Wow DigforVictory - what a great summary of everyone's activity! Yes Monday running around is crazy and sometimes I do share lift but it seems to have been all me for one reason and another! I used to help at Brownies when DD1 and 2 were young (Barn Owl was my name!) and also helped at cubs when my DS had his major challenges - but at the moment I need to focus on getting through this course and DD3 has told me it is 'sooooo not cool!' to have mum helping out!!! (but I will help at camp and trips just to annoy her!!!)

Loving the Dilbert days! good luck with interview BoP- and hoping CCp has had a better Tuesday.

VJsmum your travels sound lovely and hoping DS is all better and bathroom complete (and tidy) for when you come home!

    5 for me today:

    1. Assignments done and dusted for now - not sure how this is an OS pleasure - but it feels darn good!!!! (another one bites the dust - just one more to go plus the dissertation!)
    2. NSD - not left the house or even got dressed!!!! (except for the onsie over the PJ's!!!)
    3. Sipping camomile and apple tea - I really want a glass of wine but as I haven't got dressed I am not planning to now am not going to shop!!!
    4. Can relax tonight with my book (Reading Wild by Cheryl Strayed and its great!) sound in the knowledge that it is not competing with leadership theory in my head!!!
    5. DD3 vacuumed and DD2 cooked tea (well sort of after an argument!!!)

Ah, bless you all. I don't deserve such lovely people on this thread. :o My dad phoned me this morning - full of man flu - and said "I hear I have an outstanding daughter!" ;)

BoP - love Dilbert! I hope the interview went well. Fingers crossed.

judi - onesie over clothes is something I'd love to do at school. Instead, at home I'm wearing fluffy socks with my Hello Kitty slippers. Apparently it's not a good look, according to DH. Yeah, yeah. ;)

sparrer - thanks for the point in the direction of the clutter free thread! I hadn't seen it before. Definitely what I need!

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Paid in two expenses cheques into the bank. Much needed!

    2) Found 3 (???) tins of kidney beans in the cupboard. Other than chilli con carne, I'm wondering what to make with them! Any ideas?

    3) Friend in Dubai has requested I take her Jelly Babies. Think I can manage that! :D

    4) Following my trip to the bank, I popped into Cafe Nero for my free drink. :j :j Good to be out of work so early, so I needed to celebrate didn't I?! :D

    5) Made a massive batch of bolognese sauce tonight. Put some wine in the batch and there was a little left over for a glass of wine for me too.

Vicky I can assure the onsie/slipper combination is not a good look at all!! (but it did keep me toasty warm!) I even avoided the school run just so I didn't need to get dressed!

    Well done the outstanding observation!!!:T

Bean and sausage casserole in a slow cooker is good - just cuck in sausages(meat or veggie), kidney beans, baked beans (any beans really) tinned toms or pasata and any other veg you need to use up, some mixed herbs a stock cube and bobs your uncle!!! Not very glamorous but feeds the 5000 for about a week! (I'm sure others will come up with something much more fancy but my kids love sausage and bean casserole!)

Vicky 3 bean salad is a favourite here, maybe not the right time of year but as they're tinned they'll keep until it's warmer. Or you have it warm with strips of fried chicken.
Another Dilbert fan here. Good luck tomorrow BoP
Judi not getting dressed all day? Good for you, it feels lovely and lazy and warm doesn't it? As a teenager my aunt would stay in her dressing gown all day. When my Grandmother asked her if she was going to get dressed she would reply 'Why, who's coming?' Good point :)

    1. Sorting out an underbed drawer I came across then 8y/o DD1's school books - she's now 46. One entry read 'boys don't play with dolls'. I had to laugh but it made me think how far we've come in a few short years
    2. In the same drawer, an envelope with old debit and credit cards. Phoned the banks to cancel the accounts which had nothing in them, or so I thought, and was very pleased to learn that one had £36.
    3. The original purpose of opening the drawer was to get DD2's wedding dress out, as DGD3 had asked if she could have it for an art project. It's going to be photographed in stages of being torn, slashed, painted red etc., all very dramatic. We only got to paint on paper! But it gives me an empty drawer after some 25 years.
    4. Took cuttings from my money plant to take to DSis-i-L on Thursday. Have also taken some for DD2, who can make a plant wither at a glance, but this only needs watering once a month so hoping it will last longer than her average 3 months
    5. DNeighnour, her DD and I went swimming this evening, did 3/4 of a length. Three weeks ago I could only do 5 strokes so am very pleased with my progress so far :)

    Sweet dreams :)

Hope all in the east keep safe and toasty warm - weather your way looks 'interesting!' - cold here but no snow! (much to DD3 disgust!)
    Good luck BoP

Yes sparrer not getting dressed is not something I do often and unfortunately it wasn't to relax - I just decided not to get dressed cos it was so cold and I didn't want to put my heating on so threw the onsie on over my pj's with the plan of getting a shower when I finished my assignments - which didn't happen til 6! so just showered and put new pjs on then!!! But you will be pleased to know I'm up dressed and ready for work as normal today!!!
