  • Good morning all!

DFV- "both" men in my life are over indulged (one with fur and the one without fur) . I hope that you are feeling better?

PK- yep - pet blankets all washed here too x

    a few for yesterday

    1. Shock horror watched 5 films - slept through 2 though .Amaz*n pri*e

    2. Pretty much up to date - wrapped presents . Much cursing - just me and OH and squillions of people to by for who rarely say thank you. This bothers me too much as I would sooner give it to charity tbh.Have decided will knock some of this on head next year - nephew and niece have several kids so will just get for kids and token gift for them . It will only be me that has the guts to do this , then they will all sigh with relief and follow suit - family dynamics eh?

    3. Take away of the golden arches kind :o

    4. Hen house clean and shiny - nice new bedding too .

    5 for today

    1. Lie in as off until 29th -woo hoo !

    2. Hound jumped in our clean bed on my side after having done his morning business in muddy garden . Sat there like butter wouldn't melt - as I cannot do stairs quickly unlike him :rotfl:Washing machine on again...

    3. Free "trolley" token for using certain loo rolls came in post today
If it didn't have writing on it would make a great dog tag !

4.Made some HM curry a while back and froze in separate bags. That's tea tonight then - use up week I think

    5. Got to wait in for fancy pants beef for xmas dinner coming from Scotland .Have tiny terrier (DMums) snuggled up to me as I type .

have a good day all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
  • BoP's alternative 12!

Thirst day of Xmas, BoP drank some wobbleades!
Second day of Xmas, he forgot his oven gloves
Third day of Xmas, he cooked a Chickenopolis, non French versions!
Froth day of Xmas, BoP finally got stirred
Frith day of Xmas, BoP put on five gas rings, well yous got to get the sprouts done!
Sixth day of Xmas, Thought of DD and watched the Mariners playing
Severnth day of Xmas, he wet to the Wetlands Trust, the plaice to see swans!
Eighth day of Xmas, There must be a queue for the Ladies Toilet!
Ninth day of Xmas, Nutcracker Ballet, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again!
Tense day of Xmas, everyone will be sleeping?
Elevenses day of Xmas, Piping hot toddies, with biscuits and cream.
Twelfth day of Xmas, I will be drumming up a selection of snorkers!

5 Waltzed pass on the roundabout this mourning, the queue to get into the emporium, as we finally finished playing house chess. Looks fab now. Then home, and BoPsie, still feeling weathered after her night owl tactics, murmers in her coffee. Buck of Face pal, has got uptight, as the emporium has emailed and cancelled her order! Ha ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha, bloody ha! Rule of Thumb from BoP
Ok, so it is PANIC SATURDAY so here is some advice from BoP on how to not worry about it.

Right, got it. We has everything inn. Got. No more required.

4 Now that is Christmas sorted, and here is another extract from the rule book accordion to BoP. Chapter 25, verses 17:30
Alas, I hear people sway, with all this food this festive day. No room hath I for pudding, not after that bloody stuffing. BoP spoketh to those gathered near. 'No pudding at lunch, this day my dears. But later, when the streets are lightened, and stomachs less than tightened, at half past the five O'clock, the whisky will be poured, over the plum pud, so recently stirred. A light will glow forth and the pud will go.'
BoP then minded those so gathered, not to use Brandy, as the Frogs were renown and were still selling in May 1982

3 And of course we had a run to the dump this mourn, and ridded oursens of clutter. No queue, unlike the roundabout to the emporiums, those sheeple must suffer!

2 Day, I has no news about that interview of the other day!

1 Be done with this bauble, BAH HUMBUG

    1. Someone daft decided to pop over the bridge for some bits from Costco, the pleasure is we survived, note made not to do that next year.:o
    2. Washed the stairs, as the carpet is up, and tidied up a bit more
    3. Stopped in at a big blue bus for a brekkie and tea.:D
    4. Just about to clear out the tin cupboard to know what’s in there.
    5. Ever so sleepy so a lazy evening ahead.
    6. Bought some LED bulbs on offer and just swapped all the hallway and bedroom ones, surprised how much it looks like it will hopefully save.:money: Oh dam I sound sad...:rotfl:

    :santa2: Evening everyone :santa2:

Nearly the big day! I see BoP and BoPsie are already getting practise in for a day with my parents and brother on Christmas Day, with their sampling of the wobbleade!

My heart goes out to those people in Glasgow whom have been affected by today's tragedy.

    My pleasures today:

    1) Mooch around a local town with a friend. We celebrated Christmas by going to a pub for lunch. Pizza and a drink for £10 each. Not bad! Totally stuffed now.

    2) Bought flowers for my Grandma via an online florists, using a 20% discount code AND going via TopCashback! Therefore, I saved £8. Not that Grandma remembers me (dementia), but hopefully the flowers will enhance her Christmas and the other residents of her care home.

    3) Wrapped my presents. DH is amazed.

    4) Sorted the menu for New Year's Eve. We have 3 friends coming over, so it'll be a treat to cook something different! Whether it'll be a treat to eat, is a different issues.

    5) Finished listening to Justin Welby's "Desert Island Discs". Really interesting - and a good, eclectic mix of music. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04vd69f

    Night all. x

Do you do, as my OH does, take great pleasure in going through "the wrong tunnel"? EVERY BLIDDY TIME :rotfl:

LFS- nice to see you back, so pleased for your friend
VickyA- I have to sort a menu for New Years too. Any inspiration for me?

    Pleasures for last couple

Another wonderful meal at the Swan on sat night
A lazy travelly day yesterday - bus to Keswick (the miserable old g*t bus drivers amused us no end); an amble round and a coffee with the papers sat on squashy sofas (reminded me of Mhags :D)
Another bus to Penrith and a visit to a "fine food emporium" where we picked up some picnic bits to have on the train
Back home to an improving DS and an ailing DD - both have colds, rotten enough
    Nice lie in this morning
Gloss over the dentist and the need for a filling replacement (though it is the start of my mission to turn my rather large amount of metal into white fillings) vanity vanity
Lunch with girls - though competitive child rearing gets boring
Managed to do dentist and alidi shop.

Bed time pour moi - bonne nuit
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Quick update from me.

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Lots of phone calls from smaller son and he is GOING TO PLAY AT A FRIEND'S HOUSE TOMORROW!!!! This is the second friend he has ever gone to play with. In 11 years. This is a new friend from high school.

    3) Friend popped in with a Christmas present for me.

    4) Drove to Walsall (which took ages) to see a friend and made mince pies with 3 of her children. Her old colleague popped in - a posh ex jockey who had then been her boss in corporate entertainment (? or something) With them remembering the old days, it was like listening to a Jilly Cooper novel!

    5) Popped into Ikea on the way home for new and LED bulbs for the kitchen as the halogen ones have always blown after a month or so.

    6) Stopped at big shopping centre on the way home for very last bits of Christmas shopping.

    7) Maplins in nearest town to here for bits for brother and new sockets etc for replastering of boys' room in January. They were just shutting the doors but opened them for me and were very helpful.

    8) Big food shop at Sainsburys. Got home just after 10pm.

    9) In bed now and about to watch the Wrong Mans.

    Evening all :)

Five pleasures for Monday (some weeks, like this one, writing the day of the week here is the only way I keep track of which day we are on!):

    1. Woke at 7 listening to very blustery wind and went outside in my pyjamas :D to get in the washing that had dried overnight (it had been put out by torchlight!) Very MSE start to the day. :D

    2. DS1 and I took my parents to do their couple of bags of pre-Xmas food shopping which was exhausting for them despite the fact we were not doing it for terribly long. We then sat and had a chat and a cup of coffee in the cafe as a rest before getting them back home with shopping unloaded. It made it easier for them to have extra pairs of hands and door to door transport. I'm glad we could help.

    3. Presents wrapped last night and this afternoon.

    4. Tree put up and decorated, now twinkling in the corner of the room. Should have been done on solstice but not enough of us were at home to make that happen. Belated happy winter solstice everyone! Days are getting longer - definitely a pleasure.

    5. Toasty fire burning with last of the logs and the wind howling down the chimney.

    Sweet dreams

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Yesterday's pleasures:

    1) Found something even better than HM mine pies - HM mincemeat flapjacks.

    2) Located and ordered the last present I need for this year.

    3) Received confirmation that the office will be closing at lunchtime today, so I can go and collect said present.

    4) More showjumping from Olympia - it's not the same as being there, but still good to watch.

    5) Madam Super-Purr playing one of her favourite games - she sits on the arm of the chair, I throw her ball to her, and she bats it back to me. Repeat until my arm aches! :D
Back after a very long break!

    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Schools are on holiday so commute to work was lovely, no overcrowding on the bus and no traffic.
    2. OH getting a very nice bonus from work, DD also getting lots of lovely gifts from parents at work (very generous parents where she works), I got extra hours work for no pay from my work.
    3. Hearing the pleasure in parents voice as they had seen my niece with her lovely baby and had cuddles.
    4. Getting 2 of the yucky reports out just another 3 to go today.
    5. Giving is a present to someone with nothing is better than getting a present anyday.

Hugs to all who need them especially LFS
