Blimus - its a good place to return to as there is help, advice and support for ypu.
1. Met a friend at a garden centre and she treated me to a coffee
2. Saw some fushias on special offer and bought 18 for £3 only fairly small but all look healthy - originally £7.99 for 6.
3. Lunch couscous and LO onion and courgette mix with garlic I had cooked on Friday evening.
4. Cleared part of my garden and uncovered most of a lovely stone wall.
5. Laundry basket empty even if only briefly.0 -
Stay right on until the end of the road
5 Supper 5 S Sunday. Sit down, Shave, Shower, Splash On and Snorkers! Morning all!
4 Watched two Saint films last eve. Thought he was not going to solve the case, but with film full of wrong uns, they was really only one outcome.
3 Was good yesterday watching the overheated holiday goings stuck on the car park near Thornbury.
2 Now, BoPsie went off yesterday, and I mean off. She got the ice cream, flakes and cornets. Home made 99's again. and that is Money Saving toooo.

Evening all, third day off and very pleasant it was too.
Longish lie ( for me)
Caught up on some housework and felt better once it was done.
Out for morning coffee and out for afternoon coffee. Eating out is very 'big' in Australia , particularly in Melbourne , there is very much a culture of going out to eat. I economise through the week so OH and I can enjoy our breakfast/ brunch/ lunch out.
Sorted out my holiday photos into an album and frames.
Phoned my sister, lovely to chat with her.
Made a lamb, pumpkin and chickpea curry for dinner and it was lovely.
Penultimate episode of masterchef tonight.0 -
Welcome back Blimus good to see you again.
Congratulations on your aunty news Frith.
Just a quickie to say how much I enjoy your posts which I still read even though I've not been here as much lately. Sadly my lovely Mum passed away on Thursday, it was, as you know, expected and a blessed release for her but doesn't make it easier for us. No matter how old people are when they go it's still painful.
We've started to clear her home and it's reminding me so much of mcculloch's signature -
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
So many beautiful things in cupboards which could have given pleasure every day. I vow to use the best of everything from now on - not that I have anything of monetary value but definitely sentimental, so no more hiding things away 'for visitors'.
Have a happy rest of the day, don't forget to tell the people in your life that you love them. And as you're all part of my life, I love you toox

sparrer - I'm so sorry to hear about your mum - huge hugs to you.
1) NSD and NPD.
2) Wrote my complaint to the OU: I just need to give it a final read-through tomorrow morning then send it on its way.
3) Had a good pruning session - spirea and fuschias are now much reduced in size.
4) Feeling chilly enough this evening that I went and put on a pair of long trousers - I prefer warm to cold, but at the same time it's nice to be slightly cooler after so many days of heat.
5) Watching the Commonwealth Games: something else I like about them is the way para sports and non-para sports are all mixed in together, rather than being separate competitions as they are at the Olympics. :TBack after a very long break!0 -
sparrer - I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. As you say, it doesn't matter what age they are, it's no less upsetting. I agree about not keeping things for "best" - I use many of my grandparents things which they had kept for best. Take care. x
I do have some pleasures for the last couple of days. I worked yesterday, earning 11 hrs worth of overtime. It's quite "full on" and I spend most of the day on my feet, but in between times we chat about eating!
1) Came home and saw DH. He's fab and doesn't mind me disappearing for 5 weeks back to my parents' house! He calls it time off. :rotfl:
2) Used up a few courgettes this morning in another batch of tomato and courgette stew from the BBC Good Food website. 6 portions put into the freezer!
3) Squidgy bananas turned into banana loaves this afternoon. Just call me Nigella/Mary.
4) Started to read a book I've had on my Kindle for aaaaaaaaaaaaages. Just never got round to reading it.
5) Went to Mr T's to top up DH's supplies for the week. He's also allowed to have one of the banana loaves I've made. Generous to a fault, me!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0
