pirate Pete I'm sure that wife of yours deserve some kind of long service medal! Congratulations
So, it Saturday evening, it's very warm but not as hot as expected so that's a bonus!
I was full of the joys this morning, at work ( second last day under this particular regime! ) , thinking very positive thoughts about the changes coming....when current boss managed to burst my very happy bubble. ....and breath, Mhags, breath....one more shift to go.
One of my very kind customers gave me her old iPhone, mine is knacked! I dropped it in a tub of melted butter a few months ago and it's went downhill since then. It now won't make a ringing noise when I get a call and is generally crappy! She didn't want anything for it but I gave her some flowers to say thank you.
OH and my handsome dog came to visit me at work.
Went for late lunch / early dinner with OH and DD2. I had chicken involtini and some of the most delicious vegetables. Very yummy.
Used my $15 voucher at supermarket, it helped a little I suppose but not a cheap shop as we hadn't really done one last week. Most things bought on special offer/ rtc.
Nothing much planned for this evening ....perhaps a sofa snoozette!
Have a good weekend0 -
Greywitch - I'm considering buying a dehydrator please let me know how you find yours.
1. Lovely day and had lunch in the garden in the sun.
2. Managed to get lots of work done in the garden - dug vegetable beds, planted seeds, staked trees and built a small amount of my dry stone wall.
3. DS2 phoned for a chat. He was fed up with walking backwards and forwards to the post office as he had forgotten something.
4. Watching a flock of birds flying over.
5. Washing - two loads- dried on the line.0 -
Strange Bedfellows!
Ouch. Yellow thing, bright, danced away the night, and it is gone!
5 There is an abundance of things chocolate in House of BoP and BoPsie this day. Note to readers, you cannot eat Roses!
4 Offs outs for a bacon and egg banjo, for breakfast, as day of BoP and BoPsie, 28 wed and 19 together gathers pace! Sits, rubs tum.
3 Then back at 3 to listen to the football, PM2DDUTM and other!
2 We shall be staying in and this time, BoPsie has got her BoP a Norma Jean film. Rubs forehead, excited.
1 I was shown a pass once, in Al Kharj, and the person holding it had no nation. it said STATELESS. Hated, was he by his own, yet he did not grieve! Taught me a lot, of why people hated him, not me! No I did not hate him. He mentioned that the gilded suq would relive the suffering, but those that hated him would line the pockets themselves.
Now what was that in 1980, a bomb in a block, behind Uxbrdige?
Careful you listen to the apologists. Apologists for keeping people poor?
Now today, I read of strange bedfellow! I fear the Rowntree Foundation has been funding those apologising for keeping people poor, Cage!
Oh, and check where Al Kharj is?
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Al-Kharj&redirect=no
Oh, and when the King they did not like visited, they removed his head!
Keep going along the old silk road there!
And what of this Palestinian, what was it he told me. His people will remain poor, as long as gilded suqs of Arabia remained awash with gold for their dirty hands!
So be careful, next you see the grieving apologist, one I hear of which is suing those, for his own pocket, them who challenge.
Sorry, had to rant this day!0 -
Well done, Mr and MrsBop!
Pleasures for yesterday and some random ones I think I missed from before then.
1) Cold nearly gone - hoorah!
2) Now have a wheelbarrow and a drill. Brother helps with house clearances from time to time and looks out for useful stuff for us. This is an example of life in a little village - on Thursday he did a house clearance. He knows the house clearance man locally and I realised his wife was the lady who delivered smaller son!! At Thursday's house, the old lady has gone into a home. Her daughter was organising the clearance and turns out it was the new girlfriend of MrN. :-/
3) Cleared out under the stairs yesterday. Bits for the bonfire at brother's, plenty taken to charity shop.
4) Shopping from Sainsburys.
5) Saw Theory of Everything on Thursday at local cinema.
6) Brother in law phoned yesterday and has invited us to his Easter break at Lake Bala! He wants smaller son to canoe with him for a cross lake race (?) and to do some climbing with bigger son. :-)
7) Hair cut last night for sons. Bigger son has had long hair since 2007 though it has only been long bob length since starting high school. Now he has a short back and sides !
8) Enjoyed Gogglebox and the Last Leg last night.0 -
Good evening!
Frith - well done for having a clear out. I keep meaning to have a *proper* declutter!
My pleasures for today:
1) Some ironing done!
2) My guest post on an afternoon tea website has been published! See here: http://teawithmeandfriends.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/time-for-teaburj-al-arab-dubai.html
3) Soup for lunch. Delicious.
4) Realised that our freezer is pretty well stocked, so my meal plan and weekly shopping will rely on this. So, we'll spend less! :j
5) Stayed after the match this afternoon, meeting up with a few people and listening to the band in the bar. Great evening!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
1. I've really enjoyed getting up in daylight
2. DD has thoroughly enjoyed her first week at the new school.
3. Went over to my poorly chum's house last night where we sprawled on her bed and chattered through a couple of films, ate our body weight in takeaway Chinese and drank orange and mango juice. Oh and, naturally, we put the world to rights! Such a late night and lots of laughterMust do it again soon!
4. I've still not seen the photos of DD in her new school uniform, but have seen her new-to-her blazer hanging up after being dry cleaned, and wow, it looks gorgeous!
5. Took DD over to see her best chum from the her former school, and they spent a lovely long afternoon playing and creating mayhem!0 -
Congratulations on your anniversary the BoPs
Vicky ny niece stays at Burj al Arab when she goes to Dubai on business, her husband's company was involved in the construction and he still has contracts in that area. Lucky you, the tea sounds out of this world!
1. Yesterday was busy with swimming, coffee morning, lunch with friends then home for a quick nap
2. Not a pleasure but a necessity, a very nice family came to see Frankie, they fell in love with him and took them to live with them. Both cats have to go, sadly, as they're exacerbating my breathing so was pleased to meet the family and discover they live a few doors away from a friend in the next village.
3. This morning I had several enquiries for Finn. A couple came and wanted to take him but I made my excuses as I'm not sure, there was just something... However I'm very fortunate to have a choice of new homes for him so will wait and see.
4. The black squirrel was climbing the branches of the orchard this afternoon, it's always alone so think it might have strayed from the common some miles away where there are several of them. It's so sweet to watch it scurrying, stopping, twitching its nose, then looking in all directions to see which one to take next. A good way to waste a few minutes before it disappeared again.
5. Gogglebox last night, Casualty tonight.
Sweet dreams0 -
1. went to work but double time and found a solution to a mistake I had made with help from a collegue.
2. Enjoyed watching the rugby.
3. Had a meal out with friends which was very enjoyable and not too expensive. She had recently been to New York so we heard all about her trip.0 -
congrats bop and bopette hope you are now saving up bop for a string of pearls. you have 2 years;-)
i feel challenged dfv and although lewis proved very hard to rhyme here goes
There once was a chessman from Lewis
Who thought 'how bluish my hue is
How I yearn for some sun
Cold and damp is no fun
I'll move and be Chessman from Tunis!
(blame Rhymezone for giving me Tunis as a near rhyme ;-))
Funny day Friday. Very good friend and stalwart of the uni's last day. She moves to St Andrews well done her. 5 for yesterday:
1) Spent much of time tidying house for arrival Monday of 2 new day beds, one for DD1 one for DS. DD1 didn't get a PhD place in Heidelberg :-( She got home very tired and a bit tearful last night, cheered by a tidy room and dominoes.
2) Cos she doesn't like tomato she has BBQ sauce as base instead. I have to say it's very yummy :P
3) Lunch time took dogs up to observatory with xoh and we let them off the lead. It's the first time we've done it off lead and they were very good.
4) Scotland game had sad end :-( but Luton won and the three teams above didn't
5) Supper was using up past their best veg. Lish, and something very satisfying about using limp lettuce in fake chop suey rather than chucking it.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
