No snow here today all gone but there is a pretty brisk and cutting wind - what my late mum would call a 'lazy wind' it doesn't go round you, it goes through you :D

    Anyway five for today are:-

    1. Made a decision last night to get the car cleaned today, it had quite a bit of salt (from the roads) up the back bumper and also the car had not been cleaned since the week before Christmas. So, 10.30am out I went with the pressure washer and got it done. Did a quick vac on the inside but it was starting to rain a bit now and I just finished off that then went in.

    2. Spent a couple of minutes looking from upstairs window of my handy work on the car - okay it was not a full on wax it job, but the car is clean and thats the main thing.

    3. Cappuccino and then a nice hot shower.

    4. Had a pamper Rainy-Days half hour and slathered loads of body lotion on my skin. It did need it!

    5. Dinner is on, the house is snuggly and warm and I am here typing this appreciating the little things in life, cup of tea, nice warm and clean home!
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Five for yesterday:

    1) Meeting up with a colleague in the office car park in the morning, and he voluntarily suggested that my coat, scarf and gloves were more suitable for the weather than the thin sweatshirt he had opted to wear.

    2) Meeting / techy seminar thing over lunchtime, so got a free lunch.

    3) And, as I missed my lunch break to go to the meeting, I was able to leave work an hour early. :j

    4) A$da pizza for dinner, my favourite Friday night treat.

    5) Opened a bottle of wine to go with it, and the neck of the bottle shattered when I turned the corkscrew. The pleasure - except for a few scratches, I am miraculously unharmed from ending up with a handful of broken glass.

    And for today:

    1) Nice lie-in.

    2) Popped up to the vet to get some more of Isis' special food, and got to admire a very tiny, very young fox terrier pup.

    3) Sharing cat pictures with some new Facebook friends.

    4) Gave in and gave Isis an early and rather generous supper, and she has now finally stopped meeping and gone to sleep. The silence is such a relief!

    5) Soup and pudding night tonight. :D
Back after a very long break!

    1) someone at work invited us to a crafting day. 3 of us could make it, and was great fun. we all made some cards, ate her hm caulie soup and the most lish soda bread ever (she's been on a bread making course across the river) and laughed our socks off
    2) spent 90 mins to get as much housework done as i could. 90 mins seemed not too long to feel hard done by but enough to make a difference
    3) now sitting in front room, candles all lit, fire on, classicfm date night on
    4) we made valentines day cards among others. have 14 days to find a valentine, but will probs give it to gbf for fun
    5) luton 3 cambridge 2. that'll learn ya for putting us out the tin cup :rotfl:

Just in, just here - and now 'Oh, no!' and instantly, tears at more utterly useless, pointless horror, as I hear of the apparent beheading of Mr Goto....and think simultaneously of his mother's pleading.

I elect Old-Style Pleasures as my weapons of choice, in a chosen battle, pencils and words, literal and figurative.

    1. The Now Show was quickly The S-now Show as &set off to-the-dump/ to-the-dump/to-the dumpdumpdump.... Blizzard white-out+A14=treacherous mix, but 4 lovely men at destination helped, one bag each[neighbour's smallholding detritus, not compostable]

    2. The Now Show really DID set Saturday in & mind-field, so rugby it must be....and was. Just made it [went wrong slow way again through gown town]. Mud custard, more snow, some hail, plenty of rain throughout, but Good Grief! IT'S A WIN!!! When did we last have one of those?
8 - NIL/ZERO/NOUGHT/NOTHING/NUL. Personne peut le croire:-) Happy all.

    3. Post-match disbelief recovery zone, aka downstairs. 2 young Army men came and sat while Bath sneaked past 'quins[sorry, villagelife]and conversation ensued, as usual:-). Both have 5 years to do, then finito. Had come by train to watch a friend picked for 1st XV for 1st time, but he was off injured after 12mins. They spoke spontaneously about trying to get to NZ or Canada, both wives being teachers[in demand], one having rugby-mad twin girls and all of both families play at some level or another. More happy.

    4. Dramatic horizon aflame as I left, just as 3 weeks ago, when YP and & left rugby, en route to Paddington.
    Memory Bank happy.

    5. Emporium outpost, hit jackpots various:
[a] offered choc-caramel shortcake squares by caff boy. 'Take 2, it'll be thrown out otherwise and we're not allowed to take it home.'
    OK then.
For years now, even drawing blank with ancient mse Thread, have not found smashed 'beer-bottle' sugar pieces UNTIL TONIGHT. New in, or just back - matters not.
    Unexpected happy.
[c] & still aisle-trawling on rugby Planet Zog, but came to, hearing chap>to shelf-stacking colleague 'I don't know. I had to leave at half-time to come here, didn't I? But I'm playing for Nomads tomorrow...'
Asked if 'that' result was needed? Yes:-)
Imparted joyous tidings. Disbelief replay. All the sameoldsameold Kicking blah blah pointless blahblah WHY???? stuff piling out. But the pain diminished as 'US 8, THEM 0' was repeated.
rtc boy then did his stuff and & has SO much to share out tomorrow - Bighams dishes et al, all 39p! Just wonderful, esp. in view of em from friend, read during the writing of these. Hope Nomads benefit on pitch tomorrow too:-)

    Rock on, Mr Lydon.
'Tie Your Mother Down' as loved by &, sounds about right chez Raffles tonight.
    Lady bopsie, choc on!

    Thanks for the welcomes.

    1. Roast chicken for dinner - my favourite
    2. Tomorrow's dinner cooked just needs to be heated up (chicken and leek cobbler using the roast leftover) and tomorrow's lunch cooked (jackets while the roast was in) so an easy day tomorrow!
    3. More chicken and leek mix ready for pancakes later in the week
    4. Lovely messages from friends, one at work, one in my home town, and one in America - much needed thank you.
5.Half price curry sauce in liddley today (even though the half price turkey steaks were all gone :( ) I know it's not very old style but working full time, sometimes I just need an easier meal!
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

    Quick pleasures for today:

    1) A lie in.

    2) Lots of phone calls from smaller son.

    3) Bigger son's injected arms OK.

    4) Painted! 3rd and final coat on the new plaster in sons' room and glossed the skirting board, window sill and door surround.

    5) Pie and chips from the van. It snowed 1cm just while I was in the queue.

    6) Spent the evening watching television in front of the fire.

    Evening all :)

Bah humbug, lost previous longer message. This is a summary version.

    Five pleasures for Saturday:

    1. Trip to bank, via W8rz drinks machine on the way back to the car but no spends hence the final NSD of the month.

    2. Massive cull taking place of our surfeit of stationery. Am about half way through. We have a lot because of educational stuff and self-employment but a lot is no longer needed so has to go. Did a detour via the knitting pattern collection and reduced those down to patterns I might actually make or make again. Rest is in the CS box,

    3. Woke up to a respectable sprinkling of snow which remained on the ground for much of the day.

    4. Wheat free pasta and pesto for a quick supper.

    5. Enjoying listening to 'Dancing Backwards' on radio iplayer while sorting out the kitchen. I likee being able to listen to most of a 10 part serial all in one go.

    Sweet dreams
    B x
