2. Took hound to park he came back covered in mud. He dragged me upstairs and jumped in the bath !! I have never known a dog do that - he threw himself in it !!:rotfl:
3.Almost sorted for the "C" word . Just got to wrap the few wrappable things -as voucher city here you know. Sparrer tis the season to pull skin off bottom lip again with the sellotape struggle !!
4. OH making tea .
5. Washing dried on line - sheets, jeans etc a miracle !

Thanks for burfdee wishes - despite the shameless touting:p
I had a lovely day. We went out for a meal as a family and the kids talked to each other, best pressie ever. And I had pigeon
Yesterday was my last teaching day of term - it was ok.
Then OH and I caught a lunchtime train to the lakes and are currently in the swan at grasmere. oH won a weekend in a random, draw - we are not sure how random it is given he paid the corporate bill when the company stayed. Any how we have been given a posh room with a four poster. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant last night - where I had haggis ( not the dog!):D for th first time. It was yum.
The cheeseboard was a great adventure - this one with fig, that one with walnuts etc
Today we had a full English and have walked over the hills for four hours. The forecast was awful but we escaped any bad weather. Just had a lazy bath and looking forward to our meal tonight,
Hope the kids haven't trqshed the house :rotfl:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Glorious sounding sleb-rations, vjm - memory bank well and truly in the black, just as it should be.
re: 'where I had haggis ( not the dog!) ', je suppose it depends on how many socks the mhags household can do without at any one time...
& bets dd and ds will have done a surprise crimbo house for dp's return....?
1. Not long in - well, long enough to have finished icing-writing letters and words and names on all the gingerbreads, now bagged and prettied up. Glad that's done.
2. ...another £75-ish postage:eek:...but gone, gone, gone...on their little wing-fleet ways are they, hemispheres mostly>Sarf, two>Norf. & had a total surprise and LOVELY receipt of sthg - ykwya - and has set postie a pretty fierce challenge by return.i.e. & l-h cursive.:o
3. Disbelief, but huge pleasure - actually managed to speak to oldest enzed schoolfriend[Standard 1, Mr Ennor, Nelson Park School, 1955] this a.m. This has not worked since return in June and & needed to address check. Mutual parcels en route:-) Much caught up on, but praying that PhD can bring new start, sense of safety, an end to previous Life horror, fulfilment and raison d'être. Huge email has followed on and tells more. Found self relating a 1st early a.m. thought: 'Could we have predicted/believed/said '60 years on from now, such-and-such an unlikely/rare/heart-ache situ. will befall us both, identically, and we will survive?'
4. Ghastly [STRIKE]feeling[/STRIKE]certainty it was NOT neighbour's chipmunk
that twice ran out from back hedge/farm-line for munch under birdie feeder this morning. Now, in systèmes chinoises & is indeed that particular 4-foot, but wishes nothing more kindred, thankyou. Deadline, down where other creatures cannot nibble...demain, first thing.
5. Decent Library stock-up chosen for next little while. Odd reverbe of another emporium green token on bus floor. Found its way into the Headway coffer in the Grafton Centre Little Emp. Hwb and bed now tempting, v.v.v.cold in last hour. Bed needs conversion back from leaning tower/conveyor belt packing line first...
6. Made the acquaintance of Ruby, a totally delicious little 8-mths charmer, the Original Pinky-Winky Laughter Baby, and her papa. Turns out she is the very much unexpected 5th child[4th daughter], with eldest now 22! They were all out together,[inc. 14 y-o bro. @ 6'3''] shopping, and a VERY handsome, lit-up family all round. Special people - it was one of those chance crossings of paths that make a day and leave a glow.
7. Toulon se r!veille après la pause face au Lou (30-6)! - tonight's match headline, Var-Matin. Apparently, Bernard Laporte could be heard from afar at half-time, Toulon 6-3 down...

bop - you did not say how you felt i/v went. Fingers x'd for good news.
bagpuss - Your 2 just feels lovely, even to read.
sparrer - Paddington and Mr Turner are probably &'s 2 and only films for the next decade. Young person and I had same thought, so may make an odd couple some time this century.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Heigh ho. Fell deeply asleep in front of the fire and a nondescript film then DS2 came home late and has just woken me up.:D
Five pleasures for Saturday:
1. Had a bath with the another of the Lush bath bombs that DSs gave me as a present a while ago. Very treatsy as I usually a) only ever have showers to save water and b) never buy myself stuff for the bath. Good start to the day.
2. Got the dregs of the woodpile brought indoors and everything cleared for the new lot of wood next week.:)
3. Chatting to a few of the neighbours in the street at various times today - gently sociable.
4. Pegging out washing by torchlight!
5. Being asleep in front of a blazing stove.
Off to bed proper. Sweet dreams.

Hello from Hotland, still 30o at 7.30pm and was about 35o earlier on.oooft!
Woke up so, so early and was wide awake....at 4am. Phoned my MIL and had a lengthy chat with her.
Was hoping to see Casualty but it's not on until next year! So I had a tidy up of the kitchen instead.
Went a nice long walk through parkland with OH and pup, poor thing gets a bit overwhelmed when other dogs run up to say hello...some being friendlier than others, he doesn't seem to quite know what to make of it all.
Local cafe for some brunch but it was starting to get really hot by this time.
I love their pumpkin and feta tart.
May or may not have had a snoozette....was sitting upright and not the most comfortable of snoozes and a strange dream too.
Went to cinema ( half price tickets on a Sunday) with DD1 to see Paddington, it was the most gorgeous film . We laughed out loud, we gasped out loud!
Have just wrapped the last of my gifts , there will be no more purchased!
Listening to Christmas carols as I wrap.....and being all hot and sticky in the heat.
Happy Sunday one and all0 -
Fa la la la laaaaa
1. Homemade rumball mix cooling, i may have had a little taste..that's gonna be pressie for best mate sorted for under £2 with some left for me...I mean to share
2. Washed up!
3. Washing dried!
4. Good life Christmas special on TV last night, wonderful
5. Oh bought me an aldi cast iron frying pan for Christmas. ..woohoo...I'm getting old, all I asked for was sensible things, frivolity is unaffordable!
Three weeks of no veg orders...3 weeks of no money, oh joy to the world!

5 for yesterday (Saturday).
1) A lie in.
2) Despite my fears of driving even a short distance with the bike rack/bigger son's bike on the back of my car, managed to drive 50 miles without anything falling off!
3) Went geocaching in Mortimer's Forest.
4) Picnic lunch (in the car as it was cold).
5) An hour or so of storming Wigmore Castle. I prefer castles that are not touristy (and that are free). http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/daysout/properties/wigmore-castle/
6) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
7) Watched Strictly.
8) Pie and chips from the van.0 -

winter soltice today so days will slowly be getting lighter0 -
Skint belated condolences to you
VJsmum very belated birthday wishes
Chicken I've joined your voucher club this year - well 50% of the way there, so much easier and less painful than getting getting stuck up!
Frith congratulations on driving that distance with the bike rack.
1. I have nothing to buy, wrap, post, deliver etc. I'm done. Phew
2. Took a tub of chocs, bought bogof last week, to lunchtime meeting with friends so I'm not tempted at home. Did have quite a few there though
3. Not at all OS but made me smile, I realised I have my laptop, tablet, phone and camera on charge, and satnav will be when I take muttley to the dog sitter shortly. Life used to be much less complicated when we had a map and phone boxes. Sent a text to DS, he just returned with 'welcome to the 21st c Mum'! Just been told the tablet is also a camera so will get my 17 y/o DGS to give me a tutorial.
4. Got the car cleaned this morning. For goodness' sake why, I'll be driving 200 miles on mways tomorrow! But it's only £10 and keeps the men in work, and they do a very good job...trying to justify my madness
5. Having big cuddles with ToppyDog, he's all brushed and smart and ready to go to the sitter. I'll miss him so much, but DS and family have a nutcase of a Springer so my old boy is better off where his companion is an elderly Cocker, it's peaceful and he has his own sofa.
Have a peaceful evening and quiet night0 -
