    Good luck BoP

So our last working day in HK - it went very well

Much more business like than our Singaporean friends

Packing for home - we fly tomorrow night

Pleasures for today and last night

1 went to an Indian restaurant. Looked like circa 1990 Birmingham, called Gaylord, which had me :rotfl: lamb saag- lovely
2 not OS, but Skype has been amazing. So nice to be able to see OH, though the other day he was at home which was great, but yesterday he was at MiL. I saw snow :D

3 lovely walk along the prom, walking backwards seems to be a "thing" here, but I didn't do that
4 lovely hotel brekkie with perfectly boiled eggs
5 sat with a glass of champers overlooking Victoria harbour.

    Have a great day
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Look, I got note better to do!

Singapore Mam is coming home! Looks like a bean feast round here! Jelly Babes! That's it Judi, yous got this thing nows!

5 Not many pleasures, possibly. May have another tact later, but close I think. Depends if they dare. I dare!

4 Forking laptop has erged. Not died, but loopy! I mean real loopy. Your PC has a problem and flock me it cannot fixit! Boot, restart, boot, restart, boot, boot, windows, no boot. Open window and kick rrrrrrr!

    3 Laptop currently bin reinstated!

2 Days I has been doing some new type of print. Someone from Manchester type. Need to sort I thinks.

1 I may taste the wobbleades, gals, but in the morning I will be sober, and you not will still be wanting for more!
  • Hi everyone. VickyA well done .... outstanding ! :T

    4. saw a bright yellow bird outside our work window - not sure what it was looked like a woodpecker when it landed on nearby tree trunk - any ideas CCP ?

    5. spent this afternoon in bed ! Sore neck and head so didn't sleep well last night awake at 4.30. Went to work at 7 and left at 1pm. Thank goodness for flexi time

Not sure what I have 'got' BoP but hey ho I hope its not catching!!!

so today has been a strange one!!!

    1. Free lunch in work - unexpected (which is always good!) at a meeting - lovely sandwiches and a very naught but very nice cupcake - much nicer than the sardines on toast I had planned (saved for tomorrow now!):p
    2. Early dart from work to pick up DS from detention! Detention not good - but early dart appreciated (not suggesting he gets lots of detentions so I can get out of work early though!!!)
    3. Yellow thing still out when coming out of work - cold and crisp but blue skies and lots of birds singing (could have been fighting or partying as they were very noisy!!!) made me think that spring is on its way!!!:j
    4. No internet access when I got home (you would think the world was about to come to an end in my house!) so phoned V media who did lots of techy stuff made me reset modem and got us working again - then said there was a local connection problem and would refund my bill this month!!!! :D
    5. YS curry for tea was lovely!!!

It's 6am in the land of still dark but with a huge yellow moon in the sky. It was beautiful last night as it climbed the sky.

About to head to work , day number 76540 or so it seems.

I went to PTA at new school last night...aaahhhh! Exactly my kind of thing! ( but then I see PTA personality traits in others that I probably have myself that aren't the nicest......no offence to anyone on a PTA but you may know what I mean! ) it will be good to be involved. ( as part of DD being accepted at school , we have to offer at least 3 sessions of parental involvement each year)

Had a lovely lunch with DD1 and her friend at a scone cafe. I went before a couple of years ago but they've extended into the premises next door.
It's all very vintagey and retro in its styling, I had a Gilbert scone, which was a cheese and chutney scone and very delicious they were too. They make the scones to order , so you have to wait whilst they bake. DD had a Peggy ( Apple) and friend had a Jane ( plain)

Birds. Saw 3 huge ibis on a cricket oval . Being so close to Galahs as they flew up onto the tree above me. The prettiest lorikeets , cockatoos and Mr Blackbird having a bath in the dogs paddling pool. And not forgetting my baby frogmouths in the garden tree....sitting so still but giving the dog a hearty Paddington stare.

Made a chicken curry last night with rtc chicken, tin of mixed beans, veg from fridge, tin of coconut milk and some spices. Cheap and cheerful.

Finishing work at midday. :):):) it's been lovely saying see you tomorrow and heading for a train that's almost empty at that's time of day and still having a whole afternoon and evening ahead of me.

    Have a good one :)

  • Days fly by before you know it! Some pleasures for today;

    1. Squirrels and pheasants on today's walk.

    2. Delicious roasted acorn squash stuffed with spicy rice for tea, a made up, throw what's left together meal that was really tasty.

    3. Noticed the free ideal home tickets and planning on surprising mum to an OS trip to London :money:

    4. Ian the dog bringing a ginormous stick home from his walk. He loves to carry sticks (and the odd actual branch) and he leaves them by the gate. They then get chopped up for fire wood- even the dog is on the OS bandwagon :rotfl:

    5. The sound of OH's car just pulling up into the drive. He should finish at 5 so it's been a long day. I'm very glad he is home.

BoP - fingers crossed for good feedback on the shiny shoes.

    VJsmum - safe journey home.

Busy day today! I read with one child in my class this morning who hasn't read at home for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages. So much so that I'm concerned that he's going backwards. On the spur of the moment I set up a reading challenge - every child and adult who reads at home has to have their reading record signed and after they've done this a certain number of times, they're presented with a book. One from a collection that the Book People have available. I need to ensure that I read too, especially as I've instigated it. By lunchtime I'd got laminated star sheets set up for each child and adult AND found the right sort of books for prizes. Hopefully the children have gone home buzzing. Oh, and the other class have joined on board too.

    So, my pleasures:

    1) Reading Challenge! It'll be good to HAVE to read my book instead of wanting to read it. Need to be setting a good example. :)

    2) HM Chilli con carne from the freezer. It was delicious!

    3) Niece's 8th birthday today. We were sent a slice of cake each. It was delicious!

    4) I had a question answered on Twitter by a very kind headteacher. That's why I LOVE social media.

    5) Got rid of loads of pens from a drawer. You know, the ones which come free from a charity in the hope that you'll donate money. I keep them because I hate throwing things away. I've just thrown 5 of them out... *sigh*

Not long in, after long day out and briefly in, to be out again for

    1. Compline. I deeply value this - once a month, quiet, contemplative, taiz! music.

    2. As we speak, wearing new2&, longline Woolovers purple cardie - cs - cashmere/merino, with pockets and shell buttons already there, which saves my usual replacing job. & has snobbish buttons tendency:p:o

    3. Withdrew revolving door N&P money and trotted it back to other Bank, where 1p reverbe sat by &'s left foot....briefly.

    4. Another member of the lush 'chicken+all chuck-ins' slow cooker Club here tonight. How glad was I when I dashed in - smells heavenly to savour after patchy gritty snow day. Yum yum yum., while kettle boiled for hwb.

5....which has been doing its work since 1930h and & is about to join it.
Still reading James Runcie - and a deep enjoyment just becomes more so - encourages lots of stops and reflection, apart from the various dead bodies of course. Today, small read during half-hour in the Abbey Gardens of BStE[posts passim]felt particularly meet and right. Apologised to squirrels galore as they surrounded anyone who paused on this true winter's day, snow lying on flower beds. Must take monkey nuts next time.

vicky - I, too, have those pens and those feelings about them:-)
mhags - at last! and yes, I know that PTA/Governor thing dichotomy only too well.
mms - good to read about Ian the dog again:-)
bop - glad you adopted the oval ball code for your putah. Restart when bopsie blows the whistle. When will you hear how i/v went?
skint - oriole? Lucky lucky you, if so. Entirely possible.

    1. shopping day with DD, always a great pleasure
    2. Going green, literally, I bought a lovely green cotton sweater with zip trim in a cs for £2.50p. Found darker green trousers in another one for £1.99, they'll make a nice outfit when I've cut off about 4" of the trousers hems and made them into turn-ups. Being short has some very novel advantages at times :)
    3. Recycled bottles and jars at the bottle bank, took an old fan to the tip, and put some dog and cat food, porridge, rice and ladies toiletries in the collection basket in the sm.
    4. Unfortunately DB has a chest infection so our day together tomorrow has to be cancelled but I can go swimming instead. I'm getting hooked :)
    5. Saving the best til last...It's happened at last! I was beginning to think my luck would never change, just about everyone I know has received the answer to their problems, but not me. Now I've received the solution twice in one day, I'm soooo excited not to be left out! The first, from Malaysia, has promised me USD80m, the second, from Nigeria - how generous the Nigerians are - will send me details of how to claim further millions for the meagre sum of USD40. Twice in one day, isn't that unbelievable?!
    Literally :p

    Sweet dreams :)
