Well before bed time!
Taking care of mums seeing the flicks, sewing and rugby. Cold? Love the Jam sessions! Girly shopping!
5 Celebrating thirty years without the crush at the emporiums. Witnessed the selfless snatchers last eve, as BoP festered for a wobbleade. Junk. Now Mum BoP would had curled her toes, to her it was Mothering Sunday, those celebrating bringing new life. Now, it has succumb to another charade of extortions. The relentless trend continues through to next event in three shreeks time!
4 Still on House chess, and the bed has been torched, flamed and no more. BoPsie frillies have been washed and ... Comes up for air. Down came the old curtains this morning and out with the old rail, and half the wall. Raffles went out of the window, but was surprised to see how high up he was. Fortunately, he back catted inn!
3 Tea of fresh salmon, with home maid parsley sauciness. Served with emporium Ton Soup, well, sometimes I am allowed non foam foods! With hand torn cruttens! Then some Xmas of Pud, with lumpy freshly maid custard.
2 Morrow BoP is back near SPARRALANDS and withy be having a nbice cup of tea tomorrows eve, at ten minutes to 9 o'clock as suggested!
1 Mums is one, that the pie had been quartered, yet five where at the table.
She, was not caring for the crust!0 -
1. Got entire house cleaned. Managed to mop, hoover, clean kitchen, do two loads, tidy entire house, clean out chickens, bathe DD, water garden (turned out to be unnecessary), shower, blow-dry hair and put on a full face before 9am! Phew! It feels good to be productive
2. DDs lovely mothers day cards (she made three!) and gifts.
3. A day out at Cliveden. We walked around the gardens. DD played at the playground. We had fun running around the maze, and then a lovely lunch in the Orangery with a crisp glass of wine. I had a gorgeous mixed bean one pot which I'd like to recreate at home.
4. Cuddling up with my cats and a lovely hot tea to trawl through gardening blogs
5. DD climbing into bed with me at 6am and cuddling up to me until we got up
A really lovely day and I'm feeling very very lucky for my amazing DD (as I'm sure many of us are for our kids and mums, whether here or not)
Hope everyone had a lovely mothers day.0 -
Few quick pleasures from the last few days:
1) Lovely staff at A and E in local big hospital (smaller son). Still needs an operation, still refusing...
2) Landing and stairs walls and ceilings painted, steps being painted in chalk paint. 2 layers done and they'll need more.
3) Enjoyed Casualty.
4) Found Brum Children's Hospital without difficulty! (Don't like driving in Birmingham). Parked immediately outside. Spent the morning with school friend and her daughter who is now on the mend from bacterial meningitis (6 weeks old).
5) Visited my sister this afternoon. Her daughter (7 weeks) is still feeding very poorly, esp in comparison with the 6 week old that I had fed a few hours before. I've suggested she videos it and shows the GP. There is something not right there. Nice to see them.
6) Stove is going nicely here and sons will be back in 5 minutes.
7) I think I might demand a mother's day showing of Return of the Jedi and that someone makes me a cup of tea!
8) ooo, nearly forgot! Been given a poll clerk job on election day. Money is nice and I find it quite interesting and also to watch the results come in when I get home because "I was there". It'll be the 4th general I have done.0 -
that's lovely sparrer

Sounds like there has been a lot of productive people today. I'm very impressed.
sparrer - lovely words.
1 - Formula 1 is back. Yay.
2 - Managed to get out for a lovely walk around the park before the rain came on. Lucky to have a very nice park across the road from us. Great to get some fresh air and stretch the legs on an otherwise relaxed day.
3 - A whole weekend off with the OH. Hate when he leaves on a Sunday though.
4 - NSD
5 - Discovered some mail left in the upstairs hall. 2 handwritten letters. Such a pleasure to receive and has prompted me to go and write some myself.0 -
What busy days we've all had.
Bit annoyed with a friend. I syphon so much money into various "pots" eg car, holiday, house that what I actually have to spend on fripperies at the end of the month after bills and the pots is very little - but everything is budgeted for. Friend has told me to lighten up and just spend some money on some clothes. Thing is, I do... just not as often as she does. She's buying another car - 2nd in the space of 18 months - but hasn't been on holiday for 3 years as she can't afford it (despite spending money like water!)! *rant over*
sparrer - Lovely words. x
My pleasures:
1) Planning all done. :j
2) Out with the in-laws for brunch. Lovely fry-up!
3) Meal out with friends last night. I had a voucher for a free bottle of prosecco! Duly redeemed with no problem.
4) One word. Poldark.(seem to remember it was a pleasure last week too!)
5) Advising FIL about how to get a good deal on his airport parking! He was amazed I know so much. I didn't tell him that I've learned everything I know from the great man himself. :money::money: of course!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Good evening from dull but dry Melbourne.
Had a good and productive day at work.
Ran ( well walked quickly) for train with about 30 seconds to spare!
Had a chat with sports specialist on phone, we go and see him again on Thursday morning . Crutches meantime!
Picked up DD at school...her bag weighs more than her!
My son emptied the dishwasher ( one of his chores) ....I gave him a kitkat!
I am off work tomorrow ....ah! That does sound good
Having salad and baked potato for tea.0 -
Good day mostly yesterday.
1. Both DS were home initially. Went shopping to buy a shirt for DS2 managed to pay for it with vouchers. Then dropped him off at station.
When he got back to Uni his flat had no power. Not sure whether its back on .
2. Took DS1 to another station - so he could avoid bus replacement services.
3. Went to visit MIL and then took her to Wisley. Had free entry with membership and DH pushed her around in a wheelchair. She wasn't happy but I enjoyed it lots of primroses and daffodils just starting to come out. I ignored her comments when we went to the vegetable part and I said what seeds etc I have planted or intend to plant and most of it according to her was a waste of time and effort. After almost 30 years of knowing her I ignore the snide comments, smile and murmur.
4. Arriving home - watched Death in Paradise which we had recorded.0 -
Sounds like everyone had a full Mothering Sunday
I thought mine would be quiet but as usual, I was wrong
1. DB phoned. We always took DM out for lunch on this day so he called to see I was okay. Why is it that every time he phones me I cry? Then he made me smile by saying he has that effect on a lot of people. He's been to IoW and at last found the graves of our grandma and two aunts, only one of which is in good condition. We're now making plans to restore the other two.
2. Phone call from DS who was working and apologised for not sending my card until today. He sends it on the Monday every year regardless of his OH reminding him. His excuse is it makes Mothering Sunday last longer. Hmmm
3. Phone call from DD, had planned to go out to lunch but they all have the post-NEC sore throat and cough (blame the awful air con) so we're going out on Tuesday
4. Met with friend for lunch then home to watch b-rate mother's day movies for the afternoon.
5 At 7pm a friend phoned to ask if I have a drill bit the size of a darning needle. Of course I have! Took it along to the next but one village to her and spent a lovely evening discussing her new business and the changes she's making to her house. She done marvellously, she my height but that doesn't stop her doing most things to make her house and garden look amazing
6. Rest day until this evening when I'm meeting a friend to go and see the Second Best Exotic marigold Hotel.
Have a sunny day0 -
Good evening everyone :hello:
Well, that's Monday out of the way! I had an observation this morning which I survived, thank goodness (albeit just!).
Pleasures:
1) Used a voucher in Mr T's, shaving a few pounds from the total cost of the shop! :j
2) Contact with my cousin in Canada on her birthday. Hopefully we'll be having a Skype session on Friday for a *proper* catch up!
3) Not OS, but my mum has Wimbledon tickets in the ballot on Court Number 1 on Men's Final Day, but we should see juniors and "invitation" (ie veterans!!). A fraction of the cost of men's final tickets.
4) Have found a lovely sounding recipe for carrot muffins, which I can bake with my little group of cherubs later this week. Here, if you're interested!
5) Wasting time on Pinterest. This *is* a pleasure.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0
