Still assignmenting!!! Its hard to get what I want to say into the word count!!!! I obviously talk too much!!!

Did have last night off though! and used the time well visiting a friend. We went for 2 drinks (1 bought by him and 1 by me!) then back to cook dinner - he provided ingredients I provided the expertise! - win win!

    5 for the weekend:

    1. Free meal last night - was very lovely (lamb stir fry with noodles)
    2. Good company at a reduced price of £7 for 2 drinks
    3. Lots of YS items in weekly shop - was definitely worth a trip to the big green shop
    4. was thinking about & and her emporium antics while in the big green shop - was given the life story of the cashier telling me about her ex OH and his sudden liking of flying with his 3rd wife when he wouldn't set foot on foreign lands with the cashier!!! we held up the queue much to other shoppers disgust and had a good old chinwag!!!
    5. Had a revelation about how lucky I am re: 4 as cashier was a lady of a certain age and I am lucky that I am in a position to retire at a reasonable age with a good pension and not have to work in the big green shop or anywhere else until a certain age!

    I. We had the beautiful sunrise here too DD, opened the curtains, stood, watched. Peaceful.
    2. Phone call from DB inviting me for the day on Thuesday
    3. Phone call from DGD1 inviting me for the day next weekend
    4. Phone call from DS inviting me to remember it's his birthday on Sunday. Cheeky so-and-so :p
    5. After my shower (always have one on the 1st of the month whether I need it or not) I opened a tub of body butter I'd been given, sniffed - phew! It smells just like strawberry yogurt and those who know me know I don't like strawberries. Yuk! Donated to cs and opened the new J'sons baby lotion, much nicer and we both gain.
    6. Had lunch in Mr S with friends, tried their f'n'c. It was one of the nicest I've had in a cafe and only £4.50p.

    Sweet dreams :)

    Evening all :)

Frith, your post no 6 made me giggle :D

    Five pleasures for Sunday:

    1. Gave myself a haircut this morning and I even managed to sort the back evenly so DS2 who checked it afterwards didn't have to correct any mistakes.:)

    2. Got the week's food shop done this afternoon.

    3. Snowed heavy, floaty, fat snowflakes while I was driving home from the shops.

    4. DS1 back safe and sound from his weekend away.

    5. Last Tango in Halifax. Are they planning another series I wonder?

    Sweet dreams

  • 5 O/S Pleasures :

    1) Leftover Peach & Chickpea curry for lunch, tasted even better than it did yesterday!

    2) Finally finished reading Gone Girl - one of the books I got for Christmas

    3) Am planning to have a whole week of no shopping, we're off on holiday on Sunday so I'd like to use up what's left in the house. I was feeling a bit ominous about this until I did a meal plan & think we can just about do it!

    4) Off to the park for a run with friends - free exercise!

    5) Washing my hair with a hotel shampoo freebie - smells gorgeous!

Hope you all have a great OS week! :)

    That'll be bedtime again then!

So for today which was not a day off but a day at work as colleague has cracked a rib and sprained a wrist and will not be at work this week and I doubt next week.....I shall think of the pleasures....hmmmm...managed to get all shifts covered, shall be home early afternoon, shall not have to pay a train fare in the morning as will be on and off before 7am and therefore free. I get to bake everyday at work :)

DD2 started her new school this morning. She humoured me by getting dressed early enough for me to take some photos before I went to work.
Seems to have had a good day.

Didn't have too long to wait for a train on way home. Nice walk home from station. Ironed and watched UK telly.

Popped over to salvos. Bought a gorgeous green cardigan, a skirt and a lovely white top.

DD2 had a GP appointment, with one of the nicest GPs I've ever met.

    Made macaroni for tea.

Very excited at tiny little pumpkins growing in veg patch. Zillions of them!

Have a good day...night night from me :)

MHags - glad daughter had a good GP appointment (or a good GP!) and that school went OK.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Bigger son off to school happily and quite well organised this morning.

    3) Smaller son seemed to be brewing an infection last night (his usual one) so I phoned the dr this morning and let smaller son lie in. He woke up and was almost better!

    4) Survived the doctors. The one we like best wasn't available today. We got the one who (last time) stressed smaller son out so much he turned the light switches on and off so many times they stuck permanently on.... Today the same Dr insisted on firing questions at smaller son (which he won't answer - the reason why not I have been told is very obvious to any doctor as it flashes up on their screen!) Still, smaller son did not walk out and his sample has been sent away.

    5) While the going was good, took smaller son for new school shoes!

    6) Just made Jack Monroe's 9p burgers for tea.

    7) Looking forward to the Unbelievable Truth later.

    1. Saw MIL yesterday and she took us out for a meal so saved me cooking and was free.
She wasn't particulary happy and did moan that we hadn't seen her last week. She knew we were away but she dislikes it when we go away as she has chosen not to.

    2. Frosty this morning which made walking my dog easier.

    3. Had talk with someone at work about chairs as the new ones are bad for my back and she was understanding and figuered out why there is a problem.

    4. Toad in the hole for tea with eggs from my chickens,.

    5. NSD as took lunch into work.

I have had one of those s0dding days today: the new office kettle was faulty and scalded my hand, a key work database broke while I was using it and, while trying to fix it at a colleague's desk, I caught myself on her under-desk cabinet and took a chunk out of my knee, then came home to a grocery delivery and promptly dropped the tomato soup pot, which broke and went all over the carpet.:mad::mad:

    photo-2.gif?w=1200&h=&crop=1

    All that aside:

    1) Isis cuddles before work this morning.

    2) Emailed the company who supplied the wine bottle which broke over the weekend, just for their information in case it was a faulty batch, and they gave me a free replacement and £20 credit on my account. :T

    3) Received confirmation that a small competition win I've been chasing for about three months will be delivered soon.

    4) Got all five of my five a day at lunchtime, thanks to some LO HM veg soup, so don't feel at all guilty about having a beefburger inna bun for dinner. :D

    5) Sipping a glass of cider, nicely chilled from having been freshly delivered in my grocery order, and being very glad that Monday's nearly over!
Back after a very long break!
