    Lovely fireplace frith
Am also listening to beethoven's 6th marmite as some muppet at the beeb put totally the wrong thing up for newsquiz.
    1) once again resisted friday fish and chips with hm pasta salad (ham today)
    2) threw out 18 plantpots. Put them into the recycle. That plus a magazine and giving a read book to a friend means i have got shot of 20 items since i joined the 2014 challenge. Only another 1994 to go ;-)
    3) checked i can get ecds (east caribbean dollars) at m&s. I was one of those wasteful bods who got money changed at the airport.
    4) another gloriously sunny day - treated myself to a yummy icecream from the hospital concourse - half the price of the fish and chips i resisted
    5) still smiling at the giant tunnocks teacakes and scottie dogs from the CW opening ceremony

I'm fine, just been busy with work and er, the Commonwealth Games on TV. Congrats Mhags and happy holidays those doing that, will put together my pleasures soon.

Easy on that leadpaint now, headboreds used to be made of it! Mind, the Cots! New jobs all round. Beethoven. Nah, Wagner, Ride of the Valkyrie (Don't eat Red Cheese!) Waits for a DfV summary. Iron, good for you and yous blood. Come on, what about a Mystery Tour? Spain, Austria. Just love the upturned bed! And juts noted, one of the bits I is designing is a CCP! Enough Jobs for now!

5 Yous nose, Saturday and that means Snorkers, Bacon, Eggs, air burst again this week, mushrooms and Toms, tinned toms. Washed down with emergency tea, the milk was off so used powdered. And finished off with Jam, well berried variety, on crumpet. Nice buttered crumpets

4 Guess what. Had cv sucked up t'other day by local company. Sent off and yous nose, not one to boost about. Interview on 5th August. See. Gratitude

3 Got a BoPsie compliment as well this week, Said she wanted proppppper man. And she got me! Tis easily toickled my BoPsie!

2 Disasater this morning as I has had double ball snap. Nows yous BoPettes does not get a double ball snap, as in essence, your bikes has no crossbar. Well. I has had a ball snap and boy did it make me eyes water. But I is alright nows.

1 When all around lose theirs, step back and ...

Now, off to wave at the frustrated holiday makers at Aldmondsbury, twice! Must be annoying to see our truck wave at them between Bristol M5 J15 to J14, twice, while they sit in the holiday jam. Delays are of 50 mins at present. Guess what, here we go!!!!!!

Brrrr again! But heating is now on, drying the washing and keeping us cosy inside. Watching Oz v England playing netball....I have not watched a netball match in about 33 years since first year at school!

Well, a pleasant enough day off, sour dough toast and peanut butter at usual cafe and mooch through the papers and a blether with OH.

Then we did our grocery shop, for some reason we didn't do one last week but managed to eat out cupboards and freezer through the week. Received a $10 off next weeks shop voucher!

Got my holiday photos developed....well 60/640 of them!
( had a little tear run down my face as I looked through them :()
Whilst happy to be back here I do miss my friends and especially my little great niece.

Afternoon stroll up to pharmacy and coffee shop....where I had a tear looking at my photos. One of the girls there said " are you DD1's mum?" As she recognised DD2 in the photos.
Another girl said " ooh I like your top!" ... "Salvos "said I!

    Saturday snooze!

    Have a good day :)
  • Well it's been a while since I was last on this thread (2011) and I'm sad to admit that I'm only back on the forum after finding out yesterday that we're facing a £400 drop in income per month :( But this was the first thread I headed too and it's fantastic to see it's still alive and kicking and also fantastic to see lots of names I still remember like Thrift, Caterina and others :)
So while I'm a bit freaked out with the loss of income, this is my first port of call to remember that there are so many things to give thanks for too :)
    Here are yesterday's:
    1) A pre-shock pre-planned trip to the local zoo.
    2) Being asked what my name was by a lovely little parrot. I thought I was hearing things!!
    3) Youngest DS (10) sitting on the floor outside the parrot enclosure having a long chat with the parrots.
    4) Feeling grateful that, despite all, I still have my lovely family together happy and healthy.
    5) Homemade chicken curry for tea.
DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt
    August GC £0/£300

  • Yeah, we're back. And more Jam than I can say we has the hot buttered crumpets for. Lovely. Pity no overturned caravans, though I hear one has been removed from the pool in Newport.

PM to KK, if you take your car across water into Wales, normally there is no queue on the old bridge, M48. BoP does not queue as he has Tag thingy that raising the barrier!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Evening all - and yes, don't worry, it's still me, I've just changed my avatar in honour of this crowd-sourcing campaign (and that's the first and last time I'll mention it, promise!).

    1) Took advantage of the continued warm weather to give the kitchen floor a much-needed wash (even more needed after I dropped an egg while putting the shopping away yesterday ).

    2) Watching the Commonwealth Games. One of the great pleasures of multi-sport events like this is the way you end up watching sports you wouldn't usually give any time to - I was watching the rhythmic gymnastics earlier and was surprised how much I enjoyed it.

    3) Won a mini quiche in an instant win competition. :j

    4) A bud on one of my many dahlias is starting to show colour - another day or so of sunshine and I should have my first flower of the year.

    5) Will be treating myself to an Indian takeaway tonight, as I fancy something spicy and don't feel like cooking it myself. :o
Back after a very long break!

1). Glorious sunshine, lots of gardening done and swept out / washed down porch
    2) made new cushion for my rescued wicker chair from left over dog cushion they destroyed
    3) new washing machine arrived at beginning of 4 hour slot.
    4) shopping with mum. Then not very mse coffee out but my mum needs treating :D while we were in cafe the skies opened so i ddidnt need to water the lawn
    5) sorted out spices - had a very small amount of ground cinammon bb 2003 so put in frying pan with water on low heat. Kitchen smells lovely :-)
Now settling down for tonight's prom. Xoh, ds and the dogs nearly home after a week away (having dropped dd2 in edinburgh). Cats are gonna be upset to see the dogs back lol

    Hello again, Blimus.

    Pleasures for today!

    1) A lie in.

    2) Not quite so hot now - a mere 21 degrees!

    3) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    4) Went to the allotment and got peas, onions and courgettes. A short trip after bigger son was stung on the top of the head by a bee! His hair is now so thick and long, the only way I could get the bee out was to use the hosepipe... He wouldn't stand still to let me look for the sting then I had a look about a quarter of an hour later and it was still stuck in there. :-/

    5) Smaller son spent his earnings (from looking after neighbour's fish while she was on holiday) on a second hand Wii game so has been having fun playing that.

    6) Fish and chips from the van for tea.

    7) Table tennis at mum and dad's.
