Thankfully the rest of Tuesday was uneventful !

    Pleasures for today

    1. free breakdown cover included in my warranty. They managed to get the car started & diagnosed as needing a new battery as the old one is not holding its charge (do I sound like I know what I'm talking about... ha ha )

    2. drove to car dealership for while-u-wait battery fitting. Drank a couple of cups of free tea and munched free biscuits

    3. Not such a pleasure - the price of the "special" battery - trust me to pick a car with the most expensive battery has to have special stop start £190  including vat fitting etc. However I have been thinking of taking out a service plan for a while now and when they offered one they advised it included 10% off parts. So after a bit of bartering its due to start on 1 July but they agreed to give me 10% off todays bill and 10% off my service next week as well

    4. went out with a friend to The Range for some retail therapy - but managed not to spend anything :money: (Well I didn't have anything left after that car bill !)

    5. roast chicken dinner for tea ... nom nom

    Good evening all :hello:

mhagster - I look to your posts first. Glad DH is progressing.

ampersand - have you ever read Danny Wallace's "Yes Man"? Brilliant, if you haven't. He decides in one part to respond to some dodgy e-mails, resulting in much hilarity. :rotfl:

Pleasures for the last couple of days:

    1) Been to a very relaxing Body Balance class this evening. I feel chilled!

    2) Vat of bolognese sauce made yesterday. Two portions eaten last night and another four in the freezer!

    3) Tonight's supper was a farmers' market spread: trout pate, smoked salmon, salad... delicious!

    4) My list of "fun things to do" is being edited. It's something I found in this book.

    5) One of my students from this year text me to say she has a job! That's both students with a teaching job! :j :j :j Seriously delighted for both of them as they were both fantastic.

    Pleasures for yesterday and today:

    Yesterday:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Jumping in the air at the right time so I avoided pupil being very ill. :-/ Just a bit on my shoes.

    3) Learned something in science that I never understood pre GCSEs!

    4) Went to see my friend in town after work.

    5) Enjoyed Holby City.

    Today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Took some plants in to work to sell.

    3) Phone call from bigger son while I was at work that the school bus had broken down in next village (2.5 miles away) and he had walked home. I suggested he get on line and look up the buses from here into the town where his school is. Or stay at home. He found there is actually a bus besides the school bus but not at a sensible time.

Phoned him again at my break time - no answer. Phoned his high school - he had not been registered and a few people had come from his bus, having got lifts.

I said I was quite worried if he was neither at home or school and they said they would get back to me and leave an answering machine message. Picked up my message at lunchtime and they were "full of admiration" for son who had WALKED TO SCHOOL! 7 miles!!!

    4) Made HM burgers for tea.

    5) All enjoyed The Island.

    6) Smaller son had a better day today (was not happy at school yesterday) and is learning to code

    7) Laughing tonight because bigger son thinks you pronounce his friend's surname as Boot- ON. Like boot - off, boot-ON! Or a French button! I've been trying to teach him it's BOOTun but am not sure myself now!

Quick visit with pleasures before bed - I really need to start going to bed earlier as I am so tired at the moment and I think that is really affecting my mood!

    1. Mhags sounds like things are going ok post op which is a great pleasure
    2. Baby bunnies still ok!
    3. Loving my new management team
    4. 3 day weekend and then 2 study days next week - so no excuse to not get a good chunk of writing done by next weekend - also counted up study days taken to date and still have another day and a half to plan in over the next few weeks!
    5. DD3s school music concert tonight - after almost 20 years of having kids in primary school it has been the last time I have listened to squeaky clarinets and out of tune violins - but it was a pleasure and I was slightly emotional and the choir with my DD3 in was fab!!!

Pleased to hear of DH's progress mhags.

    1. I was given an ortho pillow this morning so I can sit more comfortably in bed to read. Reading is my 'sleeping pill', a few pages and I'm into the land of nod
    2. A lovely sunny day so managed to find spaces for the 40 bedding plants I just had to buy as they were such a bargain. I must not go out on market days again! Also seeded some bare patches of lawn, hopefully it will grow nice and thick so I can mow it again. Which reminds me of
    http://www.serenityinthegarden.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/god-and-st-francis-discussing-lawns.html
    3. Made a big pot of veg soup, some for tasty, economical teas this week and some in the freezer
    4. Almost 50 attended the meeting this evening in my small town. There's a lot of us about! Not all from here, of course :). They'd heard who was speaking, she's very inspirational so always draws a good 'audience'.
    5. I woke up this morning with a lovely warm brown glow. Thanks to Mr Nivea I don't have to spend my money on spray tans.

    Sweet dreams :)
