Survival & a return to health for all!
Waved to the tailor - he had a client, but still beamed!
Made & ate my own packed lunch.
Seeing apples reminded me I have a dehydrator & that it's not doing anything at present...
Eldest has a cold & has somehow curled up asleep - usually he's too long to curl & just pleats. OS pleasure is he's sound asleep which can only be a Good Thing.
Got the spinning wheel I can't drive up for sale. (Haven't quite figured out how to read mail on Ravelry though.)
And today
Finished a nostepinne for a fellow fibre friend - hope to see her at Yarndale next week!
Met up with a colleague I haven't see in ages & swapped tales - lucky it was lunchtime as we were howling with laughter. We should meet up more often, I'm aching as I haven't laughed that hard for a while!
Eldest has bounced back from cold & is going off on a scout expedition tomorrow (if we survive the packing process.)
Podiatrist released husband from cast! We went & bought him a pair of slippers at a discount store. Not quite the tartan he had in mind, but a massive improvement on sandals.
Birthdays at the office have meant shortbread - so I have looked up how you make this treat at home for Christmas.
Big hugs to all who need them & all the best over the weekend!0 -

Frith, I've pmmed you about the courses. I may yet get to do your induction, though it's unlikely as there's quite a number doing the job. Chicken, I got feedback on all of my modules, all emailed to me, I didn't have to resubmit, thankfully.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0

Spade out, digging for bait. Then is off to Steele's Corner house for jelly and ice cream desserts. I may even try and get some donkey droppings.
And the lions are still waiting to be fed0 -
Happy holidays pirate pete!
Well Saturday gone in a blur by working all day , nice walk to and from train station this morning....I love being nosey and looking into all the back gardens as we travel past!
Nice shift at work...tips in my secret stash of cash!
OH and DD1 came to pick me up...they had a muffin each and a coffee whilst I finished up and we were given fresh ravioli to take home.
OH had a GP appointment but he wasn't charged as it was just for a prescription! Nice as it would usually be around $80 for a Saturday appointment! He wrote one out for me ...I had phoned in last week and requested one but they don't have to give you one without an appointment....they had said they would call back if I needed an appointment but never...anyway, nice GP wrote one out today and again didn't charge....he must have been in a generous mood
had a chip butty for my tea! Couldn't be bothered cooking....I'd had a very lovely plate of lentil, pancetta and nettle soup mid afternoon.
DD1 is off out galavanting again, she had bought a new dress but felt once she had it on it was too short...anyway....organised me had bought her one in the sales for Christmas, so gave her that and she looks gorgeous...a lady in red! This is the ' after deb party!'
That's about it for Saturday ! This working lark takes a bit of getting used to
Have a lovely day0 -

Oi! I resemble that remark
LFS - I like your blog - it's very jolly :T
In the same way that previously I thought of Purple Kitten and Kittikins as one and the same, I am now combining LFS and DforV! I'll get over it but I may be confused in the meantime.
Wow Frith - think of all that jam! There were damsons in ice cream town - and especially the camp site. But camp site ones weren't ripe and ice cream town ones were out of reach
Chicken - you'll have to use that manner to win over new team member
Yesterdays pleasures
1. received cheque for work done at tourist attraction. :T Straight into big holiday fund.
2. Sorted out my final details for the trip to Seoul - hotel booking has come through and, Chicken, it isn't in Gangnam  Somehow "Itaewon style" doesn't have the same ring to it :rotfl: Sorted out my taxi to and from the airport here and in Dubai (in Seoul it is quicker and easier to use the metro!) and booked to go up the Burj Khalifa on the way back.
3. Met a man from a cleaning agency and, hopefully, next week will have a cleaner organised. As I have extended my work hours I'm bu88ered if I am spending my one day off cleaning. Also got a chap to look at the old and worn leather sofas. However it looks like it's going to cost thousands to repair. Such a shame. The pleasure at least is that these are things I have been meaning to sort for some time, and I've finally done it.
4. SiL rang - she had previously done battle with deceased BiL's pension company, culminating in an appeal to the ombudsman, and she has finally got the decision that he was forced into resigning and so is going to be treated as if he retired on medical grounds. This will result in a changed death certificate which she says is going through now and has received notification of the back pay she will get. It is a substantial sum and means she and the children will be financially secure - for ever :T For MiL it is significant as it's effectively acknowledging that he was ill - terminally so, even though he ended his own life. SiL feels she is starting to move on a little now
5. Lunch with friends. My last "lady wot lunches" for a while as I will be working Friday's until the end of November. Goddaughter was there and she is off to Uni next weekend. Spent some of the afternoon buying things to put in a hamper for her - booze, biscuits, chocolate, but also some rather more boring but practical things.
Working at home today - I really have to get this module finished. Have a lovely weekend allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Afternoon all !
VJsmum - You will always be a Gangnam to me (sounds like a Bee Gees song)! Oh that battered old passport of yours and Dundees. Trying hard to think of saying something clever about Acedemics and travelling but as I am clearly not one, I can't..;) Re new work colleague - my "manner" will pee her off no doubt.
Frith - ooooh fruit !!!!!!
5 for today
1. OH let the hens out at 6am. I stayed in bed.
2. Terrier hoofed it into my house from next door and greeted me whilst I was in the bath .Barged in , paws on side of bath , "I'm here ! "etc. DM in a panic as she thought she had run off up the street.
3. Took terrier into the park. Sooo many people there today. It is a rather nice park though.
4. Off to my cousin's 40th this afternoon - he lives quite a long way away , so animals need to be sorted and locked in early. Poor neighbours- the hens will kick off when locked up during the daylight
5. Nephew off to Uni today. Better have some strong scissors to cut those apron strings off !! The Uni had to find him a suitable bed according to my sister as he is 6ft 7 .
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
