That she is. I remain both bemused and deeply grateful that no-one chose her before I got there.Back after a very long break!0 -
Just a small chortle:
Omitting fine old traditions like The Taj Mahal, I have now seen everything. (Hostage to fortune, or what?!)
I've an almost-teenager in a *massive* sulk, because we we Will Not Let Him Hoover...0 -
Bloomin' Nora DFV, what are you feeding that child??!0

DFV - Do you want to swap for a week with an 18 year old DD, trust me you won't have that problem :rotfl:
Pleasures for today,
1. More apple and cinnamon in my porridge, yummy
2. Checked savings account and parents have put a very generous amount in my account to get christmas presents to OH, DD and me.
3. Was very lazy tonight and got the bus home. As I walked out of the office it was just getting to the bus stop so seemed to be a good idea.
4. Last of the carrot soup for lunch today and had a naughty bar of chocolate
5. DD and OH fighting over the last pistachio macaron, DD got there first and licked it to lay claim on it. I had the raspberry one.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
:bdaycake: BoP
Five pleasures for Tuesday:
1. Spotting the occasional firework out of the window and feeling very glad I'm in the warm.
2. NSD and NPD
3. Having a go at oven drying on a v. low temp a bunch of rose hips ready for our X**s wreath. It was a disaster. They look like little dull red prunes with dead twigs attached. I can't stick little old red prunes on the front door, can I? :rotfl: Am going to pick some more and see what happens if I a) put some in the fridge and b) freeze then defrost some. Can't look worse than what I have already.
4. Sticking the remains of last night's supper in a dish with cheese on top in the oven and turning it into a very respectable pasta bake.
5. Another MSE disaster but very pleasurable- waking up to a swelteringly hot house this morning because I forgot to switch the heating off last night.
Won't do that again in a hurry but I enjoyed the mistake.
Sweet dreams

I wrote a really long post with pleasures for the past few days and my laptop decided to shut down for updates but no warnings. I won’t re type as it won’t be the same. Sorry I’ve not been on over the past few days just so much going on.
Chicken: I’m sorry to hear of your hen.
BOP: Happy Birdie.
CCP: Is that which way up am I Isis.
I have worked out I will need to work until end of march for us to get the sabbatical, as my contract is up before then I am having a look about.:)
Work not ok, but ok that it’s over.
Late posting as both DH and I went to an open evening to find out about emergency responder training in the local county, and really enjoyed it, signed up to get through the police vetting etc now.:o For me it's kind of in thought of my dad, while he is not local to me it would be things like helping meals on wheels get to where they need to be if the weather turns as bad as it is supposed to.
Perusing for jobs as I type:cool:
The new local store is opening up Thursday and I couldn’t be much happier, our new local is Lidl,I am genuinely so so happy, much to the disgust of the the err “posh” locals. Whoop whoop.:T:T0 -
BoP - many happy returns! Returns to the bar:beer:
CCP - Oh Isis is a beauty! She looks happy:D
LisaKay - hello kitty headband?? Er can you make them me size?? I have loved HK since you had to import the things from Japan to get them!! (and yes, I did, I have a s[STRIKE]ad [/STRIKE]large collection of them! I keep thinking about ebaying them but I love the kitty so. Even my phone and list book have HK effegies on them!
DVF - I have it on good authority that they leave ...eventually! DD left @ 17 which broke my heart. I think DS will be here till he's 30! (at least)
Chicken - I think you're as bad as me with the rice leftovers..another reason the scales cried!! I even managed to kill one of those super waist cincher things...the seams gave way!
OH has been trying to fix DS's old laptop...driving me nuts wandering around with it and leaving it on my CLEAR kitchen worksurface when I want to prepare and serve meals so I'm gonna find pleasures with OH in them to prove he's not all annoyance...even if its just to me.
1. OH ran DS to school and to work so he didn't get soaked on his ped
2. He made me a cuppa when I wasn't expecting one
3. He helped me do my work, cutting celeriac and digging artichokes, and I know he doesn't enjoy farmwork the way I do
4. He ate the HM rice-a-roni and didn't notice it wasn't the real stuff (that either means he's polite or was too busy worrying about laptop..but he ate it and didn't complain!)
5. One more....he's taking me and veg to the auction and wholesaler tomorrow:) and he's now snoring in the bath:D and has promised to put laptop away as it is definitely deceased:D
DS is driving me insane showing me photos on his phone...he even disturbed my mummy bath time to tell me guitar related things (anyone else read the book 'five minutes peace'?!) Maybe I'm just in an easily annoyed frame of mind!
Big snuggles to all and a coffee in the mornin for BoP:D
DS update...the leftover rice-a-roni has gone!! He is back in good books!2013 NSD 100. CC2014CC- £31.50/£1352014 NSD 86 so far - May 20/212014 G/C spend £741.55 so far May £107.99/£91Debt Free - 30.05.13 Emergency tin - £1000June 23 - 9NSD0
