Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    1) Disturbed Isis when I got up to use the loo in the early hours of the morning and she spent the rest of the night asleep on my feet. You can't beat a feline HWB!

    2) Booked the train tickets up to Birmingham, and got advance fares so saved a few quid.

    3) Finally got round to taking the money I owed to the pet sitter, only a few weeks late. :o

    4) Turned some LO beef stew into a pie for dinner. (Yes, it says 'yum' on it, don't worry. Well, sort of. You can see what it says if you squint hard enough! ;))

    5) Received the latest book in a series I love, although I'm saving it for the weekend so I don't have to stop when I start reading.
Back after a very long break!

    1. Planted trees and currant bushes yesterday - it was rewarding planting something rather than clearing up and DH finished the fence.

2, Reading my kindle listening to music yesterday evening very peaceful.

    3. Day at work was ok - I drove a collegue which helped her out.

    4. Cleaned the carpets - house feels cold so about to have some soup.

    5. Had a text from a friend wishing DS2 a happy 21st.

    6. Chat with DS2 he seemed very happy getting ready to meet his friends.
  • While its great bob Geldof can raise funds, am I the only one who thinks he’s un-inspiring for not doing something-anything-new.
    1. I think today is one of those weird fate days, I overslept to the point I missed the last feasible trains and the only option left was to work at home which was fine and got it all done, can’t shake this lergy so helpful in all sorts of ways:o
    2. Being home meant I could take a call about a wonderful sounding little job in the new year, so I’ve applied should find out more at the end of next week.
    3. It also meant I was all done by 3pm so could fit in a couple of hours study.:o
    4. Made a last of the pork curry and rtc side order from fridge before it’s use by date, yellow turmeric filled meal
    5. Did a top up shop, as no proper shop this week until a shelf is clear in the freezer:rotfl: so just got milk, bread and some 20p work sarnies, and had a nice chat with a chap there.:D

    Just in -

    1. ...having offloaded ginormous cubby sized wet-strength cardboard packing case, folded down, so neatly sized into &'s estate by emporium mgr. The new £25k coffee machine has arrived[false start, wrong plumbing, missing bits last week]. In addition, the sparkly white dense packaging and buffers are perfect for kiddie crimbo crafts/projects...all as excitedly bubbling up from M-J when & stopped en route back. All just perfick.

    2. More excellent £land Jane Asher bits - ceramic oven bakeware, oven gloves, tea-towels[100% cotton], cake book, and even more 2for£ edible dec.s.
To which add Tin-tin and Cap'n Haddock Ty Beanies - more parfaits for certain small nonUK persons...

    3. But don't add this....
& thought 'that'll do for silly summer enzed post-lunch chortles come crimbo dins outdoors.' Title: 'Ladies' Guide to Lover Scores'
    Opened at page whatever...wha????
    Closed book.
Looked again: 'Ladies' Guide to Lower Scores'.....hence golf pics and b/w illustrations...
    Oh &, impure of heart:-)

    4. It's been nearly all day on investigation/reconciliation/figure stuff & does. Tiresome, but done and promising outcomes, better than thought. Should see all go through confirmed in 48hrs.

    5. Parcel for France la belle came in @ £12.40 - could have been worse. It will almost be there for Le Petit Prince, trois ans mercredi[plus Advent calendars for LPP and petite soeur]

    0. This was compelling, another sit-in-car delay outside w8r0s.
Wonderful regional accent, male voice, working through articulate passion for American artist, Winslow Homer, in turn gripping &, for whom Homer was 1st artistic passion, early 60's. His seas!...Books, library images, all were sought, mined, for several years.
Prog today was captivating, whether or not you've heard of him. Anyone who is caught by Marine Art, seas, coasts, salt air, sail generally, try:

-during which, & also thought 'Satie'...another early+still enduring. Some parallels.
    #
    isihac catch-up anticipation....
    Bonne nuit.

    p.s. >Raffles.
Mrs Fluffy was also a riverbank accompanist [25 years ago?...really? impossible!]
& would try to sneak off+bike to train and Uni ....2 miles >station, 2 miles back. Infuriating, but it always felt necessary to somehow entice her back - too much Fenny traffic and one big racing bend. &'s big ginger, 'Tom', met his end thus...

    Evening everyone :hello:

Busy couple of days here, but when aren't they?!

    My pleasures:

    1) Went to see my "boys" yesterday and they drew. No mean feat at the mo!

    2) Visited the local cinema last night with friends. One of those when films arrive at least 4 weeks after they've been on at the mainstream cinemas, but far less £££ required.

    3) HM soup for lunch today, taken in flasks. Mine is a fetching bright pink one!

    4) Sausages for supper. Mmmmm, yum! We have a fantastic local pork butcher.

    5) Written an article for the local newspaper about the opening of our newly refurbished pool in my school. Just need the headteacher to approve it....

Right, onwards to watch I'm a Celebrity. Love this programme - very few brain cells required, which is exactly what I need after a full on day at work!

    Evening all :D

    Five pleasures for Monday:

    1. All the bedrooms seem to be fine at 17-18 degrees atm with the woodstove lit in the evening. Everyone happy with that. :)

    2. DS1 has been doing a big sort out of the club sports kit and put most of it away. Feels like we have some semblance of order again - it had got a bit out of control.

    3. Stopped off on my way back from getting milk at the very old church just round the corner from our house to have a look - been meaning to do it ever since we moved in! It has a really beautiful door inside that leads to the grounds at the back. Nice find.

    4. Sad-veg-plus-trimmings-from-tonight's-supper-plus-lentils soup already made for tomorrow's lunch. Tastes fantastic.

    5. Experiment in making microwave popcorn seems to be working-ish. DS1 is having a second attempt as I type. :D

    Sweet dreams

Shall try and write my tuppence worth today, big post last night disappeared!

It's Tuesday afternoon, just in from work. I've had a lovely morning at work, I've made so many nice things , had a good chat with boss who is back working with us for the moment. Given a hug by a lovely customer who is going overseas for 2 months and just generally had a good day!

DD2 has got in to new school, she cried with joy and relief.....I almost cried at the deposit, the annual fees and then the uniform costs. However. As I posted last night. The only other way to get her into a new school was to move house ( and no guarantee of spaces) which would also cost money and we are all happy with where we are for now. Handy for train for me, for big two for university , quiet town but near enough bigger ones, 15 minute drive and into countryside , so we like where we live, I like my creaky , old , draughty, character filled house and whilst we could probably get a more modern house, again, we are happy where we are.
So we shall suck it up, scrimp and save on some things , still enjoy coffees and cake out and find the money from somewhere!

I've worked past 5 days and only 2 more to go until a day off! I've been trying to make / bake for DDs party this weekend but I'm the worlds biggest procrastinator and snoozer! 'Twill be all right on the night, I'm sure!

I'm sitting in the garden at my garden table and enjoying the peace and quiet and bird song, butterflies and dragonflies, the chirrup of a cicada in the rose bushes. The dog is pottering about in the bushes , no doubt eating leaves and sticks! The sun is warm on my arms, a gentle heat not too hot ( that's for tomorrow ) I'm feeling very content, work has settled. New staff to be trained in kitchen ways, ( my ways) , uni girls are once again hungry for shifts now uni is finished . My big two have finished with exams for another while at least and DD2 will be fine....one day! OH will be home from work early as he has a medical appointment ( If we could just get him sorted out life would be almost perfect )

Bought a new to me dress for $5 in Red Cross op shop, a turquoise-y paisley pattern with thick shoulder straps. When you're more than amply endowed , silly string straps ain't much use ! We have a night out next weekend so it should be perfect!

Right shall chance my luck at posting this, do have a lovely day :)

Dundee Doll where in the world are you! I hope all is well in Tayside.
