It's Christmas Eve evening here , sun is shining and we will do our gift exchange tonight at midnight when it's dark and candles are shining and tree lights are sparkling.....it's just not the same with the sun streaming through the window!
Madly busy day at work, this is the first I've worked CE in about 6 years but although mad we had a nice festive feel with lots of good wishes from customers and carols playing.
Went to supermarket as I needed a few things and had a $20 off voucher, which for some reason wouldn't go through ....the very young checkout girl didn't seem to bothered about it....I was! A supervisor dealt with it.
Bought blackberries....actually bought them.....the bloody dog ate them! I was crushed! ( so were the blackberries)
Had a nice dinner with colleagues on Monday night, we all shared plates of Thai food. All expenses paidgot a nice gift from boss.
Poorly, feeling sorry for himself pup is a whole lot better today...he does not like the collar of shame! Lampshade will stay on for a few days.
Son has built my present to OH...just hope he doesn't find it in next few hours.
I drove to work today at early o'clock, sun was shining on the eucalyptus trees, parrots were flitting in and out of trees , so much purple from jacaranda and agapanthus. So pretty and so unlike Christmas Eve!
Have a lovely day0 -
LOL at the dog - sorry Mhags :rotfl:
Sitting in my face pack, before my bath. Fairly organised and a bit of a "sod it, it'll do attitude".
Pleasures for yesterday
Walked with wally the trolley into town. Got my varifocals
Finished last important bits of shopping
Cabin pressure
Lots of washing done, should catch up the last of it today
Did baking - mince pies, marzipaned the cake, etc
Have a lovely day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Sair heid and only myself to blame. Well me and friend up for crimbo who moved down to narwich 3 years ago. His bf hasnt come out to his parents so goes back home to italy for christmas on his own :-( on the plus side
1) last day at work. As usual didnt get as much done as hoped but got quite a bit done
2) lunch with gbf. Have given him his very own make your own sydney opera house (from the pound shop) and silly pressies as clues to each of wagner's 13 operas)
3) lovely evening with friend up from norwich. He proposed and we're off to honeymoon in new york today lol.
4) met dd1's old voilin teacher. Coincidence since norwich friend is dd1's old piano teacher
5) met up with friend of norwich friend who turns out is in final year of phd at hughes hall cambridge which is the college i was at when i did my teacher training. finished the evening with a reminisce about cambridge.
No return match from luton on the xmas video bop just last year's message from the chairman. And his name is something you use to make whisky ;-)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Jolly catch-up readings - thankyou all.
..........except Haggis's latest munch.
..........Frith and bathroom cowboys. No Reply Within x working days deadline in 1st letter? Small Claims Court next. Pay them nothing. When work is finally remedied, merely advise that. They squandered and bodged. Definitely NOMB, but & is riled for you.
Malware etc patrols &utah, but also slows everything down, leading to other freezes/wipes. No-one who does not live in a particular Notspot can know how it is. Posts which appear as ott rants here are no more than accurate or underplayed samples of a norm.
GREAT NEWS about FS2:-)
Will niece/nephew come on &'s day, je me demande?

1. Success on 4th attempt to find gbf couple in and gave things over. Their plans for new life in Spain[house bought outright, has to be made more livable]all steaming ahead. All good. Both now working f-t for A-porium to save and save.
2. Down to storage, found what I was looking for. Also card for proprietor and reassuring conversation. At first, feared marching orders. Opposite. Made it happily clear I wish to stay for at least another 2-3 years.
3. Deer running about a lot atm. Yesterday, 3 looking splendid in middle of road - had to stop while they decided which way and when.
4. Continuing to read JG Ballard's autobiography to mindset- and bed-bound person nearby, way younger than &, but partner's death just over a year ago has compounded 'decision'. Vicar is a saint with person, who is intelligent and it's such a waste. We talk a bit and to &'s amazement, found self stand and sing Adam Laye Y-bounden, as person expressed love for these older/mediaeval carols, but didn't know this one. Does now and has pinged it from spotify and we've made a good list on loop. I just over-ride the emotion and conviction re:latest terminal illness, say I'm doing so because unqualified medically and ask about x and y[so different thinking for unprogrammed answers has to happen], empathise and chat about ordinaries, but resume reading, which is being enjoyed.
I am so fighting glad I have not gone this way. I like the person: it should/could be so different.
5. Returned to winky phone - & has won The Hamper! - from place where young disabled adults garden and work. And another msg from young person[posts passim] - now has supervised place of own! About 50 miles off, but will learn more today.
'One life at a time....'
6. Cabin Pressure - heard outside emporium, then cba going in, so didn't. Drove back to No. 4 instead.

Anyone lost a robin?
Strange things happen sometimes. Bathroom, cowboys (James Stewart), Face Packs. PK, Tut Tut, lie in! Veg Box. No, ours come in a sack!
5 Ham still going, though is dwindling down rather fast now. Raffles is on the crumbs, but the crackling, you know where the apron goes. Now just making the goose so it is stuffed, apple and sage, bit of lemon and herbs.
4 Films downloaded. Watched again the My Shakespeare last evening. Now that girl, Cleo something. Gosh, what can I say about her. Keep me distance me thinks.
3 Cake, that was fed Whisky so recently has been cut, and tasted. And just what can I say, it has come pout perfect. It puts a glow on the day, moist. Well seeped in whisky. Note, no French off whine here. Now where is that nice Ebenezer man gone?
2 Night do not forget to put your stockings up, that Santa man does come round every year to spread all with cheer.
1 Be care when you wish, behind the doors, lurks ...0 -

Frith - double barreled the surname not "W.C" is it ? very fitting , if so- lol :rotfl:if so, my old boss, a very hardened race horse trainer would have said "he couldn't ride in the back of a cart with a pig net over it " !!
mhagster- purple poo to be sure ...might dye the socks too if your lucky.. . little monkey !!!
VJsmum- wally trolley not had an airing for a bit has it ?
PK-Nice post - Alpha female
1. Found the xmas table cloth in amongst the carp in the airing cupboard . Blue checked one that was wrapped around a picture that we got at an auction years ago. Quite fond of it .Now on washing line.
2. Sunshine !!
3. All prepared now - OH has the day off because he can . Came home with loads of alcohol, chocs and F&M biscuits -all gifts from clients.OH did his usual ritual of scouring the supermarkets for bargains , with some success . Vouchers we had saved now used.
4. Took hound out in sunshine !
5. Counting down - have DMum round this evening for snacks and booze (her that is)
Have a lovely Christmas all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Merry Christmas from Australia , it's now the 25th and gifts all exchanged and now in bed.....way past my bedtime!
