Afternoon all !
Skintos - poor you hun x Get well now !!
5 for today
1. Made a lemon drizzle cake - bright yellow in colour due to eggs straight from hens hot bott. - 4 steps from nesting box to kitchen . Gotta love zero food milesCake now crumbs...:p
2. Took the hound round the block , saw a friend who lives 10 doors up from me and we haven't had a chat for ages - her daughter (in her 20's) had a stroke in the summer, friend 's job is not so great and she was getting quite emotional talking about it all. Not a pleasure but shows that you never really know whats round the corner ...
3.Borrowed a frugal living book on Prime - it is rather good actually
4. Going to make a home made curry tonight from the base I put together yesterday just need to add chicken , a stock cube , passata and single cream . Making some flat breads too , adapting the recipe that i used last time . Can't wait . Nothing like a fresh curry made from scratch
5.Bright here now - rained a soon as stepped out earlier . But yellow thing is out now
Enjoy the rest of the weekend all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
House Chess
Yeah, we are playing house chess. Mini bedroom done! Dining room now dining and gems room. Front room your next.
So catches ups this week maybe a bit short.
Good work & on the books. Though we need readers, as we have the lowest literacy rate in the developed world. Just like the reader sat Lydia's plaice. Now for codpiece, mushy peas, tatties and salad.0 -
Sparrer: I love the vision of your No 7. And wow it sounds like a lovely large family, hope it was a wonderful get together.
Skint: Hope you are feeling a lot better also very soon
For Sat
1.We haven’t had a chance to put the decorations up yet, my lergy is going it just feels very slowly with help from pills but DH is poorly now, seems a lot is about.
2.Had a bizarre phone call from a previous employer HR picked up my CV, interesting as they didn’t listen to a word I said on the phone which reminded me all about them! Then said I wouldn’t be suitable for this role, the following day they emailed me an interview for next week. I gave it a lot of thought but told them no, I justify it in my mind as I moved on from them for numerous reasons.
3. I want to knit myself a multicolour cardigan, might be a bit ambitious as well I can’t knit yet.
4. Popped to farm shop for a vast sack of spuds off the back of a lorry lol then over to Lidl for some stock for not a lot, fitted a pork joint in, mince pies and thick thermal socks, they had had a serious run on their ink a hol, they were selling something with a pear in which looked nice but had well and truly sold out by the time I made my mind up.
For Sun
1.Rested trying to let the meds do their work.
2. Ordered some Clinique men’s stuff for mini christmas DH present, ok I admit it their free pack that that came with it will be a sneaky self-Christmas present .
3.Took all the clutter off the kitchen window cleaned the clutter and the window, put it all back again. I was given a cactus “thing” a few years ago I don’t like it but I’m not sure what to do with it. I’ve placed it so anyone trying to get in via the kitchen window will get caught. Lol it’s either that or throw it out.
4. Entered a competition0 -
chicken l did laugh at another puppy, I have enough problems with the three monkeys I already have! Yum at lemon drizzle, there wouldn't even be crumbs left if it was on my plate
All the sleepyheads, perhaps it's the dark mornings and evenings trying to convince us it's not time to get up yet, or past our bedtime?
(((Skint))) I do hope you get an appt quickly, and the pain can be stopped soon
& you do enjoy your programmes so I hope you managed to get your new radio
1. Had a wonderful day yesterday, 16 members of the family having our early Christmas meal and causing mayhem in a waterside restaurant - I think the head waiter wished he could throw us out, or in! Lots of presents, mainly for the little ones, lots of ooh's and ah's and the men trying to sneak the boys toys away so they could play. They never grow up.
2. DGD1 gave me a frame with a photograph of DD, DGD1, DGD2 and myself, with a beautifully engraved verse about the strength of the family tree.
3. Bought my two nieces a pannetone each, in a very attractive tin for a very reasonably price. It was 'fun' trying to wrap the drum-shaped containers, and decorate them to look like drums.
4. Not long finished a very long and tedious sewing job I offered to do for a lady who doesn't sew. Pleased that's over!
5. Bedtime, what a pleasure it will be to put my head on the pillow
Hope you're all dreaming sweet dreams0 -
1. Had good time at 60th birthday party and my back not too sore. Food was good and people were easy to talk to and have a laugh with.
2. MIL was reasonable without complaining too much.
3. Good walk in morning.0 -
Hitler has been found alive and well, though she has changed sex! now what did I say about ...
House chess still being played out in full earnest, brushes readied for paint jobs, inside. There is hope!0 -
Thanks for all your get well wishes.

PK hope you and DS are feeling better soon x Think you made the right decision about former employer - sounds like you're better off out of there
Phoned doc this morning at 8am.... in the queue for about 10 mins and heard someone pick up phone and put it down again cutting me off
Had to redial 30 times !!! to get back in the queue and took 30 minutes to get through..... good job its a landline number and included in my minutes on my mobile or would cost a fortune !

1. managed to get an appointment with GP and now on painkillers
