    A mix of pleasures within
A wonderful weekend camping at a steam fair with lots of people we meet year on year which makes it lovely, mostly great weather and an invite to another show in June we are looking forward to. :pTrays of geraniums where acquired now I need to plant 30 of them.:rotfl:

I took today off today after waking up feeling terrible, but a little sleep and I am a lot better, so a bacon buttie, re filled the bird feeders after the woodpecker complained.:o

Work isn’t turning out to well :( ah well the search continues. They called me on my way to Norfolk at 6pm on a bank holiday Friday, needless to say I ignored it and DH was not impressed at them. It’s not the right environment for me. But for now it continues until something else can be sorted.

Oh and MSE wise we stuck seriously to a budget, and also saved 100 off the car insurance by going else where, just as well as the reduced price was our budget as well…:rotfl:
  • 1) Still got my hound, was worried this mornings visit to the vet might be his last so today is OK!

    2) The ironing is done and put away, I'm just sad enough to enjoy ironing.

    3) Lovely sunny day out there and we have some really pretty irises in bloom in the garden in a bed with some open foxgloves, pretty combination of colours.

    4) First picking of peas from the polytunnel, delicious.

    5) DD1 arrived safely in Munich where she's on tour with the choir for a few days, lovely city, lovely Germany, am jealous!

    1. Dropped off a bootload of donation bags (7 x Re-bag ones) and then didn't buy anything else while I was there!
    2. Hung out a load of washing before I left and it's now in the basket ready to be put away.
    3. Defrosting chicken for dinner - much nicer than pre-packaged food
    4. Having a spoonful of honey for a persistent sore throat/cough. Tastes better than cough syrup and better for me ...
    Looking ahead

Keep up the good work Mhags you are doing alright - even if you think you are not, you are in fact doing really well. It will be a boon for you as well not racing back and forth to the hospital so at least now you can come home and just be yourself. People generally pick up better when they are in their home environment and progress is quite quick too :)

    1. Went into Newcastle this morning had some jobs to do and paid two cheques into the bank. Not huge whopping cheques but a couple of nice surprises from shares that I have.

    2. Had a lovely wander around John Lewis and Fenwick's. Didn't buy anything at all in John Lewis, just didn't feel that I needed anything - nice feeling that. Clothes in M&S were a horror

    3. Got a couple of pieces of make-up from Fenwick's not a massive user of make-up, but just needed these as a top up as I am close to running out. Made an appointment for a make-up make over as well.

    4. Picked up another tub of my hollowed Baby Bottom Butter from Waitrose on the way home and some reduced items as well. BBB keeps the wrinkles and creepiness around my eyes at bay and does a fabby job of moisturising my lips so it's a bargain at £3.20 for a big pot that seems to last ages.

5.Sat out in the conservatory this afternoon, sun shining, with a nice cup of tea and a slice of reduced fruit cake :D always tastes better when it's been marked down :D
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D

ampersand - tricky one! ;) We're a little annoyed that both teams have big money men behind them... Bath fans were lovely though, and less abusive than Sarries fans. (horrendous experience when I visited Sarries away).

    Pleasures:

    1) Millie persuaded me that she wanted to investigate what is upstairs. More dusting done as she wriggled around! Signed her up for the local vet too, who have two branches - one where she used to live and one in our town. Met a LOVELY vet when I popped in. Yes, I think I've chosen the right one for her. :rotfl:

    2) Met a friend for coffee. She had good news as she's just been offered (and accepted) a brand new job! :j

    3) Trip to Mr T's for a "big shop".

    4) Chicken stir fry for supper. Mmmm, lovely and simple.

    5) Another small payout from TopCashback! :j :j

    Pleasures for today (Tuesday)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Made a few admin phone calls.

    3) Went to the doctors about various bits including my foot. Looks like I have plantar fasciitis. :-( She suggested buying some orthotics. Which I did and stumbled around painfully for an hour or so before discovering I'd got the wrong ones in each shoe! Amazingly, swapped over, they are marvellous and I can walk normally again. :-)

    4) Popped to Sainsburys for a big shop before boys come home (tomorrow) and got the coffee grounds from the caf! for the allotment.

    5) Went to Ludlow and got a lovely Mistral dress from the charity shops.

    6) Then came a phone call of doom and I took smaller son to local (diddy) hospital then to major A and E. He's out again now with another prescription and another doctor telling him he needs this operation!

    7) In bed now with 2 hwb and about to watch Holby City.

Still daylight here in Melbourne, for another half hour or so.
It's been a very pleasant day, mild(ish) and a pretty blue sky...cool wind though but nice if you were out if the wind.

Not a good sleep at all for either of us, up to administer pain control through the night and then aaaargh! My alarm went off at 5.00am...snooze, snooze, snooze until I couldn't get away with it any longer, dog dealt with and OHs meds dealt with and then drove to work.

I absolutely did NOT knock myself out at work today. I've been trying to fit in a 7 hour day to a 5 hour one last few weeks and today I just thought nah! Even though it was a 6.5 hour shift today as boss was off but I just thought I'd take my time rather than rushing around like a daftie .

Home and nice hot shower and then waited for district nurse to come....I may have had some rtc chocolate cake whilst I waited.....it was very rich though.

Popped over to salon to see if I could get an appointment to get eyebrows waxed ....was I free now? Absolutely!

Popped next door to Salvos for a mooch. Had left and then popped back in as there's a sofa I like and I wanted to check if they had brought the price down yet...it's been in the window for weeks and I reckon they're asking to much....anyway....in the men's section I saw a hoody....which was actually a ladies, was from UK , new look still with price tag on of £19 ( $38) and it was marked at $7.25 ( £3.60) and I got it for $$3.60 as it was half price orange tag week (£1.80) anyway...lady at till, who can be a tad grumpy, wasn't impressed that I was getting a Britsh thing so cheap! Me....I was rather chuffed with my bargain and it will do me for dog walks!

Veg shop.....a cauli for $1 , which is very cheap and some pumpkin which is very cheap just now, as its in season. These will be made into soup. I made pumpkin soup at work this morning and brought some home for OH.

Then I've came home and put my feet up!

Thank you for your concern, I will actually get more me time now OH is at home, I did all the above whilst he was having a snoozette.

Have just sent son up for fish and chips for tea, DD1 does the ironing and DD2 will do the dishwasher, they all do help with chores anyway but are all working / studying too and I don't want this to be a miserable time for us all....anymore than it has to.

Financially I need to do some work and have already cut my hours down just about as much as I can afford too. This week I'm working 22 hours less than normal....quite a drop in pay! Also, work provides a place of ' normality' and is a place to cook and bake which I enjoy, I appreciate the company and humour of my colleagues so its not a bad place to be. Last time I kept working almost full time to the detriment of my well being a year later. Lessons have been learned!

Haggis dog enjoyed his freebie this morning, he normally has dry food so a tub of wet food was a treat....not sure if it touched the sides though....he usually just inhales his food!

Right, chip butty to look forward to and then masterchef later!

Have a wonderful Wednesday and hello to Miss Milly cat. Hope she soon settles in Vicky

ETA got a $20 loyalty voucher from supermarket ....thank you very much .
