Get well soon to all those who are suffering.

    1. Met a friend for coffee and had a long chat.

    2. Put up xmas decorations. I love this time of year.

    3. DS1 and DS2 have sorted out clothes from BIL with no arguments which is a rarity.

    4. Had a chat with a neighbour as we walked our dogs.

    5. Just finished watching strictly.

Good morning and it's Sunday over here and peeing with rain! We are supposed to be going to puppy school in an hour but not sure if we want to stand in rain for an hour on a soggy rugby pitch!

I had a nice day off on Friday and I'm off today too.

We had friends over for dinner last night which was nice but she literally just picked at her food! We all ate with great gusto and enjoyed the food.
There is enough veggies and salad leftover for our dinner tonight.

House nice and tidy ( well the visible rooms ) so don't need to do too much today.

They brought a huuuge cheesecake from a cheesecake shop......except I didn't realise this until they'd gone! It's coffee ( bleurgh) but cheesecake ( yum) so I may have to try a piece later!

I've slept like log through the night, woke up at 7.20am which is a very long lie for me. Yesterday I think the whole of Melbourne was woken to a huge thunderstorm at 5am. Such a noise!

Went to new school on Friday with DD2 for our iPad workshop. Then had to get a couple of subjects changed. We were told at interview that she must study a language however as she hasn't done Italian since year 8 and going into year 10 that's a massive gap of learning. So , we now find out that no, she doesn't have to do a language but obviously subject spaces have to be filled. The school is made up of the old building and new ones. The old building is like something out of Hogwarts! We were in a tiny office in the old building getting thing sorted out with someone who looked a bit like Professor Sprout.

Took her with me for grocery shopping ( why? ) she is expensive! I should learn!

Ordered chicken for dinner through my supplier at work as it's much cheaper.....yeah! But not when instead of the 2kg you order you receive 1.1kg.....this was delivered on Friday ( day off) and they are only open Mon- Friday, so I couldn't do anything yesterday. Most annoyed. So then had to go back to supermarket and pay inflated prices for more chicken.
I was also charged and paid for 2kg chicken!
Anyway on the plus side of my extra expense ....which I used my $60 vouchers for, I got a $10off next spend voucher, so I thought I shall just spend it right now on flowers, so only paid $2 for a bunch of lilies.....and they never took the voucher off my receipt...so don't know if it will be valid for another go !

Right I'd better get up and take dog out and give him his breakfast

    Enjoy your weekend :)

    Evening all :D

Very slow start to today because I woke up feeling yuk with a sore throat. However I did eventually get moving somewhat later than intended.

    Five pleasures for Saturday:

    1. Dropped DS2 off this afternoon at the place he was volunteering at about 15 miles away and chose to drive cross-country to escape all the town-route Christmas shopping jams and queues which meant we had a very nice drive there in the sunshine and I had a very nice drive back a bit later on to the town where we used to live.

    2. Got a cheapish haircut at the drop-in hairdresser there which I'm pleased with. I'm going to see if I can get through next year doing all my haircutting myself (with DSs checking for evenness at the back!). More little bits and pieces of Xmas shopping got done and dusted. I was working from a list so it was efficient. Very welcome W8rz cuppa en route.

    3. Got one of the last slots booked for another wood delivery just before Christmas. Have worked out that the money my parents are giving me as a present will pay for it. I will enjoy the wood burning very much indeed so I think it's a great present.:D

    4. Stunningly beautiful full moon tonight as I was driving home.

    5. Listening to more audiobook. I love being read to.:D

    Sweet dreams.

Cool and damp today which I have found most refreshing :)

    My longish lie in.

Nice chat with friend on phone.

Watched Casualty as it was happening

Nice walk with dog through a local parklands, we drove to next suburb, walked to the next one after that through the parklands and had brunch outside ( as we are dog owners now :)) it was a tad chilly and drizzly!
Then we walked back to car. Dog discovered puddles and lived them , he was filthy when we got home!

    Wee snoozette on office sofa.

Popped into next town , got some photos developed , bought 3x vouchers for kids Christmas and the item DD1 has requested. They are not getting too much this year as they don't really need much, I'd rather they bought what they wanted in the sales and they are all earning their own money!
Gone are the days of mountainous piles under the tree.

Have a lovely Sunday and hope poorly people feel better soon.

Just quickly popping in as I always forget this one. Earlier this year some new people moved into a house a few doors up and it is a pleasure walking/driving past their home as its now a true home which is lived in and seems happy. A single man had lived there before and it always seemed unlived in. I'm posting now as they have christmas lights up now and the house looks amazing.

Time-disciplined ce matin, not only by marge simpson conditioner-ed hair pile-up, but by...

1...bottle of whisky won in y'day's raffle:-). Just found phone doing winky-blinky and rang back to happy news. Have to collect by onze heures. It'll be a race.

    2. ...as also have to head in other direction. Dear little kitchen DAB radio just failed to start yesterday. Fix-it man couldn't. Research suggests this one, well-reviewed on various sites:
    http://www.pure.com/product/one-mi-series-2-vl-61801/
BUT, elusive, for someone who can't be w/o T'Wireless in every room. Finally have one secured at Mr T, where 2 MONS chits for £1.12 and 46p can play their part[why do people throw them away?], with a £3 off £20 spend one, plus CC+pts...that will do nicely and looks like another unplanned give from &>&. Collecting after whisky:-)

    3. Several Church/village fêtes to be around simultaneously, hence impossible, even via &'s multi-broom flights. V. pleased with bags of giant walnuts - small apple size - tended in one of our Churchyards by an NT Head Gardener. They'll be welcomed by several peeps, done up with other Fen goodies and h-m stuff.

    4. 8th and last tray out of oven just after midnight:
    http://www.waitrose.com/home/recipes/recipe_directory/g/gingerbread.html

    - so pleased to use cutters bought on Fri night at other Church[post passim], so have c.120 christmas trees big/small, snowflakes, stockings and babies Jesus[maybe], all with holes pierced for hanging, ready to be decorated this arvo by children[using £land's 2for£1 Jane Asher bits].

    5. Warm &squat. Put heating on yesterday - grateful and glad. Still not good at not self-denying, in some leftover of 'developing character', 'not being spoilt only child', 'doing without'. I suppose this stuff doesn't really end throughout the Life journey we are so privileged to even have to embark upon.

Off I now go for happy round-ups of various....
Safe journeys and warm hearts to all.

    Pleasures for yesterday

    2. texts with niece arranging to meet up for xmas

3 DS brought xmas decs down from loft and we spent the afternoon putting up the tree.... whatever possessed me to buy a snowy tree - white stuff everywhere each year ! DS hoovered

    4. laid on sofa and watched a couple of films recorded from TiVo

    5. ordered takeaway food to be delivered - not totally MSE but did have 20% off and I didn't feel up to cooking. Managed to eat small amount and wasn't ill
