoming flower festival. What a beautiful church, it was a huge privilege to visit the place my where grandparents, great grandparents and several generations before them used to worship.
4. Sunday was spent having dinner, tea and supper with fellowship friends and planning a trip to Cyprus.
5, Monday, today, is a day of rest, other than housework, laundry, gardening, baking etc., before some local friends visit to organise a book club.
I'll sleep like a log tonight!0 -
1. Threw open all the upstairs windows while I tidied and decluttered
2. Made a junk room useful again
3. Enjoyed the sun while I swept up the back patio after OH covered it in broken bricks, plaster, etc while DIYing
4. Had plenty of water breaks and ACTUALLY drank water, not fizzy stuff
5. Realised I have far too many clothes and happily filled donation bags with them.Looking ahead0 -
1) Phone call from DD1 who is helping pupils fund raise for a World Challenge Expedition to Borneo next year to say the people they'd been catering for for the last 3 days have had a whip round and donated an extra £350 to the 16 very hard working youngsters who have fed, watered and generally looked after them from 8.30 am to 9 pm, so generous.
2) On my way home on the train I saw roe deer, a white egret in a pond in Berkshire and Red Kites over Reading station, magic!
3) Making the chickpea and spinach curry for us tonight as I think He Who Knows will enjoy it too.
4) DD2 thinks her last exam to fully qualify as a GP after starting Med School 13 years ago went OK on Saturday, proud Mum here.
5) Lovely walk through the footpaths with the hub and the dog this afternoon after said dog gave me a fright and damaged his nasal tumour so is now wearing a lampshade collar, hoping our vet has ideas to let him NOT wear it as he hates the thing like billy oh!0
