:heartpuls And the beat goes on!

5 If you're reading this at work. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Yet another Bopping day off!

4 Still not a hector after yesterday. BoPsie consoled BoP with some wobbleade! But unfortunately it does not wash away the tears! Arrgh. Will have to stay one away from DD for another year!

3 Went out to guess where this day!

2 Night is a Games night, where we could have live Scrabble, for the watchers! As usual, the rules shall be plaiced under the bored. And BoPsie is one win away, still, from the chance of getiing within one win of going two ahead!

1 We occasionally stumble over the truth but most of us pick ourselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened.

McCulloch - belated happy birthday! Splendid cs spree... I admire your shazbat & raise you yotz.
VickyA - you'll be Samosa'ing plastic bags next - then off & running the Full Kon Marie...
Frith - weeping in the shrubbery is Wrong - be politely firm with the Head that staff should not be turfing you out of class?
mhagster - he's well enough to be grumpy? And unpiped enough to be allowed to shower! Splendid news & Well Done You keeping on. <waves to psychologist>
Skint yet Again - at least exam time is just one at a time this year. Best of luck with fine needle <nerve fails> & happy week off!
    BoP - them's beautiful wheels.
sparrer - I am *dreadful* at packing, so put things in Nice Useful Bags. Poundstretcher had some fun faux designer ones, Booth did a glorious dry stone wall one & I startled relatives with the "Knitted woolly" Waitrose ones last year...
Purple kitten - oh good - someone else's to do list smirking back at them...

    OS Pleasures recently
More drilling with the wrong mouse hand. More difficult now I'm aware of it - conscious mind interfering with unconscious habit. That I use the 'usual' hand at home probably doesn't help!

Eavesdropping on a Scouse accent "can we get someone to force the door as it's only a magnet" - well, that's meat to my imagination!

Leaving the office an hour early. Another day of flexi planned, hurrah, and Summer Leave thrashed out with family, agreed by two managers & encoded!

Sons' expressions at father's snack (penguin biscuit with brown sauce topping) - two appalled, one resigned!

Both apple trees are preparing blossom! Lovely deep pink buds amongst the green leaves. The oak is calm yet but it's sessile - despite the love, it won't be hurried. Pease still alive so far - a relief as I feared they'd outrun their strength on the windowsill.

Chuckles over 'human rights to be replaced by warhammer rules' (shrewd marketing by *someone*) & vigorous sneering at Games Workshop's new brushes. (Er, possibly a teenage boy thing?)

Ambling round the fenceline, seeing where the brambles should be trimmed, where Himself wants us to plant hazel to thicken up bare patches and frankly crooning at all the green tips along the edible hedge.

Ah, the growl of the power saw as the brown element chop up trees to turn. Then the insistent shrill of the smoke detector, as I cook: Himself has overdone it and can't grip...

Laughing with the mechanic as I'm trying to sort an MOT date whilst waiting for a scout meeting to start - I think he's thinking I'm surrounded by 10 year olds - in fact, it's leaders & the new District Commissioner. (*Far* more washing up.)

The annual brush & bottle day (we bring brushes etc to clear up, repaint etc & then we drink what's in the bottles) is planned - it seems there will be a bouncy castle. Various leaders clearly delighted by the idea!

Colleague back in from weekend - he'd been helping clear some weeds with Scouts whilst his lads were there all weekend. Collective potent niff of woodsmoke, still-sealed packets of soap & "but Dad, you said if they didn't stick" came back to haunt.

It's chucking it down with rain & I'm delighted. Both as I'm inside (& have a good raincoat with me) but also as I won't have to water the pease patch tonight.

Big hugs to all who need them, love strength & cake likewise and blimey, time off on the horizon is good for morale!

I shall try to update saturday, sunday and today on the second best laptop. Mr Nobody has broken the mousepad on the proper laptop...

    Saturday:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Bigger son went off for a long bike ride and bonfire with his friends.

    3) Smaller son and I planted courgettes and squash on the allotment. It's not looking too bad, considering how neglected it is these days.

    4) Had our lunch in Sainsburys.

    5) Still no sign of bigger son so we went swimming (with my brother) without him.

    6) Smaller son cycled to brother's house then they had a quick bike ride after swimming.

    7) Enjoyed watching Casualty.

    8) Nearly forgot!! The exhaust (long hanging by a thread but completely inaccessible) fell in half outside Sainsburys so we had to drive to Kwikfit with it dragging on the road. Lots of people pointing and waving - yes, we know!! Kwikfit pieced it back together, cobbled together a bracket and did it for nothing!

    Sunday:

    1) Smaller son went on a sponsored walk with brother. Bigger son went off on a stroppy walk of his own...

    2) Retrieved bigger son half a mile down the road and took him back to the hall for a sandwich.

    3) Went to Wightwick in the afternoon to look at the Arts and Crafts bits.

    4) Found a geocache.

    5) Phone call from school friend.

    6) Bigger son helped me take stove etc apart for its yearly clean out.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Stunned by how rude a member of staff was today to a trainee member of staff. In fact, am still stunned whilst typing this! So at least I haven't received that kind of treatment. :-/ Mucked up the arrangements for one young man today at breaktime (my mistake) but managed to sneak him some cake from the staffroom.

    3) Did charity shops in Malvern after school and managed a parallel park perfectly, on very steep hill, in huge and ancient MPV, onto the wrong side of the road. I never really learned parallel parking properly as, growing up in the country, I never had to park on a street! Got an M and S top suitable for work and some dried fruit for sons later.

    4) Looking forward to a Higgidy Pie for tea.

    5) Have a book to read to sons so thought I might introduce bedtime stories again tonight for a few days.

    6) Small niece slept from 10.30 - 7 at the weekend :-) In other news from the weekend, brother in law texted and he is taking bigger son climbing and camping for 3 days in half term.

(Also hoping consultant doesn't try to get that camera up my nose & down back of my throat again - I have a really bad gag reflex and nearly threw up over him last time :o to the point where he gave up in the end)

    Yesterday:
-a quick swim, but enough to keep me happy.
-invited round to tea at a friend's.Cheese pie - very nice.
-then we had a walk at the lake. The swan couple still have four cygnets.
-watched a hilarious battle of wills with a grebe duck couple building up their nest (full of eggs). One of them had chosen a very long branch to add to the nest, and,as one pushed it along the side of the nest, the other duck pushed it back to other way. This went on for over 10 minutes.
-back home for rhubarb and strawberry crumble.
    -went running again,still doing ok.

Sorry not been posting pleasures but have been silently watching to see Mr Mhags progress and cheer him on! Seems like recovery is going well - and Mhags you are amazing - working/family/hospital/haggis - makes me tired just thinking about it!!!

Out of sorts at the moment - but not sure why! Dissertation on top of usual work/kids/house etc maybe! Need to give myself a shake!!! Work is unusually getting to me at the moment - so much to do! and lots of emotion!

    so pleasures:

    1. Baby bunnies surviving - despite being poked and prodded by DD3!
    2. Clematis and honeysuckle in the garden blooming lovely (shame veggie plot not looking so pretty)
    3. 3 day weekend to look forward to (filled with dissertation though!)
    4. Friend's son who had accident is doing well - up and walking - needs some rehab but much better recovery than first predicted!
    5. New managers settling in - will make life easier soon hopefully!

Been away for a few days

    1. Went to Newcastle to watch rugby and though we lost I enjoyed the day. I travelled to and watched the match by myself and then DH joined me. I felt pleased that I had gone by myself and people were all friendly. Had a good evening in Newcastle eating in a recommended restaurant by a Newcastle supporter.

    2. We then spent a couple of days in Northumbria which was lovely - visited NT places as we are members. Walked along the beach and had a relaxing time. It rained a bit but not really when we were outside so didn't spoil the holiday.

    3. Walked round the garden this morning with a coffee listening to the birds in the sunshine. Great way to start a day. Trying to avoid looking at what needs doing and concentrating on what we have achieved in the past 15 months.

    4. House being clean and tidy when we arrived home - always worth the effort before I go away.

    5. Receiving birthday wishes by next and on Facebook.

Skint - all good luck & if you need to throw up over the consultant, it's Very Good for their humility.
Not at all fun, mind, but worth trying to spot the number of muffled snickers.

Mhagster - you & your family are all in my thoughts.
