Here Be She - £115 putah bill rcvd hier, chq posted t'day. Seems to be working - and I should hope so, for that amount.
Please may I do catch-up/commenting at 'leisure' ? [HAH! - none of late].
I'll just bung 5 allsortsies here and now, or more time will elapse.
Day of cack in many ways - all own fault - but cathartically purged by saying so here:-) THOSE parts were my doing: Identical Spot the Deliberate Mistakes in John Lewis, then Superdrug....left Bank card behind TWICE. Therefore doubly far trekbacks when I'd already had enough, done enough, faffed about, resenting every moment of yellowlessindoorness
'BLAST!!!' I shouted aloud at mo. of discovery and set off all Captain Oates-ish back again.
bop, your off-season training should now be full-on. You will be called upon, railed against, impeached for breach of promise, etc.etc. for the forthcoming hivernals and autumnals. You will, however, be Gold Star praised with extra custard for all bonus Indian Summer days.
1. Having rollocking time as I listen to Spooky Men while doing this:
Let Me Through[Nobody Knows How Important I Am] Glorious....
2....and & is going again next Fri - Farnham Maltings
3. ...and & is going again 2 days later. final concert of tour, in the Union Chapel, Islington - wonderful building, perfect setting with acoustics to marry to Spooky Men sound. 4 YHA Thameside nights, courtesy Mr T tokens, already stapled to forehead as of this morning. London muckarounds already being looked forward to.
4. Picked 650gms of framboises this morning. They are ginormous this year.
5. Back @Spits last Thurs - SOOOO grateful for several sales in particular[modest Banking today],but horrendous departure. Diversion at t-junction meant next 8 miles heading in wrong direction, through Blackwall Tunnel, reduced to single-lane gridlock and no escape. It took over an hour to be able to u-turn, then under 10 minutes back! After 2 a.m. back here - long haul day.
2 big breakages discovered after last horror day a fortnight ago, but my neighbour took nul£ and D took £33. Everyone's having their Bad Turn, it seems.
8. Now share my pleasure in this:

It's a beautiful love song, to match Lord Minchin of Tim's:

[Yes, I've sneaked it in before. Lovely tandem]
9. Marvellous long talk with France la Belle last night. Have to work out my fuites, can't be long this time - 3 weeks if lucky.
10. Tomatoes ripening at last! - 3 sorts. Not to mention surfeit of beans and courgettes, all in power-mode production.
I'll leave it there- 10's a short 5 for moi, esp. after enforced gap.
Will I hunt and gather come the morrow?
Could well.
Oh yes - big11. My storage is finally all vacant. Can power on now.:T
12. I'm debating with myself re: buying this:
Roberts Radios Roberts CD9960 CD FM/MW/LW Radio Cassette Player
so I can at last catch up with a technology that is already redundant and play stuff outside to hear as I work or have CBA interludes.
13. Chasing still unarrived auction chq reveals it has gone to France - twice! Oh dear.
14. US Open tennis through the night. Lurve lurve lurve all tennis. Also new guy on block on moto GP. All blending well with current reading in French of several Classics:-)
Farewell St Aristide ce soir, bonjour St Gilles demain.

Hello all
My pleasures:
1. Made a cheese and tomato quiche using Asda extra special vine ripened baby tomatoes YS to 20p!! Needed to use up eggs anyway
2. Did an asda value shop by trying Martin's downshift challenge, managed to save about £25 from the weeks shopping (money bit tight this month)
3. White clothes load washed and dried outside in sun today
4. Sorted out all my paperwork today, and managed to make sense of our budget for the month
5. Nice cosy night in with homemade asian noodle bar inspired dinner, much cheaper than takeaway0 -
Evening everyone
ampers great to see you back !! What a nightmare journey home from spits. Be careful with that bank card... I've had mine skimmed twice now with some scumbag trying to book flights to Oz. You never know who's watching you put your pin in at shops either - I always cover the machine with my purse now.
Hi skader :hello:impressive savings on the downshifting, well done

Thanks skint - yes. It seems many shops are now being obliged to update system hardware. Both JL and SuperD staff regretted that their respective new systems no longer have the 'Halt' built in, which meant that the paper receipt wouldn't print or issue until payment card was removed - acted as a natural Alert.
Yes again - I always cover the keypad and body block the atm or gizmo. I'm little enough, but was long ago shown how to 'crowd' any such thing. It's also good to use your handbag[my whopping carpet bag or similar]to frustrate/subvert electronic pulse readers.
In JL today, I liked pairs of porcelain eggcups with retro b/w transfers appropriate to their Eggs and Soldiers captions. I couldn't think when I'd last had E&S, so that's what I had for supper, with h/g salad this evening. Yummy.

You could be surprised: this has all the elements of a good local human interest piece and your Dad will be well remembered, recently known and cared about by others. These stories really can produce results. Will you please try?CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

DD - that was my fear that the people at the bottom were messing us about and maybe had another offer on the go and it would all go belly up just before exchange. I didn't have a plan B apart from panic and pray!.....such a relief that it's happened. Friday is completion day
1. Sunshine - and so much of it!!
2. Lovely day with DD
3. We went on a brilliant story walk in Oxford, our tour guide had an inflatable flamingo instead of an umbrella to act as our beaconSuch an interesting talk and has made me want to reread Tolkien, CS Lewis and Lewis Carroll
4. We got chatting to a lovely old couple on the bus who told us of an amazing sounding vegetarian restaurant in Bath that we may try for dinner tomorrow night
5. We had a brilliant time at our local town's folk music, crafts, dance festival. Lots of clog and morris dancers, accordions, belly dancers, violins, etc etc. Very nice laid-back atmosphere.
6. We walked for ages today and I didn't whinge once
Having an earlyish night as it's our 'holiday' tomorrow, yippee!!0 -
... am gonna be cheeky and add another.....
6. hm treacle sponge... cooked in microwave... with custard

Good to see you back, Ampersand. :-)
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Noisy boys next door away at their father's! Deafening stereo next door only playing for several hours today, not continuously.
3) 50% off vouchers came in the post for our local cinema. We couldn't watch the film the other night as the projector had broken.
4) Made croutons for lunch which sons always love.
5) Bigger son round at MrN's all afternoon then back round there after coming here for tea. He helped MrN paint his shed and got £3 payment. :-)
6) My school friend came round this afternoon.
7) School friend loaded Lord of the Rings game onto the laptop for smaller son. A pleasure was watching him talking to her on the phone (once she had got home) to discuss tactics. He was singing to himself "Walking along with Gandalf, waaaalking with Gandalf, walking with Gaaaaandalf" whilst on the phone!
8) Chips for tea from the travelling bus.
9) Smaller son and I put the coat of primer on the new plaster in the kitchen. Looks much better for it. Don't know what colour to paint it with the proper paint. What colour kitchens do other posters have? Mine was blue before so would probably have a change from that.
10) Watched Casualty.
11) Just coming up with tomorrow's menu. No money til Tuesday (really annoys me when I mess up the money situation but the combination of new kitchen, new school shoes etc was too much). So I am living out of the freezer and cupboards! Found a large piece of one of brother's pigs so am going to slow roast that. Brother gave me 3 swedes the other day so will make swede chips.0 -
Sunday evening and just waiting on the final episode of masterchef coming on.
Been a beautiful day , sunny and warm.
Sunday scone.
Spot of gardening
We bought a petrol hedge trimmer.....our electric one won't stretch to any part of the garden....went to local DIY store, the one we wanted was discontinued and they had one left, it was already reduced but they gave us another 10% off and then I had a voucher for $10 off , so quite pleased with that as we were going to buy it anyway. We then did a separate purchase for mulch and got a further $10 off that.
OH cut grass and did some trimming and I did weeding and sweeping!
It was Father's Day here...so got a FD cake rtc!!
Nice to not have the heating on at this time of night, house still feels warm enough.
Have a lovely day0 -
:jWelcome back ampersand . I had a weird dream about you this week..."you" were one of the subjects in a painting and you had a cream headscarf on and a beige 1940's type dress. You were helping another woman to get up off of the floor, as she appeared to have fallen over. It was like a Sir Stanley Spencer type painting. Must be the meds...
Skader - welcome . Nice post
Have a good day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
