Hope the poorlies get well now, not a good time of year for avoiding germs etc so stay home, drink tea and keep warm
BoP good news, hoping everything goes well for you
DD I love the pram story, some people have the cheek of the devil, don't they?!
1. Up early this morning to answer the phone, only to find I couldn't. Seems the landline is out of order but Mr Virgin tech is coming on Weds to fix it.
2. The first of my poppies arrived this morning, it's just beautiful
3. Printed some free online gift tags onto card, decorated them with little 'diamante' and stars (given to me, so they didn't cost anything) and threaded ribbon cut from the inside of dresses/jumpers through the holes. Very pretty and very OS
4. Sitting in candle light this evening with just a side lamp on to read, and a cup of hot chocolate beside me. All warm and cosy on a dreich evening
5. nsd/npd, would like to think the month will continue like that, but think I'm just kidding myself!
Sweet dreams0 -
Oooft! It's tooooo hot! I'm over summer already ....on day 2! ( wait till you hear me tomorrow though...to be very hot and very humid! )
I've just sat down, tea is on and all is quiet ( for now) all I can hear is the whir of the fan and the birds singing.
Work was okay, was on with boss and main colleague....I just keep smiling!
My 2 favourite boys came and met me at station....dog boy and human boy. Dog's face and reaction when he recognised me was just lovely!
DD1 is on a school book selling mission! All online and a good few picked up already. She has made a profit on a few she picked up in the op shop a couple of months ago with the intent to resell.
Managed to get iTunes vouchers which I need for iPad workshop at DD2's new school for Friday, went into supermarket I use for work this morning and they had 15% off....thank you very much!
My sweet peas have their first flowers! Yey! Quite excited! When I transplanted them from seedling trays to big pots they didn't do very well....( maybe the fact that bad dog kept pinching them had something to do with it?)
OH was at hospital yesterday for a few hours, so I sat and read a magazine I'd taken in and read my iPad and just chilled for about 4 hours which was nice for a change...and there was aircon...bonus!
I put up the Christmas tree yesterday afternoon. I've never ,ever had it up as early however , my days off next few weeks are full so thought I'd just get it over with! It still does not feel right putting up a tree in the heat ( first day of summer yesterday was boiling) son helped ( grudgingly as he hates putting the tree up but does help every year!) and DD 1 flitted in and out of proceedings. I'm aware that they are growing up and won't be at home forever.....must exploit them whilst I can!
Popped over to boss's yesterday afternoon...I do feel caught between a rock and a hard place at times!
OH made a huuuge pot of spag Bol yesterday with lots leftover...You'd think he invented freezing leftovers!
DD2 has finished with school.....I wrote a stonker of an email today to them....she was in an exam yesterday when someone behind her spoke. She was sent out and apparently her paper was ripped up! She has never been in bother before and I am very concerned about the total unprofessionalism of a teacher to rip up her paper in front of the class. Apparently 4 others were sent out for sticking up for DD after she'd been sent out. Their parents have either been in school / on phone to complain.
DD phoned me whilst I was at hospital with OH and said school would call me which they never. Apparently if your child is sent to the silent room the parent is informed, I wasn't. I just feel it's a very sour note to end on . Anyway, she is moving onwards and upwards. Orientation tomorrow !
I've made a frittata tonight using up pumpkin , Brie , onion and cherry tomato, with rtc eggs and the last of the cream. Served with potato wedges. Hope it's nice!
Simple pleasures...getting out my Christmas tea towels, and crockery! And finding a bag of things I bought at airport on way home in New Year....I was like ....I knew I'd bought these! I also brought loo roll back with me but will keep that for nearer the time
Right dinners almost ready so had better go and deal with it.
Have a lovely Tuesday0 -
2. The first of my poppies arrived this morning, it's just beautiful
Ooh can i be hopeful that MiL's will arrive on time then? Not bothered about my own, but one turning up would be great, then i can really sort her pressie. She didn't get to see them in the end, so I think will appreciate one of her own.

My "cherub" has been proving tricky in school today, calling me a "wriggly maggot" (along with many other things, unpostable here). "What's a maggot?" piped up another child. Duly explained and then confirmed that I'm not a maggot.
