CCP - cat ignoring tree? Wow! Finally at the Right Desk? (Do tell, Advent frog shelter? Imagination hopping!) Smoked salmon & not getting soaked are both definite pleasures! How do owners at vets cope with your dog whispering? Glad or baffled?!
Broomstick - my bathwater goes through colour changes too. Organic milk powder sounds a handy storecupboard staple. Bless DS2 for the cough sweets & hoping the wretched bug takes itself off so you can enjoy Christmas properly.
sparrer - that table sounds superb, aethetic & delicious! Happy family feeding and fun silly fivers - now rest until the next thing?!
bagpuss - beef stew & dumplings sound utterly blissful...
Skint yet Again - you seem to have Christmas sorted <Awe!> Hope boss cooperative with need to prepare to escape?
greywitch - how do you differentiate between fairycakes and rock cakes (being but a very indifferent cook here, I reckoned about 10 minutes.)
BoP - winter warmer veg soup - just imagining that is a pleasure! Dragged shoe shopping? More interviews? May good things come.
VickyA - real rugby in Toulon? There's getting the good stuff at source! Well done batch cooking chilli & the Bolshoi should be *magical* <stifles envy> Well done on Christmas cards, credit card & all best with S order!
mhagster - a gingerbread house In German?! Is there no end to your family's talents?! Heard of the hostage situation & rushed here for reassurance - Very glad you are OK & well done DD1 on uni offer & DD2 on report card!
Purple kitten - very well done on the quiz & raffle prizes - you never know when a judiciously filled flask is exactly the Right Thing. Decorations go up when heart & hands are in synch, there are no Rules, surely?! Helped by the animals, best of all!
mcculloch - I do admire your Amazon reviewing & how much you enjoy the process & the rehoming! Especially to the "meant to have" folk!
ampersand - bother Spits being dreich but splendid Emporium delights & I must study this "with a glance" technique! Joy for earring recovered & your role as conduit to grace clearly established!
villagelife - forgive me, I hadn't realised you had chickens. Finished ironing - thought that was a philosophical impossibility?
VJsmum - hurrah for DD now & Singapore in New Year & what can you do about poppies in transit?

    OS pleasures
That my hand, whislt sore, will mend & in the meantime responds to painkillers & drenching under the cold tap.

That I can still drive. (Muttering a lot, but with GP's permission.) Got boychick to his scan & back which was my biggest worry!

I will hand over the christmas card collection & the address book to my husband. And try not to smirk.

That weather permitting, I will get my fruit bushes into the ground this weekend. With help, as I can't actually hold a trowel, but I can point & pat.

I'm getting a hudl for Christmas - yippee! I'm really looking forward to learning a completely new operating system and figuring out how to make it do My Will. <puregeek>

Big hugs to all who need them, rousing cheers to all who have earned them (don't be modest!) and may the next few days pass relatively smoothly!

Have been a bit worried about Frith's absence, but just spotted her on FB, nothing untoward mentioned. Just a busy time of year and trying to get things done before the lads start hols I guess! Phew! . :D

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!

The frog shelter is one of these. Reactions to my dog magnetism tend to be a mixture of baffled and amused, often mixed with hasty apologies when the owner sees me getting coated in dog hair! :rotfl:

    1) Day off today, so it didn't matter that I was woken several times during the night by thunder.

    2) Tasty brunch of HM bread and smoked salmon, after a disastrous start involving a sliced finger and smoking toast when I went to bandage the cut and forgot about the bread under the grill. :o

    3) NSD and NPD.

    4) Finished the quiz for the work lunch do tomorrow - I just need to make it look pretty tomorrow before we go.

    5) Received another competition prize in the post - this month is going really well from a comping perspective. :j
Back after a very long break!

  • Just about to catch up on posts :o

For Tuesday, had a wonderful day off.
1.The kitchen design is basically perfect now, I need to accept we need so much done that even in the sale it is more expensive than I allow for but we are “investing” in the quartz worktop. Have to make decisions and think of buying it in the next week.:o
2.Came home had a quick 40p “gourmet” pizza and cuppa before heading over in the direction of the theatre but headed off to shops to sort out a birthday and Christmas present and just ambled around a lot:D
3.We took drinks and food with us to keep the costs down and noticed a lot of people did the same so didn’t feel guilty. Saw an amazing rock and roll Christmas show, sang so much my throat hurts, danced laughed had a wonderful time and all on a work night.:T
    4. Home to a wonderful greeting the animals.

    For Today
    1. Did my last part of work and handed over.:)
    2. Used my rail ticket to head on over to dads
    3. Dad happy for company and regaled us with war stories I love to hear.
    4. DH picked up some reduced items while picking up dads shopping.
    5. Just written all of the Christmas cards and all complete:)

    Yup! *nods sagely*

Skint yet Again - so sorry to hear about DP's uncle. Much love to you.

ampersand - here it is. As seen from my seat.

    My pleasures for today:

    1) Went to the Leicester Tigers shop for their Christmas shopping night. Season ticket holders got 20% off, so managed to pick up a few bits... for myself. :o There were some players *sigh* in there too, signing a book. I drooled. This was most definitely a pleasure. ;)

    2) £10 Amazon voucher received for doing various Avios surveys. They've also credited my Avios account with a fair few points too.

    3) Pasta & sauce for supper. Yum. Just what was needed in the week that is full of Christmas parties at school!

    4) Have signed up to a course called "Introduction to Dutch" on Future Learn. https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/dutch I have a fascination for learning languages, but don't have the money to pay for lessons. My A-level French gets me through my knowledge of French, but I'd love to improve.

    5) Time for bed.

    Good night all.
