Evening all. It's been a bright but very breezy day here. But nice to see the blue sky and sunshine....all be it through the window at work.

    Slept all night!

My favourite 2 are in the masterchef final so I don't mind who wins( looking forward to getting a life back again after weeks of watching it!)

Workety work was very busy. Boss has been very grumpy over weekend apparently .....I'm hoping that I don't get like that!

Just missed a train but only had 6 minutes until the next one and had a lovely chat with lady from one along shop.

Spag Bol for tea , courtesy of the freezer in the garage. I don't really like going in the garage as spiders live there ( as in lots of!) but I had filled the freezer up before I went to UK, so had a look yesterday and found spag bols and thought that will do for tea!

Daylight stretching out another few minutes, meaning I'm home in daylight, which is nice and I discovered snowdrops in the front garden.....spring is just around the corner.

    Have a lovely day x
    Hugs for sparrer
frith enjoy your week and get ticking off that list:)
    kittikins your holiday sounded lovely.
caterina glad your building work is coming along....keep telling yourself it will be worth it in the end!
  • So sorry to hear about your mum Sparrer- sending hugs and best wishes to you.

Here are my 5 from yesterday:
    1. DS1 working for the first time on his own in the shop. Relieved that he had a good day and there were lots of sales.
    2. DS2 and I made a small mammal run to see if we had any visitors in the night in the garden. No mammals but it looks like a slug wandered through the run!
    3. A trip to one of my most favourite areas in North Norfolk - the Glaven Valley. Had a free sample of fancy aeropress Sumatran coffee from the Grey Seal Roastery. Very nice but very strong! I was a bit wired for a while!!
    4. Testing out binoculars at Cley Spy in their mini nature reserve at the back of their shop.
    5. A 'use-up' tea of salami and mozarella panninis and chips.

    Happy Monday everyone :j

5 I know, and I has mentioned this before, but surely yet again at the emporium, a weeks shopping comes in at £22.70. Now we even wasted some money as well! I mean, BoPsie go Strawbs, Sour Grapes, Fishcakes and Juice. That wasted a total of £7.80 pence. No Shull Bit in the shopping and gluten free.

4 And with the lottery ticket from Sat Night, we got a Dog Roll to go with it, as I said yesterday, all part of the super Sunday. Sit, Shave, Shower, Splash and Snorkers.

3 Now I do not know whether to get too excited the mo, as I has an interview next week.

2 last night was the film Black Arrow, a Mr Stephenson classic. Loads of rougue wrong un throughout, but the goodie won in the end. Darn, given the story away now.

    1 What a give away

    1) Wore a new, bright yellow top to work, which cheered me up all day despite doubtful comments from colleagues as it's so bright it's almost fluorescent!

    2) Went to visit a colleague to help her out with a technical problem with a piece of software and finally made it back to the office an hour later - 5 mins to fix the problem, then 55 mins having a guided tour of her office building (a very nice, very historic one) and chatting with the various people encountered en route!

    3) Received the beauty goody bag I won in a competition and wow it's good - several hundred pounds' worth of stuff there, I think!

    4) Finally got around to making the bread pudding I was intending to make over the weekend - it had to be postponed as I forgot to buy sugar. And raisins. And mixed spice. :o

    5) Gymnastics to watch in a few minutes' time. :j
Back after a very long break!

    Bicycles
    Vintgar gorge
    Sunshine
Opening the wine bottle with no cork screw - used a knife to push cork in
Bled cream slice (I know, I am eschewing - but it was bloody delish and I burnt all the excess off)
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Good evening,

Mhagster thanks for the encouragement! I try to tell myself that the wait and inconvenience are worth the result but am also unnerved that I shall have this brand new fantastic kitchen in a house that's pretty much derelict for the rest, and we will have to do so much more! One day still a time is the way to go...

    Me today:

    1. Good hard workout at the gym. Learning the machines with an instructor so I can do more gym in the winter when outdoor workouts get a bit too brrrrr!

    2. Nice relaxed lunch in the garden with my Italian builder, chatting and laughing. He is really good company, very pleasant to have around, and works to incredibly high standards, at a reasonable rate. What's not to like?

    3. A lovely older neighbour has invited me together with another (younger) neighbour for a cup of tea with her on Wednesday. The younger lady has recently sadly lost her husband and it will be good for her to meet other people in the neighbourhood. I look forward to it. Tomorrow I shall buy something nice to bring along.

    4. Washed all the dishes (these days I have to do it in the bathroom so I only do it when I have a whole big batch), and also cleaned the bathroom.

    5. As DH did not go to bootcamp (had to keep decorating the kitchen) I got paid for the babysitting instead of swapping for his class.

    Good night.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Busy today!

    1) A lie in after being kept awake by next door's yappy dogs for hours.

    2) Lots of texts from sons.

    3) Sons' bedroom now immaculate! Even the curtains are in the washing machine.

    4) Also cleared out under the stairs.

    5) Put lots of Playmobile on Ebay.

    6) Changed electricity supplier.

    7) Bought car insurance through Quidco so shall look forward to that cashback.

    8) Been watching re-runs of DIY SOS.

    9) Lost another 2lbs so now under 12 stones.

    10) Looking forward to I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue later. What happened to the News Quiz last Friday??

    11) Read a recipe on another thread for courgette chocolate brownies and (as I have 3 massive courgettes in the fridge) might make some just now.

A positive start to the week and my old mojo found. Everything feels do-able again :)

DD made a lovely veg and bean soup

Had my car washed for only £5 at work which saved the 12 mile round trip and the usual wait. Nice to have a clean car.

All financials for August accounted for (just)! And a plan for the end of my FT contract is forming ;)

    Beautiful sunny weather

Only had one hot spell at work yesterday - is it the lack of stress - or is that decreasing the stress? Who knows, who cares :rotfl::rotfl:
