Good evening everyone :hello:
A busy weekend and we're through to the semi-finals of the Premiership (rugby). :j :j
Frith - your experience sounds very familiar to a friend who has been a TA at her local secondary school. In fact, if you didn't have your two DS then I'd have thought that you were her! Unfortunately, my friend is so fed up that she's handed in her notice and leaves this forthcoming Friday.
Plenty of pleasures:
1) Tickets bought for next weekend's semi-final in Bath. Hotel booked outside Bath, considering to stay in Bath would be a minimum of £190.:eek::eek: Needless to say, I also managed to go through TopCashback to get a tiny bit of money back.
2) Great match yesterday and stayed after the match to have a dance to the live band.
3) Trip to Mr T's today and managed to steer clear from things I didn't need. Always a bonus!
4) Ironing mountain completed, thanks to DH.
5) Discovered that a tiny local theatre has an excellent programme of well-known comedians. I suspect it's for trying out of materials for the rest of their tours. Now to work out what we can realistically go to!
6) Delicious salad for supper. Very full now.
7) Almost forgot about going to our farmers' market yesterday. A great variety of local produce at good prices. Well worth it.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

I rarely lose lonnnnnng posts and I just lost one. Shazbat.
I had a lovely birthday and have just counted my blessings - the love of friends and family is right at the top.
1. Great day with DD and CS bargains.
Copy of FB post: I had the most wonderful day.
I very rarely get the chance to do things with my daughter, and despite my arthritis we managed to do the coffee-shop-lunch-shop thing in the nearest biggish town.
It took me 25 minutes to walk home from the bus stop, but boy was it worth it. I had my new-ish shopping trolley with seat which turned out to be extremely useful.
In my home town I use a trike to get around and two sticks, but I can't walk around shops much with them - for supermarkets, I have trollies.
I bought some really nice tops from a CS that I've never been in to before, two that hadn't been worn, both of them still had the see-through plastic 'button bags' attached. One was BHS, long sleeved long line and £1.99, the other was a Damart floral blouse and 59p (!).
My daughter got skirts, tops, a cardigan and some gorgeous chunky jewellery.
2. Meal out with dear friends, so many blessings in their company.
3. A new friend , a friend of a dear friend.
4. Canine company courtesy of 3.
5. Friend undergoing radiotherapy is doing well, tho tired.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
My pleasures for last few days
1. Been on a course this weekend for my volunteering and it was really useful.
2. Tube running ok so no hiccups on journey.
3. Met lots of new people who told me I was always smiling, laughing and seemed to give out positive energy. (It was part of an exercise)
4. Ds2 being really chatty tonight.
5. Dgs 1st birthday will see him for his party on Saturday.
6. Lovely sunshine again.
7. Chatting to my dm who is keeping herself busy after losing my Dsd in March.
8. Had a really nice evening with Dh
9. Lovely dinner cooked by dh.
10. A couple of eBay sales.
11. More stuff listed on eBay.
Mhags - good to read your dh has had a better night. Thinking of you and your family.0 -
Evening all...it's Monday night, chilly , heating's just gone on and curtains just been closed. It's been another nice day although very cool this morning, wooly hat on for dog walk!
Woke early .
Phoned friend from home.
Took DD2 to school.
walked dog
Train into city, finished the book I'd started yesterday.
Straight onto tram and up to hospital.
A very busy day for OH, lots of people in to see him and he was just so exhausted by it all. He got his tracheostomy tube out today which is a very positive move. I went down for lunch when this was happening and had some pasta ...it was fairly unremarkable but filled me up.
I/we had a chat with social worker and then psychologist who are part of the larger team . It was good to talk and to someone who's not emotionally involved. Told the psychologist about you lot and how I write here every day!
Decided to leave an hour earlier than I'd planned , OH was just so sleepy so I left, just got a tram, just got a train and luckily it was an express train so missed out lots of stations. So I was home before I'd planned on leaving which was nice. Still daylight and missed rush hour on train
Managed to get a vets appointment with Haggis, I'm a bit concerned that his eyes look 'cloudy' so wanted to check it out, vet agreed with me , we've to keep an 'eye!' On it and they will refer us to a specialist if required.
He loves the vets! Dragged me up the driveway and inhaled his treats!
Chicken pie and mashed potatoes for tea.
Sitting with my feet up and watching australian masterchef which has just started a new series

1) Best pleasure of the day is getting off the bus at lunchtime having ventured into the big city for some necessary purchases, and coming back to the village where the air is clean!!!
2) Finding a small vase in a charity shop that matches the portugese conimbriga pottery that I have a collection of.
3) Persuading a DH with a sorely tooth to phone the dentist and them having an appointment at 4.55 this afternoon.
4) Finding a book of recipes for No Oven baking/no cook bars etc. at a very reasonable price.
5) It's actually stopped raining for long enough to let that hound and I not get wet on afternoon walkies, Yay!!!0
