5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Hope you had a lovely birthday, BoP.
Quick pleasures for today as I'm tired!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Mum had her skin cancer operation (just under one eye) and they were pleased with how it went and did not have to get too close to her tear duct. Just 5 stitches. 3 weeks for the results and follow up checkup.
3) Smaller son's parent evening - all good! Was one sticky moment when I was asked why his attendance this term has only been 70%. I told them it was 100%, apart from an hour away at the dentists. Out came the chart - definitely 70% and a letter had already been posted to me. Teacher and I sat there thinking for a moment then I said "Is this his attendance from 5th September until now?" "Yes", she said. I pointed out he didn't start at the school until 28th September! So they will recalculate and put it at 100%. :-)
4) Helped (almost did) smaller son's homework for him as he had no interest in it whatsoever. He had to do a time capsule with newspaper cuttings, copies of our present coinage, pictures of new inventions and some models of things in 3D. :-/
5) Enjoyed Holby City.
6) Bigger son has lost his one remaining baby tooth!
7) Just been getting organised and made a trifle base (HM cake in it too!) and put a loaf of bread in the machine.0 -
Just finished my 19th birthday for the 34th time. Only pace to go.
Had loads of cards, good lucks on websites and Facebook. Even had a pint of wobbleade and some food. No luck on the candles. Saw loads of fireworks again, and big sis was as ever.
Hope everyone lose enjoyed it as well, especially the toffee apples, roasted hedgehogs, and toasted frogs.
Burp. Cool. Have a nice day.0 -
Spits prep. after this, having found Meccano, ivory and lacquer bits, other.
1. Glorious fireworks on Midsummer Common. ditto bonfire followed. All worked well with P&R. Pics just printed for...
2. ...long-hauler letter, along with France pics[a]with exhausted hound taken under wing at Cogolin with pigeon on head in Bar de la Mairie during Toulon match on box. It flew in, landed on my hip, walked up to my shoulder, then onto my chignon, stayed there for 15 mins. Pics taken and quick alert to local Var Matin correspondent. Word spread fast and people were coming to see. Loads took pics. She was exhausted I think, very wet, allowed my gentle caresses.[c]with the lovely goats at Frejus. All bits of France, where today...
3. says Var-Matin:
M!t!o: vent et douceur ce mercredi sur le Var
Le soleil retrouve enfin la maîtrise du ciel. Il brille sans partage.
Kindly note:bop.
4. dfv-did I spot somewhere during my recipe search a post indicating you too have a Mr T CC+? If so, we're scarce. I'm grateful to Martin for promoting it years ago, despite the hoops/time it took, which ended with even more goodwill apology points and vouchers. Minimal spender that I am and one who enjoys w8rs vs MrT to best advantage, I do appreciate what they can provide. This quarter's vouchers now in. Don't like the new way of organising rewards site though. I'm cynic enough to believe it's deliberately opaque and difficult to go through.
5. Compline tonight. May go.
Tooth fairy Frith:-) What's the going rate these days? All good wishes for your Mum. My love of/need for yellow thingis, I know, a risk for just that reason. So be it.
pk - so sorry my putah hex found its way to you. It is absolutely beyond infuriating. All my yesterday probs with this one have disappeared. I just shut it down and restarted - fine ever since.
kittikins - glad you posted, was just beginning to wonder.
ccp+isis - v. glad CP woman didn't take her. She's obviously entirely content to have waited until you, the chosen one, fetched up, matched her high specs. You have a very good companion there.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

All the fires are out, and the jumping jacks put back into the box. Is it not about time we had some firecrackers as well? That would shake the mould up!
4 Plenty of the five alive last eve. Just had so much attention, it was unbearable.
2 The ex Ms BoP yesterday morning when in to give her BoP breakfast in bed, leapt over for a connnnnoooooooodles and I expressed that I was hairy. She misheard and nearly did a flurry. No Ms BoP Is me who is hairy!. Still sent shivers down her back of tingles.
3 Uncle on his way. Yikes, clear the dog kennels. Oh, I note the cat has been framed. We are still too catless to say a word or two. Ms BoP not coping too well. Think we need to stoke some kitten
5 No Scrabble last night for oblivious reasons and tonight, may not run again.
1 It is no use trying to jump off, the earth will only grab you back.

Morning all - oof, what a morning. Busy, busy, busy. I think they are trying to break me - but they will not succeed
DforV - make the most of those hugs - my 14 year old will give the occasional pat, if I am lucky
CCP - so the secret to weightloss is to get a cat, eh. Think i'll have to stay fat - ish (not really fat just heavier than i'd like)
Chicken - glad bro was OK. We lost a student to a motorbike a few years ago, things like that stay with you - especially family
kittikins - welcome back - glad it's going well
DD - Ald! sausages are nice
Tealady - if you've been good and had soup, surely chocolate is OK?
Broomstick - thanks for making me sort out my Rotaire (see below)
PK - emergency responder sounds like a fab idea
LFS - our OH's being annoying is part of the reason we love them, no?
Frith - school attendance gets on my wick. I am surprised DS didn't get an absence for the one hour, mine would have
BoP - fireworks for your birthday. at least your not the "guy" on top of the bonfire
Ampersand - I make good use of my Mr T vouchers, though I also am not sure I like the new system. I have lost touch with what is valid or not and with the fraud situation recently can't actually tell if I've been diddled.
Yesterday's pleasures
1. The cleaner came - not OS or MSE but the relief and pleasure is immense.
2. Bacon and egg for lunch - using up close to it's limit bacon
3. fitted my new rotaire cover at last. The rain can fall today and my washing stays dry.
4. Nipped in to town to go to Weirdo and Barrett (as it's known in our house) to cash in on the last but one day of the penny sale.
5. walked up to a local pub for their fireworks and bonfire. People moaned a bit that it was rubbish but I liked it - like being at home but safer and cheaper. if you want Disney fireworks, you have to pay Disney prices. I thought it was all rather British - a bit crap and we all moaned, but I bet we all rather enjoyed it.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
VJsmum - good on you about sorting the Rotaire!
I have been having the day from hell to beat all days from hell so I'm going to try and find five pleasures for Wednesday now in order to put me in a better mood for the evening:
1. The cancelled evening meal out with my sons and parents has now been reinstated, touch wood, so I'm not going to be cooking tonight. :T
2. I have kept my calm and cool all day despite being tested to the extreme. :j
3. I woke ridiculously early this morning and couldn't sleep so made a cuppa and lay in bed reading - I never usually make time to read in the mornings so this was a treat. I think I might deliberately plan to do this again. It's a nice way to wake up
4. I finished off the bought (and stupidly expensive) chargrilled artichokes in one sitting. I love them. (The MSE bit is that there was no waste!)
5. Enjoying listening to R4 Book of the Week about Laurence Olivier.
Tomorrow is another (much better) day.
Have good evenings everyone,

1) Long lie-in this morning as, very foolishly, I trusted to my feline alarm clock to wake me up: for the past few days she has woken me up at about 8.30 but this morning, when I needed to be up at around that time, she decided to stay asleep until much later. Never trust a cat to do anything!
2) Around mid-afternoon I finally felt hungry, for the first time since the weekend, so I popped out of the office to buy a sandwich: buying lunch isn't exactly OS, but it tasted delicious!
3) Watching Isis doing gymnastics around her scratching post when I got home - Beth Tweddle has nothing on that cat! :rotfl:
4) Chicken kiev for dinner, bought RTC last week and frozen.
5) An evening at home, meaning I don't have to go out in the wind and rain.Back after a very long break!0 -
I am so tired, it’s ridiculous and another night of work ahead.
1.Part of a pleasure I came home to an insurance offer, but it is wrong, they should be covering our full losses and appear to well have not, at this moment in time I am inclined to hope it’s an oversight and I am leaving DH to sort it out tomorrow as he’s home and I’m working.
2.Proper pleasure Leftover chicken made into coconut curry with turmeric rice will be made in a mo when I shift my bum.:D
3.DH has “properly” topped and tailed the living room very clean.:p
Got to be honest with a night of work looming I am struggling so will bank my pleasures for tomorrow, ohh err.:)0
