B. Sting!
Three mins for a train, another free lunch, rain is best indoors, fraser, not the scot variety, walking dogs and snow bombs
5 Now BoP had anovver interview thsi day, in Wales and it looks good. Last one looked good as well! BoPsie came along for the trip, and noted some white stuff on hill. Unconfirmed as BoP was driving at the time. Loads of Yellow Stuff
4 Today afterwards BoP decided to really pig out, and he has done so, Snorkers, mushrooms, egg and toast with beans! Rubs tum, and it is very important to rub tum. BoPsie, currently is not allowed a beast of a feast, as she is booked in for her 18 month bum job, so prep has to be made. Now, BoP is inspected once for three inspections of BoPsie, and boy, I see the sachets of sand ready to do there damage the morrow. Is important, as BoP, last inspected at Easter 2012, is one of only 16 in the test group not to have been C'd. BoPsie, whom is due on Saturday has some special BoP food bought in. Kedgeree for tea, with Jelly and ice cream Now how kind is that of BoP. And thoughtful to boot
3 Another interview booked for next week! Bristol this time, just waiting now!
2 night BoP is offski to club of camera to winn with his entries. One of a seal, and I hear the beavers have been loosed in the river as well!

Good evening everyone :hello:
The earthquake last night was not felt by me as I was driving, but apparently the earth moved for DH.He even said that the gin bottles rattled! :rotfl:
Did anyone else see Eat Well For Less this evening? I could have done the programme in 5 mins. "Do the downshift challenge and store cupboard challenge which Martin's been going on about for years". *sigh*
1) Friend has recorded an "eyewitness report" about the local earthquake so that I can use this in my observed lesson on Monday.
2) An old school friend, who now lives in Australia, has just waved her little boy on his way to being a "big boy" at school. It's a lovely story, which made her local press: http://www.queanbeyanage.com.au/story/2848778/conrads-very-first-day-of-school/?cs=1529
3) My bake off group are making gingerbread men tomorrow, using this recipe. It worked really well last time, so I'm using it again! My cousin in Canada sent me some cookie cutters from Ikea, but it means we have moose and various other creatures - as well as traditional gingerbread boys/girls.
4) A couple of competitions entered with the closing date of tomorrow. Fingers crossed for that holiday...
5) Snow! It's one of the simple things in life. The class insisted that I took a photo of our fantastic school field, which we can see from the classroom. Think this will now be the background on my school laptop for all to see.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Battled through snow to get to appointment in neighbouring town to find shutter down and building empty  a phone call would have been nice but there were pleasures to be found!
1. Visited friend and her little girl for a catch up and a special cup of tea from little 'uns special tea set. Lots of kisses and cuddles for her Auntie :heartsmil
2. Lunch at nan and grandads. Get spoilt with food whenever I go round!
3. Currently in bed alone, OH downstairs, sometimes I just like an early night with a Horlicks and the bed to myself
4. Purple Kittens post reminding me to put the bin out!
5. Meat and Veg box delivery culminating in slow cooker chicken and bacon hot pot. Delish!
Stay safe in these adverse weather conditions folks xxxComper, Blogger & OS-erCompetition prizes: £6/£20150 -
Funny old day - emotions high in work! Makes you think hard about life! Also too tired all the time - need to sleep for a week but can't and its making me stressed and grumpy!!!
Even more reason to come up with my 5!
1. Friend is in hospital - super fit runner type - 46 with suspected stroke!!! not good at all - but reminds me that although I don't feel fit and am tired and grumpy it could be so much worse! (thoughts go to her and her family!)
2. Still amazes me that kids love spam! (kids had spam egg and HM wedges and loved them!) - I have a never ending Spam mountain courtesy of the Rev Mother (don't ask!!!)
3. Now snow here (well a few flurries but didn't stick!) now don't get me wrong I like the snow to look and paly in but to work and drive is a nightmare!!!!
4. Big meeting today with chairman chief exec etc My first time chairing and went really well everyone accepted what I was proposing and now all I need is them to put their money where their nods were! (might not be quite so easy!)
5. Weekend of peace and quiet ahead to get my assignments done - will stock up on a few good things to eat and drink but after that will be happy at home getting on with things (sounds mad but actually looking forward to it!!!)0 -
Another day, another airport lounge
Bye bye Singapore hello Hong kong
It's a tough old life
Champagne is flowing nicely at 7.54 am
Such wonderful, kind people in Singapore. Beautiful gifts given to us, so kind, so unnecessary. I am back in May so will reciprocate
Great tour, on a duck:p. Amphibious vehicle tour of the harbour and the old colonial area. A trip round the gardens of the bay - stunning and a trip up to the sky park, a "boat" 64 storeys high
Singapore cricket club for dinner - such a beautiful place, once by the sea and now somewhat inland - even though it hasn't moved
DS tonsillitis is improving. Boy is never ill unless I am away. Doc has prescribed some anti bs and some acne cream - I have been trying to persuade him into the acne cream for a while
OH says new bathroom coming along a treat. May even be finished now
A meeting with new students and induction - they were so appreciative of us being here. One looked like a Chinese Leonardo di caprio
Have a good sleep folks. See you in Hong kong.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Back after a short absence, nothing wrong, but not much happening either. So after the excitements of last week and Tommy Emmanuel here we go with something far more mundane...
1. Some nice goodies in the post, getting a lot of offers of 'stuff'. The lovely thing about the Chinese stuff I get offered is that I can pass it on once reviewed, which I am not allowed to do with the stuff that comes directly from Amazon.
2. Proper cold weather meals - beef casserole with a dumpling topping today. I'd bought some dumpling mix greatly reduced nearing the UBD, but it was a tiny amount really.
3. The beauty of the park and fields around in the snow.
4. Not having to go out in the snow. One of my former teaching in the community colleagues who also doesn't run a car was worried about travel this morning, but it went like clockwork for him. I don't miss that worry about buses not turning up and the possibility - which nearly happened once - of being stranded 15 miles from home. The snow meant I had to reschedule a meet up with a former student but that was easy enough and done in good time on Wednesday, as soon as the first flakes fell.
5. My first subscription Big Issue has arrived. I never seem to see our seller Julian/Yulian any more so I decided to get a subscription. Unlike every other subscription this one isn't reduced from the street price so that profits for Big Issue are maximised.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I watched, and am watching again as I was serving supper whilst it was on and missed a bit, the Eat Well for Less programme from BBC 1 this evening.
Nothing I didn't know about budgeting but why didn't they test Yorkshire Tea at the bowling club? Very few people I know of dislike it, and to me it is just the best by a very long way. Especially Yorkshire Gold.
Did anyone else notice that the products came from several supermarkets - three at least- with Tesco tea, cheese and orange juice, Morrisons cornflakes, Aldi ketchup? That isn't something they mentioned.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Good to see you newlywed
1. Lovely lunch with DGD2
2. Big fusses and cuddles with with Izzy (Isabel) her Spitz
3. Postie brought me, or rather the cats, two full sized boxes of dry food to trial
4. Called into Mr S to stock up on milk etc., in case it snows
No number 5, came out of the sm into a blizzard, it was bright sunshine when I went in 15 minutes before! A nightmare white-out drive home. The only good thing I can say about it is that it's gone now.
Sweet dreams0
