Evening
Have abandoned all hope of writing Tuesday's lecture after a busy evening. I am away from tomorrow till Monday night, so i will have to wing it (<<<cough>>> again <<<cough>>>)
McCulloch - hope Dr C continues to improve
Judi - sigh, teenagers. I feel your pain
Firth hope friend's daughter is OK
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Got DS some bits - a t shirt, a book, a DVD, some earphones. Hmm, sure there was something else
2. yellow thing was out for the morning and the washing nearly dried on the line
3. Bacon and egg (Begg) for lunch
4. hair done
5. an afternoon / evening making veg curry, lemon drizzle, mincemeat flapjack, tea loaf
And today
1. drive to work, singing my head off
2. found new and cheaper and easier car park
3. step ball change, shuffle, hop, kick kick - guess what i've taken up :rotfl:
4. garden full of mini daffs (not mine, just one i saw)
5. Stunning picture of DD on FB - she was supposed to look like an 80 year old blind woman. Instead she looked like Audrey HepburnI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Been a crazy week full of lots of work. I've been reading just haven't had the chance to collect my thoughts and post them.
Sending warm thoughts and well wishes to all who need them.
Pleaseres for the past few days:
1 - Got an opportunity to do a new challenge at work. Meant a lot of hard work and long hours but was worth it. I'm pleased with how it turned out but would love to do it again so I can get it even better.
2 - Working with some truly lovely people. Supportive and funny. I value the fact that my job has lead me to meet a great bunch of people.
3 - Lots of delicious treats to keep us going through the last few days. All I've done is eat though. This often happens when I'm tired but I'm hoping I can nip it in the bud.
4 - Nice new outfit purchased. Love getting it at a fraction of the full price cost.
5 - Lots of texts from family. Feels like I don't see them much at the moment. Looking forward to a day with my parents next week though and then seeing my sister the week after.
6 -The sun has been shining here most days. It just makes everything much cheerier.
7 - The thought that tomorrow I have a half day and then I have the weekend off. Whoop whoop!0 -
Hello from a nice and sunny Melbourne , a most pleasant 22o at the moment.
Early start at work this morning, went I a bit earlier as I took the car incase I had to get home for DD2 but I don't like the morning traffic so drove in earlier than needed. Anyway it was another busy day .new boss has offered main colleague and I a commission if we get above a certain amount of cash in a day! Let the sales battle commence!
DD2 saw the sports specialist consultant this morning with OH, she had an ultrasound and then an MRI this afternoon. He reckons her muscle has detached from the bone. Waiting on him getting back to us after he gets MRI results. Her physio called me and reckons she will be in recovery for a couple of months anyway. Poor thing has been poked and prodded all day.
Came home to a parcel of Percy Pigs sent from friend from home, shared amongst children. They don't last long in this house ! But honestly they couldn't have come at a better time. They are DD2's favourite sweets and were sent for her birthday.
Took DD2 up to school for play rehearsals. They are going to decorate her crutches for the show next week! We sat for a while together in the school courtyard. School has a very old building and I just felt I could have been sitting in Italy rather than our wee town! The rose gardens smelled beautiful and the sound of the water in the fountain was very restful. Warm but not too hot and just perfect! It reminds me of Hogwarts.
I'm home and it's just me and my doggy for a while. Everyone else is out and about. Peace and quiet....aaaaah!
Happy Friday0 -
Coming back to SparraShire!
Starting Monday!
Planted Strawbs Plumbing sorted! Chickens, Seal swimming, see above! Non Runners in field. Judi. See previous for ideas! Step Balls Easrly finish on POETS Day! See that Mhags has found the England cricket team in a parcel!
5 Bins in the emporium this day, to get couple of new shirts, Y fronts, socks, trousers, and new Tee Shirt. Also got a leather strap thing, and I know how to use it as well. Belter!
4 BoPsie also came along, and as reported previously, she has responded well this week to finding the frillies. In fact, as iot took BoP lass than eight minutes in emporium to get his gear, he was aided by BoPsie in the frilly department. BoP retired to the caf!, for a cool glass of juice! I will be back later to pick her up!
3 Then we got new cheese dish, as BoP smashed the previous version. Lass in emporium of JL was bit miffed. Darling, in BoP house cheese has the ability top breathe. In the open, not like a mushroom and kept in the fridge. Poor girl, was confused. Dish, for keeping cheese in. Rarely! No dear, cheese is breathe. Not like nitro foamed lager, served ultra chilled, so as not to endanger the buds of taste of the Muppets who drink it! Now, BoPsie, last week grabbed the cost a packet foam drinks, available in some outlets, had a foamed chocolate version the other knight. Raffles, currently spooookled by upside down house and giant teddy, also refused to finish it!
2 Nite BoP has doing chicken tikka, with thundered prawns served with mushroom storma. Chicken, mankilloiding in natural yogut, with garem masala, termites, chives, chilli, cumin, proper seeds, not the chalk bulk available at emporium, lemon and garlic! Then the chicken, red pepper and onion is skewered and torched in the stove of BoP. Mushtroom curry is then maid using proper coconut block. Sits, rubs tum! Oh, and Terrappi prawns, tom puree and chilli jam soaked prawns. Not that cost a packet thing from over salted and over priced emporiums.
Wobbleades have been acquired for the purpose of entertaining BoP!
1 Turn the tap on, what happens?
In Hardh, we got water once a week. Sometimes in summer, it would be a little longer! Anything up to around three weeks! And when it did come on, in rations, you filled the tanks up for four weeks! It was not potable!
That came from the water shop!, not the bottle you see in the emporium!
And that water came a long way across the desert. Most was lost long afore it came into the tanks!
Celebrating 30 years of saving money on Mothering Sunday! And 25 years of ignorance ot the extortion created by the nobreties!0 -

Good evening everyone :hello:
Hurrah for the weekend!
Pleasures for today:
1) Cake sale at school in aid of Comic Relief. We've also been wearing red. My funny face was my normal face... no make up required.:rotfl:
2) @Oval_Station 's "Thought of the day" was from Terry Pratchett. "The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it."
3) Spaghetti bolognese (HM and defrosted from the freezer!) for supper.
4) Read our electricity & gas meters. We've done really well at cutting back our usage and the supplier is not only reducing our monthly direct debit, but also refunding us £300! :j :j
5) Amazon voucher arrived for completing a survey! £5 is all mine!!! I have my eye on the next Alexander McCall Smith book.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
A tidy up and spendy but planned in day:
1. Up early again, noisy Robins around here. I’ll need a job soon, as today I cleared out our food cupboard and organised what’s in there, we had things with use by dates of 3 years ago which I think pushes it somewhat. Cleared out and cleaned the herb rack. Also gathered garden waste we desperately need to do several tip runs as well
2. And then I started clearing out my clothes, I’ve got 2 more runs at this I reckon, but made progress 2 more bin bags for the heart foundation clothes bin.:)
3. I am using one of the MSE offers to make a book for our 10th Anniversary, my project is photo’ing all sorts of bits and uploading them, it’s going to take a while.:j
4. Went across the bridge to home bargains knowing exactly what we have and haven’t got I’m always very impressed by them so much cheaper than supermarkets and even picked up veggies there this time as well, I won’t need to pop to Mr T much at all for the rest of this month. Popped into Costco, as they had DH’s coffee with just under £3 off worth having and mince on offer made 14 portions worked out at £1 per portion, turns out all of my bulk cooking is mince based.:o
5. I dug out exercise weights to try little and often, it’s scary how hard it is and I’m not doing too much hoping it will build up some strength.:o
6. Picked up a cooked pizza from Costco for dinner as a treat, we only managed one slice each, had to freeze the rest.:)0 -
Thank goodness its Friday!!! Its been a long and difficult week on many fronts so my 5 for day are:
1. Its Friday - got lots to do over the next few day (house work, cake making and afternoon tea for the Rev to prepare, plus more reading for dissertation to name a few!) but most are fun!
2. Amazing feedback at 6 month review - I am no longer on probation!
3. Comic relief - reminds me how lucky we are despite all this weeks drama!
4. Made flowers for mothers day cake tonight - they look really good!
5. Wine tonight!!!!0 -
Wow, congratulations are in order BoP  Would suggest we meet for coffee one lunchtime, will check my diary......okay, looks like I'm free on 22nd March 2049, howzat - or are Mondays not good for you?
. Pleased for both you and BoPsie who will enjoy having you out from under her feet once more
1. Went for an early swim to avoid the herd of seals, there were only three swimmers sharing four lanes. Got very brave and did the first 2 lengths in the second lane, well away from the side
2. The primroses in my garden. As a child I lived with my Grandmother on the IoW, her garden was a carpet of primroses in the Spring, her house named after them. Now I plant masses of them wherever I live.
3. Out for lunch, the steak was so tender it melted in the mouth. Not often I have a perfect blue steak, it was yummy
4. A friend came for tea and bought me a beautiful bouquet. She said it was to cheer me up as I don't have a Mum to buy for now. I don't know about cheer me up but smoke got in my eyes and neither of us smoke! It was so kind, what a lovely person she is :A
5. Spent the evening with Classic fm rather than the screaming and hysteria which is the red nose programme. Peaceful.
Sweet dreams0 -
