Well, thank you, everyone.
I'll have a good re-read tomorrow after sons have gone to stay with their father. In fact, probably several re-reads over the next few days! Final note is she is STILL here, seen working hard then putting the rubbish out for the bin men today. :rotfl:
Whitesatin - I always use a jar of sweet and sour sauce! Make curries from scratch now but s and s comes out for stir fries, chow meins etc.
CCP- I keep thinking it is Saturday today (half term muddles) so thought Isis was here! Not long now...
Dundeedoll- sorry to hear you are feeling put upon too - look after yourself.
Chicken- glad you're getting everything back in order (no storm here). I have a giant brother too!
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep but I did wake up with a start dreaming I had burned the base out of my favourite saucepan.
2) Bigger son went off to play Warhammer with brother in law again.
3) Smaller son and I went out for a drink and cake and bought some fireworks. Smaller son a bit under the weather today and my sister VERY under the weather. Just a virus, the doctor told her. Smaller son got a new book from the Wimpy Kid series. Bigger son didn't really get into reading to himself until he was 11 and looks like smaller son will be the same.
4) Bonfire party! Huge bonfire at mum and dad's and we could identify bits of our old kitchen and bunkbeds as they burned. The guy was so creepy he had been stopping in my brother's barn (we couldn't have him in the house here, he was vile!) so we glad to be shot of him. Fireworks let off, butternut squash drunk and hot dogs eaten.
5) Enjoyed watching The Wrong Mans earlier. Not sure I followed every bit of the plot!
6) Bed just now with hwb and Holby.
7) Stove going nicely - very cold here tonight. 4 degrees when we got out of the car at 9pm.
That's it! Sons going away tomorrow. Should be until Sunday but smaller son has already asked that he can come home on Saturday (ex husband agreed). They're going to ice cream town, VJsmum.0 -
Frith: Rant away, there are some s^ds out there, Molly41 words it perfectly, and it must be so hard to be so close location wise.
1.I’ve given a go to something I would never normally do signing up on a 30 day trial for a free 10 voucher.
2.Work was ok
3.Had another promising potential work call.
4.Been rather lazy tonight not really moved off the couch in fact not really motivated to move either.0 -
Frith don't look back, you have a whole world out there to look forward to. Remember the old saying, nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent. You (and we) know you and your boys are far superior to that type.
1. First time in ages I didn't have to set the alarm, then woke up at 6am. Typical! But got a lot done while the sun shone
2. Checked the oil, water, tyres, auto transmission fluid, screen wash etc, and put the poppy on the front of the car. Left the last one on Kefi so Lio had to have a new one
3. Washing dried on the line, ironing done
4. Dog and mog looking very smart after an hours grooming
5. Sorted out some light clothes to pack on Thurs. Never pack until the last minute, saves all the unpacking/repacking palaver
Sweet dreams0 -
1. Silver wedding Anniversary :j
2. Lie in
3. Week off work
4. No DS's all week
5. Bit nissed:rotfl:
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -
Frith - I guess we were all to polite to say it.. he needs a large kick up the Harris. And the aged Linda Barker will probably soon push off too;). My naughty self thinks perhaps he saw an ad for a "stripper" and got a bit more than he bargained for:p
whitesatin - the right kind of spot.. I do get that !
Have a lovely day all:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

ooh lovely, some friends are there but not us. P&P ( campsite owners) usually do a mahoosive firework thingy which might be on Saturday - the railway one was last week. It is the only place I ever let my two go trick or treating as everyone had bought into it so I couldn't not.
It's also the only place I let DD wear some 6" high heels my sister gave her  which she wore that Halloween - she kept getting stuck in the ground :rotfl: and never wore them again
Urgh - I have a Chinese hangover - not alcohol but the effects of a Chinese takeaway. OH got one for them when I was away and the remnants were in the freezer. it was revolting so I hardly at any of it, thank goodness. WEnt to bed with pounding heart and woke up after a disturbed night with a thick head. I could see the MSG in it (didn't think they used it anymore), which was why I didn't eat much (about 4 sweet and sour chicken balls). God knows what i'd have been like if I'd eaten it all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening all...just had the loveliest lentil soup for my tea, using up some seriously scary veg .
It's been a dry day and got heaps of washing done and dried but have current Downton episode on USB and Holby on YouTube to watch...so I have a small dilemma as which one to watch whilst ironing!
It's also been my day off so I phoned my mum and my friend from home.
Popped into hairdressers...my shiny new hairdo is showing grey hairs ....free re-colour on Saturday morning!
Popped into next town and got a few bits and pieces there. Went in to get $4.99 flowers from aldi to take to a friend....(resisted the tempting things on offer!)
...Who had kindly invited me for lunch . Had homemade veggie sausage rolls and salad and a whole afternoon of chit chat....came home with 7 lemons straight off her tree , 2 cuttings from a lavender bush and a lovely bar of soap she brought back from Bali.
I drove home the way I used to drive home from old work, was lovely to see the magnolia trees in bloom.
Went a walk around the sports oval with DD1 and left DS in charge of the lentil soup with instructions to stir!
So a lovely day off , I'm starting on a different shift tomorrow and not looking forward to it but I might just surprise myself and get on fine!
Have a lovely day and westy happy anniversary!0 -

I get that with Chinese takeaways too. That's why I avoid and use jars of sweet and sour sauce as I can read the ingredients. I recently tried the one with (lemon?) and ginger and prefer it to the original one.
Hope you soon feel better.0
