Frith - hope youngling is fully recovered soon & may today's secret squirrel trip with mum go smoothly (remember to buy *something* to maintain fiction to menfolk?) Fingers crossed for you.
FunkyFairy - atta girl your ma teaching grandchildren to cook!
BoP - you're a great guy minding graves. I'm told the occupants don't mind, but the rest of us visiting certainly appreciate it.
CCP - cold pizza is an underappreciated food group!
kittikins - C.S.Lewis is one of our hidden gems.
DD - if at first Windows 8 doesn't work as planned, thumnp it. (I use a teenager, fed for this purpose.)
Sparrer - best of British luck, in your sensational skirt!
Chickenopolis - sisters are a bit of a mixed blessing. (I've 2 & thus thanked a kindly deity for sons.)
Purple kitten - if you fins a good hibernation pretext, please share?!
This weekend:
Lea & Perrins on toasted cheese. With a mug of tea.
Finding the anti-histamine tablets I had squirrelled, for Scout to take on expedition. (They were put Somewhere Safe, but I found them!)
Hearing Himself's glee at an extended stroll around the charity shops, now he's Out Of His Cast! I do worry he'll overdo, but he's So Happy...
Just the prospect of balloons. I plan to acquire a pack for Christmas (we traditionally use them to finish Stockings with), but I'm entranced at how a little flat thing inflates to a beautiful big balloon!
I have a new ebook by Lee Child. Not perhaps Great Lit, but difficult-to-put-down reading. I'm looking forward to a few hours snuggled up in a parallel universe...
Youngest blowing smoke rings (old Pringles can, balloon & smoke match)
The red berries on the shrubs - not sure if poison, bird food or just festive-cheerful, but they make me smile.
Cold pizza for breakfast (leftovers from Big Scout Supper - expedition went splendidly - huge pride, relief & laundry pile.)
Got a clay pipe on a car boot stall - will make a seriously fun cracker for husband who grumbles about the plastic stuff masquerading as a present within!
Picked up a new ironing board. (Several entertaining requests, and two steam irons offered!) Made locating me much easier, but didn't fit easily into the car...
Heard Tom Leher's Vatican Rag on the radio - hurrah! Why don't Harvard maths professors get more air time?
Forgot to buy balloons for stockings - bought three plump model robins instead. At early o'clock on Christmas Day, will this be wise?!
Big hugs to all who need them!

Sparrer the job sounds wonderful, good luck
1. Hmmm I am hacked off with work so that’s not a pleasure and the job boards couldn’t have been less promising, the pleasure is it’s over for another day and home (see there is a pleasure in here) :Dat last no thanks to South Easterns diabolical “service” rant over well sorta. It’s nice to have an end in sight but it’s a little way off so trying to keep motivated lol
2. There’s left over pork, reckon I can do some sweet and sour, but I am going to be bad and make chips.:p
3. Watering the strawberry plants they still look ok so everything crossed.:D
4. Making a casserole for tomorrow with leftover liquid and leftover veg from my £1 bag a swede and carrot and whatever else lurks.:rotfl:
5. Caved to stronger painkillers and glad I did as they work, phew.
Reading everyones wonderful pleasures:j0 -
Ooooh look at you, CCP, with everything homemade. Impressed.
Hope everything went OK today, Frith
Chicken - hope DM finds her ringsHopefully she has just plonked them somewhere unusual and will find them soon
Yesterday's pleasures
1. Sunny and warm
2. Managed to spend some time in the garden - harvested my spuds, all 10 of them:rotfl:
3. WEnt to watch DS play footie. His team was leading 2 - 0 when I got there but they managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the last few minutes. DS was soooo grumpy which just made me laugh. That didn't help so I kept out of the way.:D
4. Slow cooker beef in spicy orange sauce for tea - and some left for the freezer.
5. Downton :T I know it's awful, but it's comforting. Made good knitting headway.
And for today
1. First teaching for this year - went really well and is a brand new module to me so was a bit nervous, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Knackered though - god knows what i'll be like on Sunday evening after 16 hours over 2 days, I only did 4 today.
2. Nice walk to and from station.
3. Yummy curry for tea from freezer leftovers and there are leftover leftovers for my tea tomorrow.
4. Curry for tea meant lots of boxes taken out of freezer. I will be able to see what's in it soon.
5. I am going to tidy the bedroom and go to bed early.
Night all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Ah today has been one of those days that I wouldn't like to repeat! So I will search for 5..
1. Lovely ride on a steam train yesterday:D for which I saved in a jar last year so our lovely day out cost me nothing this year!
2. DS dressed as a nun again, sorry if the picture is huge but I had to show you!(and yes there are more pictures!!:D)
3. Roasted red pepper and tomato soup for lunch:)
4. Put another row of potatoes in the potato shed for the winter
5. Mommy phoned and she's just packed a parcel full of interesting american goodies. I do like food parcels!
I need to find somewhere I can go have a bloomin good rant! Poor DD listened to me but I'm still fizzin!2013 NSD 100. CC2014CC- £31.50/£1352014 NSD 86 so far - May 20/212014 G/C spend £741.55 so far May £107.99/£91Debt Free - 30.05.13 Emergency tin - £1000June 23 - 9NSD0 -
Hope Mummy Frith is ok xx
1. Fab day, uni was great - hope tomorrow will be, but I have dreaded PE, so not looking forward to it
2. CS Lewis talk was brilliant - sadly only 2 of us turned up, but we and the vicar had a fab chat and I'll definitely go back next week
3. Managed to get to Brownies in time to pick DD up - phew! She was all bubbly and chatty after her day - and had been asleep when I left this morning, so it was nice to have some mummy time with her
4. I've discovered there's a 24-hour computer room so I can go there before the library opens, hoorah! As nice as the Refrectory is, it's more for chatting than keeping on top of work.....!
5. Scrummy dinner of mushroom and potatoey gratin dauphinois and grilled tomatoes from the garden, nomnom. So nice not to have to cook after a hard day0
