Thanks everyone, have vac'ed it and given it a good upside down shake, just turned it on again, (got it on a wooden tray) and it says the fan is not working. It's so hot in just 5 minutes it's going off now til I take it to DD for her tech knowledge tomorrow. Rotten luck, means I have to get on with the ironing! Have a good evening :)

    Evening everyone :hello:

ampersand - I had a great time despite the score! However,... Cedric? I'm afraid I must be missing something. :o

mcculloch - how lovely! I hope you have a lovely warm feeling in your tummy.

    My pleasures for today:

    1) My class recorded the reading of an osprey story, written by a volunteer at the local osprey project. It's going to be put on their website and will be shown internationally. The class are beside themselves with excitement!

    2) Came home to find DH was making a large batch of chilli con carne. Some eaten tonight, but the rest will find its way to the freezer.

    3) Managed to do some recycling of some magazines, catalogues etc. More to do, but this is a BIG step for me. It needs to be done every now and again, but I am a minor hoarder by nature/nurture.

    4) Arranged to go with my mum to the live broadcast of The Nutcracker, performed by the Bolshoi Ballet. Looking forward to it.

    5) Dropped off a parcel at a local newsagent, sending back my *sob* new boots. I loved the look of them, but sadly my calves are a little larger than required and they didn't actually fit on my feet. :( Ah well, money saved I suppose!

    3. Managed to finish the ironing.

    4. Tea of pork and lots of veg with it and tasted very good.

    5. More eggs from my chickens.

    1. Cedric Abellon - you heard him, Vicky:

    2. Excellent freephone service from Truprint re: mugs being sent to NZ.

    3. £80 given from sth done > Children's Society and Mara.

    4. Day 18 for someone whose personal battle is not easy, with request to let our Vicar know....gladly)))))))))))))))).

    5. Most of all [an indicator to &'s petty level of concerns, finally], last week's win of whisky felt offset by simultaneous loss of earring from late beloved. Retraced steps and actions, tooth-combed clothing repeatedly: no joy. I have suddenly found it, embedded in flooring and the lift to my heart is immense. All the more because I've straightened the post 90° and it hasn't broken.

    1) Spent the day at a conference: it was mostly unexciting (except the usual embarrassment when someone you would swear you've never met before enthusiastically greets you by name :o) but at least it was a day out of the office.

    2) A colleague felt unwell and had to leave early, so I used my lunch break to take back the cardigan she left behind, giving me the opportunity for half an hour in a coffee shop with a sandwich, a decent cup of coffee, and a catch-up with the day's headlines.

    3) Popped into the vet's on the way home to get some more of Isis' medication, and did my usual dog magnet act on a miniature dachshund, a beagle, and a gorgeous Staffie.

    4) Isis has been refusing her food for the past couple of days, which worried me a bit. Today I gave in and bought her some of the Whisk@s she loves and I hate (because it stinks :(), and it barely touched the sides!

    5) Christmas quiz tonight, with free mulled wine and mince pies. :xmassmile

    6) Won another competition, for a frog shelter which I wanted for my mum. Shame I went out and ordered one for her yesterday, really, as now I'll have two!
Back after a very long break!

I am afraid BoP was a little, Hic Hic Hic Hic Hic, yesterday.

Ah, ampersand, I remember Cedric now! The Pilou Pilou was fantastic. I took my own video of it and it has been much commented upon on my Facebook page. Very, very much a spine tingling moment.

Christmas party day in school today. My felt reindeer antlers/headband were much commented upon by the children. They're now 3 years old and cost a whole £1 at the time! They'll do for next year too!!! :D

    My pleasures for today:

    1) Basque chicken casserole from the freezer for supper. It was lovely.

    2) Christmas cards for the class written. All my Christmas cards were bought in the sales in January! Really must plan to do that again this coming Jan!

    3) Credit card paid.

    4) Friend who is currently working in Dubai is coming home for Christmas this weekend! It will be fantastic to see her and catch up.

    5) Trying to work out a Mr S order... fingers crossed I get the right things. I do have a £10 voucher and free delivery...
