Sorry been MIA again and trying to catch up with posts.

    Pleasures for the last week
    1. Work has been so much better. By the end of last week I was ready to hand in my notice on Monday but it has suddenly just turned back around to a manageable level thank goodness.
    2. Lots of laughs even through the madness with a lovely work colleague.
    3. Lovely evening out with the people I used to work with until recently. Was so nice to catch up and I didn't have a bad head the next day as was sensible.
    4. Another lovely evening out with the group I volunteer with, yummy meal and great company and all reasonably priced.
    5. We saw Santa in his sleigh. The local rotary club go around all the streets every year with Santa in a pickup decorated as a sleigh collecting for local charities. DD nearly missed it but came sprinting around the corner just in time to see them :rotfl:, is something of a tradition for us.
    6. Presents that needed to be posted all posted in time and also found a good parcel delivery service near the office which is half the price of the post office plus it got there next day. :money:

Hugs to all who need them and hope all poorlies are feeling better

And it was at this point the ether stepped in and interrupted BoP's forts for the day!

OK, so aprts from rugby, Cedric, balls and kitchens and oitehr goings onb,. I shall continue unranted. This is unlike my posting that has been removed by the ether. Dam putahs. I call it the &itits

5 Now you lot know I swear the apron, and this day, the pies of minced, splashed with whisky, not brandy due to HMS Sheffield, have been hand rubbed, baked and plaiced in tub ready for a dash of cream and ... BoPsie has decided they are too good and are unlikely to matrure. I wear the apron!

4 Getting ready for interview to morrow. Now this plaice is about were the old man BoP would had wanted BoP to work. Not quite. Well, OMB, took BoP for interview at Midland, British, ways of the air, and he got himself a trip round hangar. On leaving, OBM could hardly contain himself, and enquired that Has the BoP worked on kites all his life. I rerplied, Yes. He stuttered and spoke. "No bloody wander you did no want to work on the docks then" OBM contained himself to chortle!

3 I appear to have been incompatibility tested on MSE by using IE 11. FORTUNATELY I can still use the shift key!

2 Now where was BoP, aye, I remember the rant now. It was that BoP got voucher from S emporium, so duly we ventured into the store, exacting a spend of £15. Now I do not need to say, but the ale of BoP was 85 pennies more expensive than BoPsie's usual emporium, and needless to say, so was most other things as well! We duly spent up to coupon limit, and packed. They may write again offering coupons, just like Mr T.

  • BOP: Good luck tomorrow, should be good everyone will be full of festivities.

    1. Up extremely early, as the vet is a fair way from us, DH took our 2 ferrets in to be castrated today, I was like a worried parent, the vets nurse was completely dopey over them.:o
    2. I’ve applied for what looks like a wonderful temporary job, I really have everything crossed I hear from them.
    3. It’s my last day tomorrow,:j I made it. I admit I had a wobbly last night of I should just take a job one came up but it would mean staying away DH and I supportive of saying nope not the way to go for us personally.
    4. Work presented me with a vast bunch of roses and lilys as a thank you:o, everyone was grinning at them as I was carrying them on the trains home.
    5. Was lovely to come back to DH full of Christmas cheer, wrapping up presents, and he was out Charity shopping today and found the perfect presents for his parents, one is an original its like an A5 book with proper photo's and all sorts of real war stories. I do the labels, and he does the wrapping as he’s so “neat”.:rotfl:
    6. Clearing the freezers down must have worked as we went to Mr T tonight again, and lucked out yet again. We arrived just as they turned up with the mark downs all sorts of festive wonders bacon packaged as “festive bacon”:rotfl: it implies its seasoned with things, we will see, beef, pork and all manner of bits and pieces a ridiculous amount of meat was got. Very lucky Oh and fruit and veg a lovely and lucky evening as loaded up with vouchers as well that all still worked:money:

    Evening all :)

VickyA, I saw that Dutch course and was tempted but I really want to get my French up to speed again first. I'm hoping they'll re-run it.

    BoP, good luck for tomorrow.

VJsmum, a pee burf day to you! :bdaycake: I'm sugar and wheat free as well so this cake is arriving from a very understanding kitchen and the cake tastes just like burf day cake ought to. :D

    Five pleasures for Thursday:

    1. Am starting to feel much better and am coughing less.

    2. Wrote a gigantic and comprehensive shopping list to restock the cupboards. I last did that in the summer when I was about to go into hospital and we've now worked our way through much of those stocks. It was a bit odd shopping for lots of tins of beans and things like loo rolls when everyone else was getting posh food but I did it.

    3. So it all got put away and the cupboards are now making gentle groaning noises again with lots of staple foodstuffs and other essentials.

    3. Discovered a recent video on youtube of an ex lecturing at a conference. Enjoyed watching it - looked and sounded happy - there weren't any acrimonious feelings after we split up but we've lost contact now.

    5. Caught up on various things on iplayer including the Secrets of the Castle which has been really interesting.

    Sweet dreams

Happy birthday to you vjsmum hope you were thoroughly spoiled and well done PK on making it to the end! Enjoy those flowers, I'm envious of your bargains. When I lived in UK a I was queen of the rtc stand ..used to often a meet a friend there who thought the same way I did!
I'm very lucky if I get 10% off here for rtc....but every little helps

A work day most horrid....the tongue I've been biting for weeks was almost bitten off today!could so easily have said 'see ya' today! However...needs must , tongue was bitten , I think my disapproval was sensed but whether it's taken notice off I doubt! Anyway, tomorrow is another day and then a day off.

So for some pleasures, sun shone, not too hot and with a cool breeze.

Thankful for main colleague who I work with day in and day out....had a hug and a few 'I hear ya" , "I feel ya" s today! She kindly bought me a box of tunnocks teacakes and a can of irn bru! ( sold in work town supermarket) she shares my work frustration.

Treated myself to a lovely pair of shoes. Reduced by 66%.....shop 2 along is closing down and I'd seen them in the shop window, a mustard leather wedge.

Didn't have long to wait for a train, enjoyed the walk home and looking in gardens , lots of stunning agapanthus just now. They are very majestic looking. DD1 and pup met me.....had a chat and free advise from one of my customers , who's a vet and just returned from mat leave....so had a Labrador puppy exasperation chat with her!

Went into next town with DD1... Operation Christmas is done and just needs wrapped! I am buying no more other than small foody gifts for my kids and OH. Done and dusted!

I was just going to bring OHs out of my car when he pulled up in the drive, so had to stand in front of my car( was in a big bulky box) and look kind of daft and then walk all the way around to the front of the house ( we live on a big corner plot) and go in the front door! Not very subtle but I don't think he saw it!

Catching up on some UK telly tonight. Will go for a dog walk soon.

Have a lovely day :) hurrah for Friday and this time next week , the big day will have been and gone. This date the past 2 years I've been home in Scotland for Christmas , just arriving at our country cottage. Whilst I still miss family and friends I'm happy to be in Australia this year and looking forward to a summer Christmas:)

frith chicken and marmite hope all is well.
  • 1-5 I am a free lady, returned all my work gear, and took the lunch opportunity to go shopping for some stocking filler bits for DH. The last time I didn’t have a job it was terrible unexpected and unplanned, this time with thanks to MSE and determination we have saved and planned, and touch wood we will be fine.:money: I am not going to freak out I am going to try and take the opportunity to enjoy it – I don’t think it’s sunk in just yet – other than the purse strings are pulled tight shut now but that’s no different to normal.:rotfl:
    6. When I got back DH had set up our 4G router, it works brilliantly touch wood and a sim inside means we can use it as a phone, we phoned up both BT and the other internet provider and gave them both notice instead of all the extortion per month we will paying £15 all in a great saving.:money:
7.I came home and did a massive task that I have been putting off for about 2 years now and I should be continuing instead of typing:rotfl:.. we have a box room we call “the office” it’s packed literally solid with piles of paperwork and junk everywhere, so I spent a long time sorting recycling digging down to surfaces and floor and it’s nearly there, one more run at it and we will have it back as an office which would be useful now.
    8. We have so much food from the rtc’s I couldn’t justify a celebratory takeaway so we will have one at some point that suits, instead we have all rtc chicken and veg with stock made from the chuck turned into a casserole slow cooking.:T
    9. Used my last work lunch so they could pay for me to shop effectively:rotfl: got some stocking filler choccy and a little car that drives up walls. ohhh and pringles the big size where in the 99p shop er and my basket.:o
10.DH has bought some wax drops not sure of the spelling, the sort that go in a candle/oil burner these are Christmas scented and smell literally wonderful burning at the moment.:)
    11. Ordered our ill ferrets some stock specialty food in it’s come up on BOGOF offer, very rare.
  • Ello girlie's,
    1. Mommy called and made me laugh
    2. Oh gave me enough money to buy Christmas food
    3. Fudge brownie cupcakes
    4. Hmmmm cherry 7up
    5. Washings nearly dry on the airer
life's been a bit eugh lately. Ho hum!

    2. Bit of a lie in
    3. Finished wrapping Christmas presents just one to go for film which is being delivered on Monday.
    4. Invited to friends for drinks tonight and to swap presents, err presents..... but managed to find enough things in my present cupboard to cover the extra gifts plus they are all nice presents that cost pennies :money:
    5. Enjoyed a walk in the sunshine today, not doing enough walking at the moment so was lovely to enjoy the fresh air
