5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Posting has been very erratic lately, seem to be constantly tired and could fall asleep on a washing line. Unfortunately there seems to be so much to do - or fortunately, otherwise I'd be sleeping all day!
1. Speaking of falling asleep, Frankie (tabby/white) has taken to sleeping on a cardboard box under the stairs. I pulled it out yesterday to get the C-word decorations out and an hour later he was curled up asleep among the tinsel and baubles in the box! :rotfl:
2. The second poppy arrived yesterday, an excellent service as they text me to let me know it's on its way and deliver by courier
3. Exchanging lots of funny text messages (included in package so OS) with DGD1, we were both so excited to find out how similar we are, we share so many family traits, habits and silly sayings. It means so much to all the family
4. Postie delivered a small parcel this morning and said 'something smells nice'. I hesitated to tell him it was just some liver with eggs, garlic, olive oil and scraps/peel of veg and fruit for dog biscuits. I have to agree though it does smell good, it must be driving the dog mad knowing he can't have any til this evening
5. nsd/npd not even a dd going out today. I'll just finish doing what I need to and settle down for a wee siesta and not think of all I have to do tomorrow to make up for my idleness today0 -
Be nice, ... &No apologies for ruining bop's day by posting.
Rant Over
5 Double Steel's. Had jumbo 'addock, chips, with Bread and Butter, proper tea. Wolfed down. Then Fresh Cream Trifle. Wolfed down. Plates and dish licked clean. Unfortuately BoPsie was unable to complete a single Steel's. Market plaice in Cleethorpes, as tested by BoP since crawling across Suggitts Lane crossing aged 2 days. So you can be assured that it is good. They also do beans on toast for the veggies.
4 Then in the emporium of RZw8 last eve, we got reduced Cod Cakes, 2 for £6, for £1.09p each, saving £1.98 at the till. Well worth going for! And Livers of Chicken as well, reduced. Now BoP, ready for this ...DigForVictory wrote: »<note to self> sneak invite for Saturday breakfast.
3 Rubs tum. Just had cheese and onion, toe nailed style sandwich, crisps and juice for lunch. Next!
2 Rubs hands and readies for Club of Camera this evening! And just to show, here is where the lane is!
Some distance!
1 I am fond of pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals. wc
Emergency Edit
BoPsie has just be reacquainted with BoPs hairy chest and chin. She proffered some wax treatment at £41, that is £42 more than BoP could consider not spending. There is also eyebrow setting as well.
BoPsie has been removed from her computer and internet access denied.

Good evening everyone :hello:
MIA for a few nights due to that pesky work getting in the way. Anyway, I'm here now. Bet you missed me, didn't you?
My pleasures for the last few days:
1) Made spag bol the other night for supper - and managed to freeze four more portions!
2) Basque chicken casserole (recipe from a Good Food mag years ago!) made this evening - two more portions for the freezer! :j My life doesn't REALLY revolve around food.
3) Latest Take That album turned up EVENTUALLY. Have spent a lot of time in the car driving with a smile on my face!
4) Just about finished all my Christmas shopping!
5) Mortgage statement has arrived. Half depressing and half relief. If we hadn't overpaid by £100 for the past few years, then our new mortgage deal wouldn't have been so good. However, it's still eye-wateringly high (affordable, but depressing that the balance hasn't decreased by much at all).

Evening all
Today could have gone more smoothly. Heigh ho.
Five pleasures for Friday:
1. Our phone is working again.
2. Satsumas.
3. Having an audiobook of Patrick Leigh Fermor's A Time of Gifts on in the background while I was getting on with things this morning.
4. Beautiful almost-full moon in an almost clear sky this evening as I was driving.
5. Am sitting beside a very warm woodstove tonight.
Sweet dreams

Not long in, after -
1. Evening crimbo fair in swank-ish horsey Fenny environs near-ish. 'Twas good, if on costly side, last year. Ce soir ditto, but & judicious. 2 perfect things for peeps, some nummy choc treats ditto and an old gold Parker 61 fountain pen, which & will research after this.
Sod it! moment in shape of a beautiful, naïve painted toleware crimbo-ish angel, [flying to the left, bien sûr:-)] which & knew would be a keeper and tried/failed to avoid buying for self...
2. Great moon again this month, slung large, on the rise, lit-wax glowy as & exited w8rs[having seen the time, post-Bank but pre-event...the early dark still throws me]. Sailing high on way back and Day's New Fact Highlight: free cappuccino sit-down available one hr later of a vendredi...so was in time, just:-), PLUS with a Times abandoned unread in first small trolley. So, Torygraph is today's 2nd freeb.
3. Minimal spits banking, but banking nonetheless this arvo. Long difficult haul yesterday. Back at 0240h = another 25hr day. American owner 'changes' ARE happening, whether or not officially so and one BIIIIG stricture, pinged in late afternoon, under radar, has caused huge ructions/uproar and also affects & within her small-scale detritus pickings. Thank goodness certain items sold during day preceded diktat, which many have declared they'll ignore anyway. It just won't be possible to trade under this latest lunatic ruling. For &, 4 things sold[2 moderate, 2 small] meant £142...can't lose that sort of potential, besides which, clothing rail and targeted buying have already meant outlay. On verra....
Word has it they're trying to drive out socially-housed tenants of long-standing, market traders ditto, to put in short-term, tax avoidance-wise, high-end renters, like Moleskine....kill the market.
4. Necessary slowdown/stop for 2 deer, then 2 more, bounding across stubble expanse, then road, en route today.
5. Revelled in joy of unnecessarily, molto indulgent, long, long, hot, hot shower.

Several old lumps of life, and lumps of old life - Jeremy Thorpe.
I will always remember my elation, widepsread in then North Devonian existence, hearing the 'Not Guilty' verdict, despite what was 'known'. What was known, sans parentheses, was the toxic loathing, with reason, of both Scott and Bessell. Emerged from a lift in Dingles, Plymouth, child in hand, another on hip, to a happily raised chorus of voices. Had earlier in year, on his 1st day bailed[miniscule Moors village school fête opening, long-promised attendance], thanked him for enabling child to be alive, via a ground-breaking , high-calibre staff-attracting ward, in Barnstaple, named for his late 1st wife.
Today's Torygraph obituary is wisely written and without gilding.
Had been thinking of him since meeting Simon Hughes last Sun.

bop - words were response to yours,'Ah, maid me day that.' - gleeful re: ongoing &connectivity woes. Hope Club of Camera descended more kindly with prizes for some of your terrific pics. Still no upload solution from either Canon now, 2yrs old or new one, with/without micromate adaptors. Just haven't time to be fiddling hours on this stuff during shortened daylight hours atm.
All digits x'd for your work quest.

In brief before I fall asleep again!
1. Woke to dripping windows but a quick wipe over with a squeegy and the yellow thing beating down on them and they're all sparkly again
2. Yesterday was spent cleaning, cooking (well no, the oven and sc cooked) am all of a panic as DB phoned to say he, DSis-i-L, 2 nieces and 2 great nieces are visiting on Thursday. I don't have a cleaner and they all live in big, and I mean BIG! houses in Berkshire, but I'm so looking forward to seeing them. I've lived her for 11 years and the nieces have never been here so must make sure it's all shiny and clean. Lucky I like housework
3. Finished putting the deccies up last night, not many as I won't be here but it looks festive for my visitors
4. Quite an improvement in muttley over the past few days, now self-treating him as the vet visits were getting rather expensive. What a worrying time it's been (bleddy animals!) but he's responding to over-the-counter meds and seems a lot brighter. Thank God!
5. Dyed roots last night, chose a slightly darker blonde, not sure if I like it but no doubt it will grow on me. (Why are my puns never as funny as yours?!)
6. meeting with DD, Dson-i-L, 5 grandchildren, two OH's and 3 great grandchildren for lunch near Huntingdon today.
7. Frankie is sitting on the window sill in the sun and saw a neighbour's cat sitting on the outside window sill. They're both boxing the glass trying to get at each other!
Better go and put my face on as my DM used to say, or I'll look like a ghost! Have a lovely sunny day0 -
