Thank you for all the Mrs Frith good wishes. More on that part of the day later...

McC - I am thinking of doing the Mental Health awareness course. Glad to hear Dr C is OK.

DigforVictory - we used to like Poisoning Pigeons in the Park.

Chicken - hope the rings turn up.

LFS - he makes a lovely nun!

Kittikins- ah, 24 hour computer rooms... I used to prefer doing essays into the small hours when I was at Uni. Also met my now long age ex boyfriend in one at about 2am!

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) Sons off to school happily.

    2) Mrs Frith's appointment went quite smoothly. She has a basal cell carcinoma which is the "best" one you can have. So she'll be off to the bigger hospital in a few weeks to have it removed.

    3) Had lunch in Sainsburys and did a bit of shopping.

    4) Got smaller son's new uniform which had come through to his new school! It's lovely. He has a white polo shirt (with jolly logo on) then a V necked dark blue knitted jumper (same logo) which is miles better than the old round necked red sweaters at his last school.

    5) Obviously the county council haven't bothered to send his final statement to the new school so technically he can't start. :-( But the Base teacher says he can start anyway and it did mean I got to email the head chappie again to ask where the statement has gone. (Due December 2012!!!!)

    6) Had a good tidy up in the garden as bigger son wants a barbeque for his birthday on Sunday. Looks pretty good after a clear up and sweep up.

    7) Listened to Just a Minute with smaller son.

ETA and 8) A fun filled 15 minutes with MrN on my bedroom floor! (He was playing Scalextric with sons)

    That's about it for today!
  • Thank you all - re DM's lost rings . I walked round the block with the terrier in the dark with a torch , searching very slowly between the pavement cracks .. and found 2 x 1p :rotfl:

LFS - I am assuming that DS does have other clothes ?;) He makes a fine Nun !

    Have a good day all

Day off....just as well...phone call in middle of night with bad news about my FIL, very poorly so OH is away home and hopefully gets there in time.

    So my pleasures?
Well....I didn't have to get up for work!
Friend was supposed to be coming over so tidied in anticipation and she postponed which in light of the days events suited me just fine! But tidy house an added bonus!

Sitting outside at my table and chairs reading my library book on and off throughout the day!

Popped to supermarket for phone top ups (10% discount when I use my loyalty card) got a lovely bunch of RTC flowers.

Past few weeks there has been a lovely 2 seater sofa in the charity shop which I have liked at $110... Anyway popped in yesterday and it was rtc at $60 , so today DD1 and I did our best chuckle brother impersonation and to me , to you'd all the way home! It will go in my office once I move things around....a job for another day I think!

Lovely sunny day so lots of washing done and dried nice and quickly. Changed my bedding so looking forward to clean sheets and my library book tonight. Will wait until I know OH is on his way and head to bed.

    Have a lovely day :)
  • LoveFullShelves - interesting american goodies - what are these treats?! Son sensational - enjoy the costume as long as it fits!
kittikins - only 2 for CS Lewis? (They should never have allowed the film to be made.) I found the computer room a good place to work, um years ago...
DD - has a controlled tap got your computer to cooperate? Congratulations on the promotion!
MoP - cheer up, Mondays pass!
Frith - ah, "it just takes a smidgeon".. Hallelujah for the "best" appointment, enjoying Just A Minute with smaller son & I will wash my mind out with soap for its assumptions re:the bedroom floor.
mhagster - new furniture hurrah! and chuckling with child always good.

    OS pleasures
I find pleasure in gently foggy mornings - streets look one dimensional like Hollywood facades, & the hills like lines of duvet.

A packed lunch, after another cold pizza breakfast. (Last night's sausage & mash & onion gravy *never* has leftovers.)

Sis is taking back up the violin. After a 26 year absence. I'm rather glad there are several counties between us as she first re-starts! It'll get her out & about more & meeting more people.

Work trip to Liverpool sorted - lovely long train journey, so must feed the Kindle. Anticipation one of my rarer pleasures...

Colleague has perched a PG Tips monkey on the printer, holding an "out of use" message. (I paraphrase.) It does help with the frustration!

    A quick few for today:

    1) Living close enough to where I work that I could pop home in my lunch break to pick up my charger when I found my phone's battery was nearly dead.

    2) Sunlit sea mist on the way home - so pretty!

    3) RTC flowers I picked up are still blooming away enthusiastically best part of two weeks later.

    4) Chish and fips for dinner - of the oven-baked variety, but sill nice.

    Have a nice evening, everyone.
Back after a very long break!
