    1. Last day of work, yay!!

    2. Was treated to a krspy kreme doughnut by a colleague as a thank you and goodbye :) Felt odd to be leaving, despite it being a strange old place, the nice people were lovely and the odd people........decidedly odd, lol.

    3. My daddykins' birthday and he loved his presents from us all.

    4. Bro and his girlfriend are down, nice to see them.

    5. The GF, DD and I went over the rec to shoot some hoops, play piggy in the middle etc :) I reckon I'm getting more exercise now than I have in years! Handy not living on a hill now; I know it's silly, but my Arthur-it-is made it a bit of a hassle to walk up to the village to the park at the old house...

    6. Ordered me, mummykins and DD some treats from the Body Shop website - and got 50% off!! :)

    7. How could I forget, sunshine :)

In 100% agreement with chicken and CCPabout mhags DD and the bullies. Just a pity it didn't happen long ago when she first raised the issue
LFS I hear you, next door has a huge buddleia overhanging my garden and it's been a particularly good year for flutterbyes. So dainty and pretty :D
mcculloch I love the IoW too, my father's family home was in Ventnor where we spend many happy holidays and stayed with DGM for a couple of years when the parents divorced and set up home with their new partners. I went back a couple of years ago for the first time in too long, it had changed enormously in that time but still has an air of peacefulness about it.
    1. Second (and last) coat of forget-me-not blue paint put on the 5 fence panels. Pretty :)
    2. Gave the shed door, eaves and shutters another coat of Barleywood. Will do the forget-me-not walls again when I have a whole day free
    3. Neighbour's son broke up the pub table/bench which I've been using as a potting table but it's rotten and the legs stick out so it takes up far too much room. I can now get it into the boot and take it to the tip
    4. Sorted out the nail/screw storage box, what a job! I have a huge bag for recycling and the box is still full
    5. Played some old cd's while I was working, started on the top shelf and worked my way through. Only got as far as the second shelf and oh dear, I have some strange cd's. Had the neighbours laughing at what I used to like but they were singing along too :D

    Sweet dreams :)

It's Saturday evening....all I've done today is work but its been a pleasure!

Up early...had clothes all sat out ready just to put on, had a nice drive ...my free carpark has been closed due to unforeseen circumstances so I took a chance and parked elsewhere and didn't get a ticket!

We were busy today , our first Saturday of business and we did well. I work with really nice people which makes a difference.

Friend from old work popped in with a card from another customer I was friendly with but didn't have a chance to say goodbye. Lovely words in the card....so that was nice!

For lunch...I had asked for nettle and lentil soup ...but had chicken and artichoke( I had queried it but started eating it anyway) ...oops, it was for the barista....it was delicious and he had my soup! I had had a taste of the soup earlier and it was gorgeous.

Also tried the lemon tart, the panacotta and the tiramisu ....but just small slivers! They were fabulous too!

OH and DD1 got the train and came to get me at work so we had a coffee/ juice and some tiramisu.

Got a free loaf of altamura bread to take home.

Sunny day and we went for a walk round the block when we got home....DD1 dug the veg patches over again, we will put the seeds in tomorrow .

Watching Mr and Mrs Collared Dove, enjoying the last of the sunshine in the garden.

I hope you all have a lovely day :)

    Morning all

Blimey Sparrer I am exhausted just reading all that
Frith, that reminds me I have a bottle of ginger beer in the fridge
    LFS what a nice post

    Yesterday's pleasures

1 day off so lazed around awhile in the morning
2 cleaned the kitchen while listening to a lecture from south California university on the horror that is fructose
3 lunch with friend and a exchange of holiday stories
4 DD had a friend come for a sleepover. Am really pleased that they like to come here
5 went to see my favourite butchers and had a laugh with them.

Have a good day all. More cleaning beckons
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • SatDi Services and it seems around me parish we care more for the Toad crossings. Lest I retire to my rose lined cottage again.

5 Mega snorlkers this morning, with rind of pig, toms (Part of my five a day) Mushrooms (5AD) and fried toasts. Washed down with Tea. Now ifs tea was meant to be white, there be growing tea with cows in plantation. And ifs it were meant to be in a bag, you would have Tea Plantations next to the paper mills, Anyhow we had a splurge, part of Ms Whackshi egg missed the pan. Why is it always her egg that happens too!

4 Tiger was banished to the Utility room. The bacon is tooo much for him, and he cannot control his paws. Still, why do cats struggle with snorkers, yet laps up the tom juices every time. Still, his whiskers always turn red!

3 Got a new shaving brush, so I can lather up and groom mes beard in the morning. Last one was missing a few in the middle after twenty years of service. Proper pig tails as well.

2 gether with Ms BoP. Happened to get a seven letter out, ARREARS last nite at scrabble. Good job as she nearly beat me, but you have to has the class. So there. No pitch invasion either as cat was banished to the street. It takes him at least four running jumps to get over the gate and back in.

1 Was told when going into a place. Make sure you know where the exits are. There was a lot of kidding going on and block behind at RAF Uxbridge had a visit from merchants of death.
Always stuck, In 1980 exit policy was an unheard of media word. Still, the churches in Al Duvair! At least the Toads will be looked after!

    sits back, polishes medal. Bu99er

Hello to you all from a very sunny prague and aplogies to all i havent personally replied to above but i have read and enjoyed all your posts
    1) yesterday was also gloriously sunny so it was the very versatile maxi dress from evans that with my belt i can hoik up for a very cooling mini :D
    2) got to the old square at 11:50 and found a good spot to watch the clock strike 12
    3) up to wenceslas square (rather boring but so historic had to tick it off) then dived down a non-touristy road following mse nose and found locals cafe for lunch. £15 for the 6 of us!
    4) then a fantastic 2 hour boat ride. Ok not cheap but that's the point of mse isnt it? Save where we can so we can splash when we need
    5) then a cuppa and rest back in the flat and off for dinner. Due to football match we left the flat at 8 and left the restaurant at 10 :-)

    Kittikins - HURRAH!
Back in from a three day "break" galumphing around museums.

After-holiday-back-in-own-bed sleep. Previously not logged as a special OS pleasure? Blissful!

There is a definite OS pleasure in admiring the Saxon Hoard - this time in Birmingham. Just why it leaves me wibbly at the knees & generally feeling as if I'd done three hours hard in the Cathedral I don't know, but phew! Glorious...

Is it OS to watch your offspring do their best against an all-you-can-eat breakfast?! (I think we won, or at least dented that morning's profit!)

As I try to process what the news is burbling about Syria whilst simultaneously putting names on shirts, tops, trousers etc, I take a distinct pleasure in knowing that strategic vouchers & gradual acquisitions have made sorting School Uniform less expensive.

All the yellow stuff! And where it hasn't been beaming, at least It Hasn't Rained.

Major OS pleasure watching son "steering" husband in a borrowed wheelchair down a hill at the Black Country living museum. Splendid spectator cardio, but they made it safely down (phew.)

Finally home (extra nectar points on fuel voucher!) and laundry. Hallelujah for Costco Persil...

Son away with Scouts recycling an old equipment store - impressive recycling of wood & even nails!

Hugs to all who need them, including all school outfitters who today have the combination of imminent New School Year, Saturday & payday. Best of luck to all!

    1) Lots of lovely yellow stuff.

    2) My first HG tomato on the plants outside has started changing colour. :j

    3) Watching the eventing on TV - I missed the first couple of hours because I didn't realise it was on, but saw the rest.

    4) Apparently my new haircut makes me look younger as I got asked for ID when buying wobbleade. :j

    5) Decided it's too warm to cook inside this evening so I'm going to fire up the BBQ in a bit and cook dinner on that instead. :D
Back after a very long break!

    Good evening all !

LFS -you are sooo cheeky . I love it !!

Skintos - blimey . Not sure I want to take them at all now :rotfl:The red hot ants crawling under my skin now sounds quite appealing ;)

    5 for today

    1. Curried out. Ate too much last night. Not a morsel of food has passed my lips since. It was lovely though. I said to OH "I am Curry" ( Like the film "I am Legend" )

    2. Picked loads of blackberries from the garden

    3. Made a crumble for OH from the above

    4. Pulled out all my eaten to bits by caterpillers broccolli. Pulled out the beans . Hens were in heaven as I let them in to the bare raised bed and they rolled and scratched around in the hot dirt all afternoon. One dug up a huge spud. I did not know I had any!

    5. OH has just called me on his way home from work.. he has bought me some steak with a madeira sauce...Have not got the heart to tell him I aint hungry !!!!

6.Did 20 miles on exercise bike

Have a good evening all !

    Evening

    Pleasures for today,

    1. Meal plan and food shopping done for the week, came in a couple of pounds under budget which makes up for last weeks overspend.
    2. Bought a huge box of Roma tomatoes for £2.50 so have made a huge pot of tomato and chilli sauce and one of tomato and red wine sauce. Got a bit carried away with the chilli though so will have to be careful when use this one. All the sauces portioned up and in the freezer now. Still got a lot of tomatoes to use up so may make Tomato soup tomorrow. Hadn't realised just how big a box had bought :o
    3. DD put the washing out for me and is all dried
    4. Used some Mr.T vouchers to get some extra plastic containers to hold all the goodies made for the freezer. Also picked up some RTC wrap kits for 30p each.
    5. Ice cream from the ice cream van this afternoon.

Hugs to all who need them
