5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Evening all.
DFV - we run as a business a successful sports club and supply kit for learners who don't have their own (and it's a 'kit heavy' sort of sport!) hence all the washing. Unexpectedly, I've ended up dealing with an additional 7 loads from a school club over half-term. They will be billed for my time, electricity, washing powder, bicarb, clean bin bags to store the stuff in... you name it! I hope they realise that it will be cheaper for them to do their own laundry in future. My skillsas a laundress do not come cheap!
CCP - thanks for the pumpkins link - amazing. Glad you've got your computer back too!
Five pleasures for Wednesday:
1. It took way longer than expected because I was poorly today, but I finished dealing with another chunk of paperwork.
2. A long, very deep sleep this afternoon.
3. Phone call from my mum.
4. Helping DS2 set up a second bank account.
5. Discovering a secret hidden can of ginger beer that I had forgotten about and I'm going to open it right now ready to start the next phase of paper sorting.
Sweet dreams

Feeling stressy tonight as I'm struggling with my stupid uni stupid essay and feeling stupid
No idea if I can write at the required level, be critical, be academic enough etc......I've got to magic 400 words out of somewhere, and feel like my entire essay so far is just repetition of the same point
And breathe.....
1. A lie in!
2. Gorgeous cuddles with DD before going to....
3...the lovely school I spent 2 weeks at before starting teacher training
4. The girls were gorgeous and so kindIt felt like going home being back there, so need one of the junior teachers to decide to leave, and apply for a job there, lol.
5. The teachers were also so friendly and welcoming
6. Bought wine on a special offer and surprisingly, it's not lighter fuel coloured pink!
7. Spent a couple of hours in the library tonight tearing my hair out, finding possibly another paragraph to put in the essay, but at least it was quiet and peaceful...
8. The lovely librarians let me have a whinge and were very placatory and calmingThey reminded me that mature students tend to stress out, usually unnecessarily, about their level of ability and commitment to studying. Bless them! x
9. The radio on the way back played lots of funky music that reminded me of when I did my degree
10. Managed to dodge the rain!
11. Chocolate biscuits (although I do have a bit of a tummy ache now)

Just a few quick pleasures for now, it's been quite a day!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Porridge for breakfast. (Not Nigel, BoP)
3) Sons went off to their father's with only a few tears from smaller son.
4) Went to Ludlow with my mum. Got 2 more books from the Alex Rider series that bigger son loves.
5) Cup of tea in the nice tea shop.
6) Tea at mum and dad's.
7) Smaller son decided not to stay at his father's after all and is now asleep in my bed, next to me as I type! That was a drive through the rain and dark to get him. Ex husband saying we'll "have to have a meeting about this". Yes, I'm sure we... er.... won't!
A bit weird picking him up from his father's. I have not really spoken to the ex in nearly 9 years and have never been in one of his houses. So I stood on the doorstep (access straight off the main street) and nosily looked around his living room. FOUR photos of me in there, including one of me on my wedding day. Not really my place to ask him to take them down but... bleeeeuuurgh!0 -
CCP I love No 3, the others are a bit scary but that one's rather cute
chicken pleased that the chook is making progress, wishing her a steady return to health
Kittikins your happiness at being back at the school shines through
ampersand hope you've got your thermals ready for Spits!
VJsmum/whitesatin there's a particular restaurant I can't go in because the msg in the air is so strong it literally makes me tremble before I've even chosen what I want from the menu! A shame because it's one of the best in the area.
DfV it automatic gearbox fluid, makes the auto gearbox run properly. Fortunately the cap to the reservoir is clearly marked otherwise I wouldn't have a clue either! Will be up your way in Jan and march, please arrange for there to be no snow!
lfs I love the marrow, clever thinking
Not too many pleasures as my neighbour's (not DNeighbour with the DD, the other side) DH has had a massive heart attack, had to be revived and is in an induced coma to give him time to recover. They're hoping to slowly awaken him at the weekend. Hoping and praying for his recovery, they're a lovely family who have always been very kind to me and the poor man is only in his late 40's.
1. Having to juggle my meal plans as just been diagnosed anaemic, although I can't really afford the oysters they recommend - and never tried them so not too worried. It explains lots of strange symptoms I've been having lately, followed by lots of tests. Grateful it's nothing worse
Sweet dreams0 -
Sorry to hear about your neighbour, Sparrer.
One of the most iron rich foods you can get is parsley! Which is OK is you like parsley sauce.0 -
We had parsley growing in a pot of mixed herbs placed on our flagstones. The parsley in the pot failed, but doing some weeding I noticed it between the flagstones.. Ditto the camomile which is no longer growing in the border. Agh!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0

But it smells so good when you walk on it!0
