Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Just popping in before an early night.
    1. Yesterday was another day of celebrations, two friends had birthdays so 8 of us were out to lunch then dinner later
2 All back here for coffee and birthday cakes. Got to bed after midnight, had to get up at 7am for early morning swim. Sleep swimming?
    3. A very dear friend here for coffee which turned into lunch
    4. Said friend bought me a huge bouquet of flowers, my home looks like a florists with the ones I've already been given and the vases I've filled today. Lots of very special gifts as well, have been very spoiled
    5. Counting my blessings, so much to be thankful for

    Sweet dreams :)

    1) gbf gave me lift to work so he could park in my carpark and we could go straight to dinner then flying dutchman. he was 30 mins late (well poor lamb is just back from New York) so spent happy 30 mins tidying kitchen including sorting out hot spot
    2) gbf bought me pressie - heart-shaped container full with m&ms, from world of m&ms on time square. sweet
    3) cinema had advertised wrong night for flying dutchman. fortunately gbf had checked on website before we set off. i think we were both secretly relieved cos we're both knackered
    4) he gave me a lift home but i know it was just so he could see the boys! we took them for a walk in the park - hooray the nights are getting shorter
    5) after supper xoh dyed my hair and we watched death in paradise while it took.
oh and dd2 has a job :j she starts saturday in st andrews h&m and they've said she can transfer to dundee when they have a vacancy. ds thrilled at prospect of 25% discount for his spring wardrobe :D

Yes DfV the view from the top of the M62 is quite amazing - coming home I could see over Manchester and beyond to the Cheshire plain. As a child I travelled from Hull to Scotland so many times that that road is stamped in my memory - it funny how a view makes you reflect back on the past isn't it?

And been thinking a lot about our not so good food chain and what goes into our food these days! it certainly is food for thought!!!

    5 for today

    1. better sleep
    2. 2 managers appointed (even though whole day of interviewing was torture!) who will be amazing - PA and 2 managers in 2 days! team complete and things looking bright!
    3. Day started dull and wet but afternoon was bright with lots of Yellow thing around - makes me feel so much better
    4. Thrown together omelette for dinner - simple and pleasurable real food!!
    5. Off tomorrow (well today now!) so technically Thursday was Friday!!!

    1. Walking to the bus I stopped to let a 11 /12 year old boy walk past as he was busy putting on his coat, trying to not drop his school bags etc as well as rushing for his lift but he looked at me smiled and said thank you.

    2. Friendly bus drivers in both directions today who talk to you.

    3. Relaxed at work as boss not there. It makes such a huge difference to everybodys mood.

    4. Pork stew for tea which was tasty.

    5. Seing pheasants in the field opposite.

village life I hear ya with your number 3!

Well day off is almost over and it's bedtime again but I've had such a pleasant day off....have done none of the housework that I'd intended to do but I'm sure it will still be there tomorrow!

Good, long chat to friend back home.

Hung out 3 loads of washing.

Walked over to our shops feeling very happy that everyone was friendly and helpful and we really do have all our basic needs met with our row of shops. Bought a broom. Went to bakers for bread and green grocers for tomatoes....came home, watched Eastenders and ate some toast....then I went to sweep back porch....hmmmm ..no sign of broom, then I realised I didn't come home with it, so nipped back out to retrace my shopping steps and it was in the bakers!

On the way back found DD1 at the bus stop, so said I would take her to uni. She texted my friend that works there and we met up for coffee at cafe I used to work at and had a good blether. Saw lots of old customers who stopped and said hello which was nice and only 1 member of old staff.

Walked back to car and said hello to the ducks and saw lots of cockatoos.

Home and I may have had a snoozette. I may have snoozetted on my hand and woke up with dreadful pins and needles!

Then got my new to me dress on and off I went a gallivanting with the girls from work. We went to a tapas bar and it was pleasant enough. We had a good laugh which was nice. I drove, I ended up paying over the odds for my 2 diet cokes as they all had their cocktails but I incorporated DD2's in mine too. I hate subsidising other peoples expensive drinks! Boss wasn't there but bumphergums was ( remember her?) and was bumping those gums again! Anyway, it was nice to see everyone out of workplace. Not everyone's job has been saved.

So a most pleasant day , a warm but not too hot one ( that's for tomorrow)

Do have a fabby Friday , only 2 days to work then we close on Sunday , new owner takes over on Monday....no idea what's happening after that!
  • Corks!!!

You know, I mention carp food and suddenly others have seen the light of decent wholesome foods. Three wash loads out, hot chocolate, what what what. Beans, non broad but proper COCOA how many more times! Just because yous no been around Tractor, does not absolve you of foamed drink alerts. Decent pheasant pluckers! Well done Judi, proper foods! Easy on the celebrations Spara, yous will use this years worth up afore the month of Sundaes is out! Bills, only plaice to deal with them is give the lot to Bernadette. She deals with ours!

    Popped

5 BoPsie, has survived 28 years of wedded bliss to her BoP this weekend, and yes, we had hecklers at the reg office! Still see the nine o'clock appointment lass stood there as we went in at eleven. Never mind. And those cheap chocolates from the punter emporium rush event just a few days ago, have been acquired. Card gathered. Chocolates garnered.

4 Booked trough for this evening, best bib and Thai. Sit down jobby. BoPsie is coming along as well. And they has a decent wobbleade on as well.

    Shower

3 Dom occurred after a swift visit through sparralands. Job done, uncross fingers, more money. Tuff on previous!

    And relax!

2 Daymorning broke with a decent offering of dippy eggs, with special cut marmite soldiers. Proper food not that jerk stuff on offer elsewhere abouts.

1 We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
  • Hi all, sorry I've been AWOL. Work and such have driven me a little crazy!

A mishmash of pleasures for recent times:
    1. Coached the school's public speaking team for Rotary competition, and they advanced to the next round! Very excited and so proud of them.
    2. Had a brilliant half term last week with OH off as well. Road trip to Harry Potter studios, went to Disraeli's home at Hughenden and had an evening at Ross Noble.
    3. Year 9 class taking on university standard work and absolutely crushing it.
    4. Year 11s who have been moved out of my class keep wanting to come back. Bless their socks, I have to force them to leave.
    5. Starting to think about ways to branch out and make actual friends away from work and OH. Baby steps methinks.

    Evening all! :hello:

Last night was spent putting the world to rights with a former colleague. Most education issues were sorted out by us over a glass of wine and a pizza (deal in the pub!).

DundeeDoll - congratulations to your DD! :j

    My pleasures for today:

    1) Stir fry for one tonight. It was delicious, even if I do say so myself! :D

    2) Flowers DH bought me last week are still looking and smelling divine!

    3) Paid in my expenses cheque! :j

    4) Not necessarily pleasures, but have donated online to two charities, supporting friends whose loved ones have recently passed on.

    5) Gogglebox. Ah, how I love watching people watching tv! :D Ingenious!

Have a good night everyone
