Train! Just made it!
Haircut! Choppy bob ....again.
Chewy toffees! Going sugar free in August , so chewed whilst I still could

My five from yesterday:
1. Mother and son art lesson
2. Lunch and a chat at a friends house.
3. Two of our Insect Lore butterflies hatched out of their chrysalids.
4. Took DS1 and DH to boxing club and DS2 and I hung out together waiting for them to finish.
5. A nocturnal visit from a ginormous Poplar hawk moth. Landed on my pillow and it's thrumming wings sounded like a mouse riding a tiny horse over my pillow. Made me jump but then when I saw what it was I was delighted!DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt
August GC £0/£3000 -
1. Small but lovely OS meet, only 3 of us but great fun all the same
2. Discovered Dunelm has just the perfect pair of curtains for my bed.
3. Got my laundry area sink and tap
4. Managed to get the requested items for both my friends in ikea
5. DH came back home unexpectedly hungry, the person who was bringing food to his work picnic had not turned up. So in 10 minutes I knocked together a chickpea, lettuce, onion and tomato salad, fried slices of sweet potato and an egg each. Nice quick tasty meal. He was impressed and has gone to his martial arts class nicely well fed! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
CCP I was just browsing around this morning before getting up, saw your post and now have a massive craving for your lovely sounding bread pudding! :rotfl:
I don't want to sound smug but it is good - I wasn't sure how well it would work with seedy bread but it's great, and I think I'll always make it this way now.
1) Wore a new skirt to work - a long, double-layered gypsy style skirt which made me feel like I should have a rose behind one ear and be playing the castanets!
2) Went to another counselling / CBT-type event this evening - it wasn't particularly good and I'm not sure if I'll keep on with the rest of the sessions, but I met some nice people.
3) Easy dinner when I got home late - a slice of last night's sausage plait with baked beans.
4) Not going out this evening, so I can sit and watch the athletics instead.
5) And watch Isis as well, who is back in whirlwind mode now the weather's cooled down a bit.Back after a very long break!0 -
1. Sunshine!
2. Went to my new classroom and spent most of the day chatting, planning and trying to work out what I have in there, I've been left a lot of stuff, some useful, some probably not!
3. Spoke to my daddykins on the phone, can't wait for DD to return tomorrow afternoon
4. Not quite carb-free, but mainly healthy and yummy food eaten today, breaking myself back in gently
5. I've managed to sort out some of the gubbins I needed to get done before DD returns. Want to have some mummy/daughter fun time again0 -
Pleasures for today:
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Lunch at mum and dad's.
3) Took my brother to a tree-lopping job and it turned out the owner was someone I worked with years ago! So I stopped there while brother was working and had a cup of tea. :-)
4) Popped round the charity shops.
5) Spent HOURS doing the garden. Borrowed next door's pressure washer and did all the patio and path (this took 2 hours.....) Probably did another 2 hours of digging and tidying.
6) Still defrosting and cleaning the fridge freezer...
7) My sister and brother in law have been stuck on the coast for 36 hours more than they intended! Sister's car has been "resting" in Haverfordwest but they managed to get their recovery company to drive them and the car home this evening. They're probably still on their way.0 -
Morning Lovely OS'ers
Wrote my 5 for yesterday in a wonderfully witty post and it disappeared when I tidied it up. So edited version for yesterday!
1. Nearly finished cutting down the bay tree. We can see the bottom of the garden now. (Good exercise for the 'Bingo wings').
2. Used some £5 off £10 meat coupons in Morrisons. So freezer stocked up.
3. Steak for tea. Boys couldn't believe their luck!
4. Met lovely friend I haven't seen for years in the supermarket. Hope to meet for a catch up. (I miss my friends from when I was a SAHM).
5. DS2 went to dance class and everyone made a big fuss of him. He has lost his confidence since breaking his foot. (playing football). Seems worried about being bullied at school for doing a Girls activity. Wonderful dance coach has promised to have a word with him.
Its beautiful outside already. Think I will get another cup of tea and go down to talk to the hens for a bit!0 -
My five for yesterday
1. Seeing pheasants wandering about - not seen them for a while.
2. Work ok had a long chat with a collegue.
3. Took lunch into work - left over lasagna.
4. NSD
5. Cleared some more of the garden - fairly cool in the garden.0
