Thank goodness its Friday!!! Its been a long and difficult week on many fronts!!
congrats bop , and here's vjsmum winging her lecture :A
have had a ridiculously busy week. monday tea at mum's, tuesday meditation with bach at church, wednesday birthday meal with friend, thursday italian banquet with colleagues, friday ceilidh and tonight fund raising meal at church. most definitely having a quieter week next week!
so for yesterday which had a bad start - xoh telling me about bf and how his friend is coming over from canada in may and has booked a cottage in ireland and they're going to have a week there and well i'm sorry i know it's now over 2 years and i should have got used to the idea but was rather weepy when i got to work. how can 30 years mean so little?! (ok moan over)
1) a colleague, sensing the unit needs cheering up, brought in a tin of quality street, and another brought in birthday cake for 2 others. oh i do hope we can survive the coming storm
2) lunch with gbf. dd1 had made a rainbow fruit salad which made had a very nice pudding
3) very positive meeting with 2 students. They're doing a masters in oral biology and doing 2 of our modules as part of this. this is a pilot for us module-sharing, and i can see lots of potential
4) ceilidh band leader phoned 4:55 to apologise for not telling me where the ceilidh was (shows how on the ball i was that i hadn't realised d'oh). he had a full car so phoned the bass guitarist who could pick me up from my house at 5:45. quick shut down of computer, to walk past colleague also leaving who drives past the end of my road :j. so home in time to walk the dogs before
5) ceilidh fab. haven't seen the others since before xmas due to work (really must sort that out!) was a fund-raiser for the girl guides. lots of energetic dancing, lots of cups of tea, lots of food. fab way to end the week.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Been busy for a couple of days.
1. Am on annual leave for a week. Not planned anything but need to try and sort garden out. could also do with painting the kitchen.
2. Yesterday had to spend money - had to pay for new clutch and also table and chairs ordered about 6 weeks ago which will be delivered next week. The pleasure is that I could afford both just. I may need to be spending very little until payday though. I have also saved money this month in my ISA.
3. Spent time tidying in the garden - I felt as if little was achieved but I did have a fire and a huge pile of wood has gone. The chickens loved being out all afternoon.
4. Scrambled eggs on muffin for breakfast.
5. Gammon for tea with salad and potatoes. I cooked the gammon slowly in the slow cooker and it is the nicest way of cooking it I feel.Making ham and pea soup now.
6. Washing dried on the line and all ironed also bed linen changed.0 -
1. A lovely, lovely day with DD - her first time doing girly shopping, and I was so proud it was with her mummykins
2. I've just had some massive cuddles as she said she 'couldn't express in words how perfect today was, so hoped that cuddles would go some way towards showing her happiness" - bless xxx
3. Can't wait to read the books she bought herself with her Christmas voucher at H2o stones, they look fab!
4. Didn't spend a penny on myself, phew!
Going to save my 5th for another day0 -
Yesterday
1 - Some new practices at work are proving successful. Always makes me happy when you can see positive results from your actions.
2 - Half day. Finished at 1, although it was 1.30 before I stopped blethering and left.
3 - OH actually got a half day too (is meant to on a Friday but doesn't always happen these days) so was back home by 3.30.
4 - Made tasty mozzarela and pesto burgers for dinner.
5 - Quick facetime with my mum and sister! So lovely to see and speak to them both. Can't wait for some family time soon.
Today
1 - Great sleep. It had been a long and busy week up to Friday so I must have needed a catch up. Felt great by the time I got up this morning.
2 - Day out with OH. Despite the cold weather we went down to one of my favourite little seaside towns.
3 - Aimlessly wandering around the town and along the seafront. Some yummy chips had as well.
4 - There is a beautiful wee craft shop in the town. All locally made items and I always like a nosy in there. Resisted most of the temptations but bought a couple of cards for family.
5 - Oh and I watched the sewing bee final. Didn't go how I expected it to at all but I have really enjoyed this series.0 -
it's cold. my toes are slowly defrosting. brrrrr
1) snuck back to bed after dogs' early morning walk
2) the last red lentil stew from the freezer for lunch. then made a green lentil stew. lentils yum
3) took the dogs for a lovely long walk up to the observatory after lunch. i let them off the lead all the way once we got to the park and they were very good at coming back when called
4) dinner defo not mse as was fund-raiser 3 course meal at the cathedral. but, due to lent challenge, took bottle of low calorie ginger ale, much cheaper than wine. was surprisingly good in champagne glass
5) was going to share a taxi home with a couple who live same direction, but they wanted to go somewhere for another drink. i caught the bus instead, and it was only £1.40
now listening to the news quiz. 2 cats, a cuppa and a onesie. night all xMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Judi: Congratulations on no longer being on probation.
1.I did a few more weight sessions.
2.We went to visit the in-laws, always a lovely long journey and good company, got a very respectable bouquet from lidls for very little
3. Very late back so we stopped in at what was DH’s local takeaway and it is truly exceptional, they know us well in there as DH’s ex wife used to work there, but they don’t hold that against use…. they always ply us with extra bits and pieces.
4.Greeted by the animals as if we had been away for weeks, as we got back in the wee hours of the morning, they are let out in the garden to run about , of course we are using match sticks to keep our eyes open until they are ready to sleep.0 -
1. Had a coffee with a friend and a good chat putting the world to rights.
2. Did some mending for DS1 and shortened some work trousers for DH. I also sorted out my sewing basket and realised I do have more needles than I thought. It will save me buying some.
3. Watching the rugby - pleased with the results.
4. Made some pea and ham soup with stock from gammon.
5, DS2 made some guacomole which was good.0 -
Not such a good day health wise yesterday but I'm sure I can find some pleasures
1. sunny windy morning got 2 loads washing out on line
2. egg on toast for breakfast
3. chat to DP's on phone. Another list of questions to research for them re 65+ NSI pensioner bonds they are thinking of buying
4. DS went on night shift patrol observation at 5pm and not due back until small hours so I could curl up on sofa and watch TV in peace
5. caught up on 12 monkeys. Re-watched the film recently (Bruce Willis) and am looking forward to seeing how the series pans out compared to the film which I enjoyed.

Happy Mothering Sunday to everyone whose DM is still with them, and those of us who have to wait to see her again...
This is part of the eulogy I wrote for my Mum. Take care of yours, tell her you love her x
A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam,
And for a brief moment, her glory and beauty belong to our world...
But then she flies again, and though we wish she could have stayed...
I feel so blessed to have known her.0
