:) another lovely day despite the weather

    1) really appreciating the small things since giving up work in a fully female and very catty environment. I enjoy waking up in the morning knowing I've got lovely littlies coming to play (from working in a school kitchen to fulltime childminding)

2)DH is off for 3 nights now so, even though I'm sat here on MSE while he watches TV, I have some company.

3)the very smallest fell asleep in the pram on the way back from the midday nursery run. the pram wont fit through the door so I sat in the porch on a childs stool with my crochet lol. He woke up in a lovely mood because I hadn't woken him up to bring him inside.

4)a good friend (one of the parents from school) dropped by with her son with a box of (quiet) fireworks she hadn't had chance to set off last night. my 2 were disappointed last night that daddy was working so we couldn't get to a display and this little surprise made it all better.

5)friend brought a bottle of wine to enjoy after the fireworks :D

got someone coming to assess the house tomorrow ready for when DH goes in for his hip replacement. He's pencilled in for the 18th. off now to make sure all floors are clear and 'stuff'. might be struggling to find many positives when he's on ssp for 3 or more months so making the most of it now ;)
    freecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:
  • Lisakay - tell DH good luck with getting a shiny new hip. Dad had his done and it was the best thing ever. The one thing he didn't like was giving himself injections for weeks afterwards! And sadly I cannot crochet :( I have tried and tried and all I get is knots! I can sew(I made my 1940's dresses:D) I can knit in a straight line! And my birthday isn't till april ;) and I'll happily pay for wool!
    1. Car in car park near auction was one of them new ones and on the side it had plastered "Say hello to Adam" in huge letters:D Had to take a picture of it to show DS!
    2. Hot dogs for tea with fried onions:D so unhealthy!
    3. Auctioneer who knew dad was really lovely, as were all his staff :) (first time we've gone since dad died)
    4. Mud. We have a sea of squidgy, black mud..I like mud and puddles:D I shall make a paper boat tomorrow if the rain continues!
    5. As we unloaded celeriac at wholesalers, one of his customers said 'that looks good I'll have a box' :D One thing we got right:D
Today we went to the auction I went to every week with my dad, went in the little old fashioned shops we went in together, shopped in the supermarket we always had our lunch in. And I missed him so very much. :( But like Mrs Brown said, my daddy was my hero and hero's never die.
Big love and muddy handprints to all xxx and if I make a boat I'll show you x

Also a quick five for yesdi

1 five and a half hours teaching and a stream of students in between, but went ok I think
2 colleague backed me up in an assessment that I have set, a method he's familiar with and I am not but he says I'm doing it right

Hello , Thursday evening here and hurtling towards bedtime again.

    My Wednesday pleasures:
Up bright and early and went for a powerwalk around oval. It was a chilly start to the day...had been down at 2o but warmed up to 30o! A group of people were doing a boot camp ....so I just quickly walked past them!

Went into OHs work to have all day access to Internet ...did job searches and watched Holby, the final of GBBO ( I knew who'd won just hadn't seen it) an episode of Corrie and a general mooch around MSE.

Popped in to work to see if my wages were available , waited till it was closed and knew that ex main colleague was on. Money not available.

Came home and quickly cooked a beef stir fry , had marinaded beef before going out, so it was just a case of chopping some veggies and I cooked some noodles that I found in one of the boxes of pasta friend gave me a couple of months ago.

Walk around oval with OH and DD2. This is a distance of 1.5 km from house , there and back and whilst maybe not a marathon I'm hoping that if I walk around it a couple of times a day it will add up over the week.

It was so warm so I took myself off to bed early to just lie still.

    Today :
Up bright and early and out for my walk, chatted to mum as I walked then had a call with my sister and then my friend.

Fairly productive day of washing and ironing, hoovering, cleaned bathrooms and washed floors. Put steak in the slow cooker.

Made lemon meringue tarts using the lemon curd I made last week...very tasty. Made a few meringues as DD2 and DS don't like lemon. Made sausage rolls ....or I think I did they seem to have been inhaled by hungry children:)

Gardened and was bitten and bitten by bloomin' mozzies! Thinned out sweetcorn and runner beans, planted some pepper seeds and lemon seeds taken from the fruit/ veg. Cleared the rhubarb a bit as the leaves were covering the strawbs....rhubarb has been crazy so far! Had the company of DD1 for a while whilst we weeded...she had day off on study leave.
Picked some coriander, some lettuce, silver beet and lots of radishes. And at least a ton of rhubarb!

Took train down to ex work for my wages....$27 witheld for an ink stain on 1 of aprons. Ex main colleague quite embarrassed about this but I was not surprised! So I do not need to go back or have anymore to do with them.
    Got train back.

Had steak pie, roast potatoes, roast parsnips ( par-boiled extra and they are in freezer) roast carrots and then some lovely little snow peas.
Lemon meringue for pudding and now absolutely stuffed!

So all and all quite a productive day. Will bank wages tomorrow and they will have to last a couple of weeks if possible.

I now need to remake my bed before I can climb in to it. Glad I got it washed and dried as rain for next few days ....which whilst great for the garden is not so good for the washing piles!

Hope you all have a lovely day :)

    Pleasures for yesterday (Wednesday).

    1) Not too bad a sleep.

    2) Popped down to see mum who looks a bit battle scarred but was OK.

    3) Took brother to pick up some electrical supplies on my way to get smaller son from school.

    4) Brother took the opportunity to have a look in smaller son's new school (he hadn't seen it before). The staff in the base were chatty with him then the year 6 teacher was delighted to see him and invited him into the classroom!

    5) Put the pumpkins out on the path and lit them for a final time so motorists could see them. They were going a bit soggy on the window sill.

    6) Really enjoyed watching the update to One Born Every Minute.

    7) Tasty tea of HM chicken curry and rice then I made a massive trifle.

    8) Helpful phone call from bigger son's doctor. When I picked him up from school, he said he had been hit in the side of the head by a basket ball. The other side of his head hurt too (presumably where his brain had bashed into it!) He also had a stiff neck, felt sick, was a lovely shade of green and could hear whooshing noises...

He's got concussion. He is still in bed now (he's never stayed in bed later than 8am!) but I can hear the pages of a book turning now so he must be OK to read.

So a day off school for him. We're going to pop to my brother's later and see the man (bigger son's friend's dad) putting in the hot water pipes from wood burner to water tank. That is the last job to be done on brother's barn!
  • For those enjoying long lie inns, OH’s and days off. Snorkers in buns with onions, and all things nice. Tuff, I am here again! No. But makes you all grisly with the thought that even DD fears the chin hairs of excess. Ooooh shiver yer spines!

3 Just has to be excessive at the start, and why not. If we cannot gets a larff a day, we should sit in the corner and sulk. Oh and fight. How can we expect, here goes BoP again against one of his pet things, our future to be good, when those imparting knowledge, cannot even correctly keep their ledgers true.

Teachers eh, you just know how much BoP likes these educationalists!!!! Put them in the room with the Social Workers and watch them for a while. Gosh, get me my Pink Floyd records, a memorial home for them will do. Put your pens down, and lead me away.

5 Having my five a day later. It is Thursday, and for a real Bee Sting of a curry at work. Why is it not that everywhere I go, it is curry day on Thursday. Vegetable curry this week, all part of the Five a day you should have. And I had my Porage Frith as well.

1 It is the end game that matters, not what is in the fore play.

    2 nite is Scrabble Nites

4 Had Unc here yesterday. All he talks about is about the current Ms BoP and drinking some Honest Ales in Skeggie! She, and I know this may come as a shock to some of you, has an astounding agility with the Wobbleades of the Batemmans variety. Understandable really when you consider her insurance and protection polices. Onnce, when expressing a night out, my other unc caught word of this and expressed his satisfaction in a manner that only

But also good to reminisces about the old Uncle, who worked in the gang on the railway and his journeys. He had an aura of tobacco at nine in the morning. After that, it was beer and tobacco. He would walk the lines of Lincolnshire, tapping and trapping from Boston. And travel on the trains for his holidays, though the train always had to have a bar on it! Went out happy, after 4 milds, in the Wheel. Then.

1.Whooo hooo, I’m home before 7, no extra work this evening and working at home tomorrow.
2.Lots of animal fusses when I got in.
    3. Pasta bake is err baking.
4.Going to bake some cupcakes in a bit.
5.The new and fabulous completely local Lidls is now open horrray.
    6. Ohhh and doughnuts at work for team morale
    7. Fluffiest jumper ever delivered it's absolutely fantastic

Not so pleasures: DH has had to deal with the insurers catalogue of errors today and I do mean numerous, and the tumble dryer we ordered that was due for delivery no where to be seen and when I phoned the company who I will name and shame if the order is damaged in any way, as their so called phone manner in dealing with “the customer” s quite frankly abysmal.
