goin to catch up on some tv:D0 -
Good evening everyone :hello:
A VERY quick list of pleasures:
1) School fete today. I was lifeguarding... No one was hurt, thank goodness!
2) HM tomato soup for lunch (also home grown tomatoes!) from the freezer.
3) Yellow sticker Mr T's Finest chicken kievs for supper.
4) DH managed to purchase sausages from the farmers' market. They're delicious, but all go into the freezer so they're eeked out over the weeks.
5) Giving the Cath Kidston freebie from today's Telegraph to someone in my town I "met" on Twitter. We're going out for a pizza later in the week to chat & catch up. We have met on a few occasions now. Just nice to meet people I don't work with!

Just in.
1. 24-18. & the sole AB there today - made up for lack of autres with Most Enthusiastic Encouragement Vocals and Exhortations. Tolerated well :-) Enjoyably met with last week's albions. Scotland played well and passionately as a developing cohesive unit. AB's b-string played often like a scratch team, which they were in many ways, less knowing of each other on field of play at this level. But we made it - a upane! ka upane!
2. England's match - brave and good, but lost. & still kept a weather eye on Brian Habana and Bakkies Botha, with Toulon matches in mind...
3. 1p reverbe on penultimate P&R bus, small undeserved sop to &'s forced decision to use it and pay for parking, which principled refusal couldn't work ce soir. So much for that & - cavilling cave-in.
4. It's still mild in town, though colder and very foggy out here. Book, hwb, crochet, a little something, will be very nice after this - as tennis hots up between Rog and Stan. Crowd certainly don't want it to finish.
5. The fountain pen ink held for & was a peculiar colour, but spotted a last bottle of Diamine Maroon which looks perfect.

chicken - I'm intrigued as to how you can successfully cook pastry and innards in a slow cooker:
Please explain as this sounds useful.

I will post-script this one apart. En route earlier, it felt right and good to leave thanks on prayer board in Church re: the slightly and slowly recovering situations of 2 persons previously mentioned.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Evening all
Yet another home-based day.
Five pleasures for Saturday:
1. Two good phone calls with my dad. He was sounding very cheery.
2. DS2 did all the washing up (with no leftover bits and pieces) and didn't grumble at all:T
3. More phone calls with DS1.Looking forward to his return.
4. Sent a hug by text to a friend who was having an unexpectedly stressful sounding weekend and she sent a really sweet thank you back. It was such a tiny little moment but full of warmth.
5. Doing really well at meal-planning for eating up the freezer's contents. I want to defrost it by the end of the month then restock for the winter. I think we are going to be having quite a few meals with chips! Oh well.
Off to curl up with 'Lewis' on itvplayer in front of the fire.
Sweet dreams

I'm afraid I am another didn't see the CIN, also not a fan, but also heard they raised approx 32M.
1. Lots of birds around on the feeders again
2. So much left over roast from yesterday, it will probably do the whole weekend, lunch pork and pickle roll and dinner bubble and squeak with warm pork and gravy.
3. Freezer outs today are 3 cakes, 4 rolls and bacon for tomorrow morning.:o
4. Playing with the animals, I was lost in sad thoughts unloading the dishwasher and just at that point the animals came over.:)
5. Watching Mr Benedict as Sherlock, DH daren’t interrupt..:rotfl:0 -
Another non-fan of CiN TV here but did donate via work collections
One lady is having her head shaved
PK :rotfl: lol re Mr Wetpatch.... sorry I just find him a bit drippy - I must not be enough of a thinking woman to have him as my crumpet
Pleasures for yesterday
1. the rain stopped and we had lovely sunshine mid morning so hung out towels on line to dry. I do think it makes the washing smell fresher if its been out on the line even if only for an hour, but mostly dried out there today.
2. went for a walk round the village and local pond - lovely and warm in sheltered spots
3. popped in to see a friend for cuppa and chat. Had a good catch up as haven't seen her for a while
4. long chat to dad on phone
5. DS has gone to stay with gf overnight so am enjoying the peace and quiet

1. Yesterday went to the rugby - England and atmosphere was great in the 2nd half.
2. Took sandwiches with us so didn't spend any money there.
3. DS1 took 8 cups back to bar for refund of £1 each.
4. Found £10 on floor.
5. Train free for us all.0 -
Morning all
Another who didn't watch CiN - but i have to donate on behalf of my SiL who lent us money last week for our bus fare, and so i have to donate for us too I guess.
Chicken - hope it says "yum" remember - it's the law
Another here who is trying to empty freezer - not very successfully
Pleasures for last 2 days
1. Teaching was OK on Friday - given how knackered i was. Kind of "got through it" as best i could
2. Couldn't do my 5:2 - too tired, but did eat fairly clean
3. OH and DS went away for the night, did the Alidi shopping. The impact of DD leaving is starting to be felt now and the bills are coming in lower
4. Bacon and egg (Begg) for tea
5. First hot water bottle of the season.
And yesterday
1. Train to dads. Journey's were OK although had to come back via Derby so was 20 mins behind schedule. Not too bad when you cover nearly 400 miles in one day
2. Dad was good. Bonus is that my lovely sister turned up. She is lovely but needs a good shake to come to her senses.
3. Delicious effandc for lunch. Not a fan usually but these were lovely
4. Good walks to and from stations and along the sea front (I always have to go and see the sea - especially as i pretty much live as far away from it as it's possible to be in England)
5. Didn't buy a cashmere cardi from tosspots - even though it had 25% off, bought a similar looking one for £10 (onstead of the £40 cashmere one - if it had been something more exciting than black it may have been a different story)
6. found out that my urgent and overdue marking has been done by a colleague - am enormously grateful
have a lovely day all - I am working, but am hopefully going to see Mr Wetpatch / cucumberpatch / sex god (delete as applicable) tonight.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Good afternoon all !
ampersand- its just the innards in the slow cooker and the pastry cut into discs and put in oven, and put on top when served.
PK and VJsmum- will we ever reach the bottom of our freezers !!!:rotfl:OH keeps "filling" it up with yellow stickered Xmas nibbles , so can't complain really!
Villagelife - well done on reverbing the £10 !
5 for today
1.Slept inas did the dog
:D
2.OH took the hound up on the Downs and bathed him in "ElloVera" :rotfl:dog shampoo as returned covered in mud.Put one of Sparrers Battersea Dogs Home knitted coats on him to stop him getting a chill -coat made (badly) by me last year and it totally swamped the tiny terrier but , luckily fits mine.
3. Hound pinched my DMums ball of wool that she was knitting with ....twice:o
4.Mechanic friend of my DBrother's said he would fix the bits that need attention on my car
5.Contemplating if I should watch War Horse or not tonight ..
have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Another who enjoys missing CiN, it's all in a good cause but I like to choose who I donate to without feeling pressured.
Chicken I'd forgotten the Battersea coats, pleased your muttley is so well dressed. My late Dad's mother was Vera, had to smile as I always think of her when I see 'Allo Vera. Said in finest Cockney accent, of course
Busy weekend so a 2 in 1 post
1. It was dry enough to hang the laundry out for a few hours yesterday, just finished off in the house, smelled lovely
2. Swept the leaves again, always looks good when done and is another lovely autumn smell.
3. Weeded between me and DNeighbours house, we have a 'chicken wire' fence which constantly gets overgrown with ivy. She usually does it as I'm allergic so it has to be kept down, but thought it was about time I took my turn. Approached it covered in long-sleeved jacket and heavy duty gardening gloves. Looks much tidier now.
4. Friends in for tea in the afternoon, then out to meet others where we had a snack before going on to an evening of poetry, prose and song.
5. Later went to a restaurant for dinner with guitar playing and more songs.
6. Drove home at midnight in thick fog, a strange feeling but gave me time to reflect on how fortunate I am to enjoy days like yesterday.
7. Breakfast this morning of soft boiled egg and soldiers. Delicious.
8. Called into Ms S, emptied my penny box into the cash machine and came away with £84.78p. Started the shopping for a dinner I'm giving in a couple of weeks time, got 4 bogofs.
9. Met friends for lunch at a mill, watched swans and ducks by the weir and black squirrels in the trees.
10. The mutt is puttering gently beside me, both mogs purring in their sleep on the other sofa. All is well
Shortbread in the oven, I'll have a piece with a cup of EG while watching War Horse. Enjoy the rest of the evening0
